By the way, nice steal of footage from the Dutch Bushcraft guys, among others. You should give them credit for putting together such a great video for you.
The first thing you do with the Benchmade Bushcraft knife is throw the sheath away and buy one that actually holds the knife well. It’s a FANTASTIC knife, but Benchmade can’t make a sheath to save their lives.
I have an Esse PR4 that I got on Amazon and so far it's been pretty dependable. Holds a good edge. Feather sticks and splits wood very well. A lot of people talking smack about 1095 steel, but I haven't had any issues.
Bought a buck 104 5160 and love it but I'm not understanding all these bushcraft video's where you are batoning fire wood, wouldn't a hatchet or axe be a better choice for firewood, I guess if all you have is a knife, bit in this modern-day world where everything is available at the ready, why would you use a knife to do axe work..???
It's actually very common for bushcrafting to be done very primitive , as few tools as possible and testing your own skills. I didn't understand it at furst either. Start doing it, each time test new skills and less equipment, it becomes a constant test against yourself and the amount of gear. I hated camping, then I would glamp, now I'm in the woods with a knife and sleeping bag , and a few snacks, I'm not hunting like that lol, hut it really js fun and a great test of yourself.
This thing is $460 Canadian. When I saw the price I thought it would be some kind of super steel but when I looked at the specs it said its Cpm s30v. I thought it would atleast be s90vn for that price.
Got plenty of knives as good or better than the bench made. Mora Garber… got it, got plenty of knives as good or better than the Gerber, got the Mora carving knife. Got the BK16 and other BKs. Guess no need to watch this one, thanks though.
hi, seems like the principle is very similar but much cheaper, probably china made... here the link to the terracraft at the official Gerber site bit.ly/3FtyDGw 👍
@@gregblake2764 Thanks I finally found that but $160 bucks is too much for any Gerber. I have been buying their knives since 1970's but they disappoint...
There is NO firggin way in Hell, NEVER, like EVER, that I would spend $350 plus for rinky dink knife like the first one featured. I just got a No.37 Jeo Tec handmade bushcraft knife for half the price of a benchmade bushcrafter and it has a beefier blade, made with a better steel, way better sheath, and comes with a sharpening stone, and ferro rod, and this knife was made and sent from Spain, halfway around the world, so why are some of these knives so ridiculously way overpriced?!? Beckers are still decently priced depending where you get them but $350 plus Dollars for a knife that's not even longer than 4-inches. Does it do magic tricks or something, I just want to know why???
I have the Benchmade knife... I used a flint stick a few times and the edge was badly damaged - I had to use a metal file to reshape it. The blade had some damage just from batoning yew wood. It is ether all reviews are paid by the manufacturer or I've got a faulty knife. It supposed to be a great steel but probably it is badly heat treated and not manufactured properly. £180 down the drain...
If I were you, I'd not use that expensive knife for batoning logs, nor for striking the ferro rod. In other words, I'd not even buy them for bushcraft/survival uses. An inexpensive one will do in those situations, and if you lose /damage it, just buy another one...No sweat.
I also have the Benchmade Bushcrafter. Using the spine to strike a ferro rod works great. No reason to damage the cutting edge. I've batoned several different American hardwoods and never damaged the blade. All it takes is a little common sense to not push your knife beyond its limits.
@@joelhunter984 I used the spine with flint stick, sorry, my English limits me sometimes to explain things in details. The spine edge was really badly damaged just from using a flint stick couple of times.

If you click and show more it should show a section where it says music on this video...
I'll copy and paste here in the comments, 1min

Hahahaha
Well said
I thought I recognized the torture testing.
they gave them credence by putting in their footage.
I know right like wtf make your own footage and also why put a carving knife on a survival knife list?
My man's just chopped a whole tree down by bashing a knife through it... I like this guy

Agree, love the knife. As far as the holster, first thing I did was get a nice custom leather sheath from Patriot leather and also a kydex sheath.
which is why i never buy their knives for the price they want it has to have it all
Lol I actually like the sheath

Good Information Sir
Love Becker! You can not go wrong!
" If you could get bullets out of your fingertip" so very true!
I own a BK 2 and I mean I have used it!
What knife is that in the thumbnail? Obviously not asking about the Bench Made..
LT Write Genesis 👍🏻
My Joker Nessmuk arrived today dull like an old steel chisel... (Useless as a knife) Where are the checks and balances on the Joker Nessmuk chisels?
The background music is great. Need those tracks. May you please share the artists
Thank you! Names are in the end of the video description ✌

Fail to see what that little mora carving knife has to do with bushcraft or survival
Who the heck hammers the cutting edge into a brick? Dang....
Anyone that would pay $300 for a Benchmade would split bricks with it. Get a Mora for $12 and you can break bricks all day.
That was a semi living tree he chopped down..b
Was a torture test from the guys at Dutch Bushcraft Knife channel. Check them out
@@joelhunter984 Thanks for the information 🙏 I watch them a lot.
Dutch bushcraft boys. They are wild and test knives to failure.
Why am I being directed to Spanish Amazon site.
uhmm, that's weird, where are you watching from?
I hope we are done trying to destroy a knife. You have to respect a knife not use as a stupid tool. Cutting bricks ffs. For heavy use you take an axe.
There is no G Terracraft that I can find. This looks like principle,
Seems like they have changed the name? give me a minute and I will confirm
hi, seems like the principle is very similar but much cheaper, probably china made... here the link to the terracraft at the official Gerber site bit.ly/3FtyDGw 👍
It's USA made too, the terracraft is bigger and comes with a extra thick S30V blade
The Gerber Terracraft is only available directly from Gerber.

😂tried cutting ,but still no fun
Ok first knife its 300 pound in UK no thanks
Was any of this not stolen footage? Shame on you.
im always like...where f the is your axe........in all these knife videos they make axes foe a reason

Why would you use the edge and not the spine of the blade. Never use the cutting edge
