Thank you for watching! I'm the director of Tindra's Light. I've been animating and drawing stories for the most part of my life. I've also been making a lot of music. After finishing work with this film I decided to withdraw from animation, and make way for more music production. I hope to create some more animation in the future, because I still have a lot of stories that I want to tell. But right now I need to take a long break and focus on my music career.
This film was an incredible feat for me. One whole year of production, and months of preparations. I created nearly everything myself. Story, storyboarding, background painting, music, planning, animating etc. I'm also incredibly proud of keeping to the budget, and to the estimated time draft. Finally I can let go of this film, after 2 years of festivals. Now it's time for Tindra to live on here on UA-cam.

The Norwegian voice cast was recorded in 2016, after the animation was complete. After announcing in the local newspaper in the west coast of the fjords of Norway, that I was looking for voice talents for my film, I was incredibly lucky to get hold of Frida and Johannes as the leading stars of the film. Since they are still children, and they're not with any agents, I won't post any contact information information to them. Although I believe Frida is very likely to continue with drama somehow. Perhaps she'll be making herself known to the world. She strikes me as an extraordinary talent.

Oo, nice! The dialect they're speaking in this short is from the west coast of Norway, around the city Ålesund.
@@truecuckoo I’m currently teaching myself A1 level right now and I was able to pick up that this wasn’t normal Oslo dialect because some words they said were being pronounced differently. it’s a beautiful dialect (in my opinion) compared to Oslo haha
@@nerdymiumiu cool. Yeah this is Sunnmørs dialect. Variations of dialects spoken in the Sunnmøre county. The fjord and coastal regions surrounding Ålesund.

Beautifully done Mr. C. - it is interesting to note that i think ALL of my musician friends are also visual artists, myself included. The backgrounds were particularly beautiful and an obvious labor of love, and the perspective framing at times was superb. And of course the story itself was completely sweet and endearing. Nicely done, and I appreciate all the hard work, alone no less, you put into it. Great job.

Just umbelievable how beautifull story, amazing drawing and animation. I love all the details like changing the camera angle and forexamle when sea washes the shrimp from the beach to the sea. And oh YES that soundtrack fits so well in this movie! WELL DONE MY FRIEND. I can just imagine how much work this has taken.

Thank you so much. It was tough work making all of this back in 2015 - 2016. Super tough work. We wanted to employ a little team for it, but didn't get enough funding for it. So I decided to do it on my own anyways. 50 million views. Yeah.. bring it on ❤️

Jeg gråter hver gang. My boyfriend lives in Norway so I wanted to learn the language myself. He told me that watching cartoons and movies in Norwegian with English subs was the best way to help learn how things are said and to get used to how the language sounds when people speak to each other.

I have a lot of ideas in my head. But knowing how much work it takes to pull it off, I'm not sure.. I'm just not sure. I want to, but it would require to focus on that for a few years, and do only that. I'm not sure I have the drive to pull off a feature film production. It's sort of comforting to know that Miyazaki Hayao made his most significant work after the age of 40 though.
@@truecuckoo Yeah that makes sense. Either way this short film you made here is very inspiring to me, I'm going to spend some time learning how to do character animations in Blender to hopefully get some of my ideas out there. It seems like the least time consuming method, I always have 3 or 4 projects I want to work on at a time. Anways, thanks for sharing!
You should sell prints of the backgrounds; so ambient and pretty to look at...
Thank you so much! During the premiere, I'd actually framed the originals in a little exhibition, and sold most of the ones that I framed. It often feels a little bit empty without the people though.

Thanks a lot ❤️ Yeah sure. The music is made almost exclusively with an instrument called the Continuum Fingerboard. It’s super expressive, and a lot of the sounds are very acoustic like in their nature. I specifically purchased the Continuum to make this soundtrack.
