Batoning is cool but have you heard about the Axe? I heard you can use it to split wood but I have never seen a bushcraft channel talk about it so it must be garbage
I got the Buck 120, a 1982 model, from E-Bay a month ago. I got the older model because I think the fit and finish of the older models is better than that of the current day knives. I fiddled with it for about a week and then decided to sharpen it. I have a inexpensive belt sharpener I use (because I am bad at sharpening). I attempted to sharpen the 120 and somehow managed to catch it in the groove on the sharpener. It grabbed the blade and put a big channel right on the edge. Imagine that; this knife survived for 40 years with only light wear. It survived for about 3 minutes once it got into my hands. Thats pretty much how my life usually goes…
I'm a DIY destroyer too. Every time I break something I'm trying to fix I reassure myself that failure is part of learning, don't give up the fight my friend.
My friend has a crappy Bowie hanging above his stone grinder that is mangled along with a photograph of his kids hand to remind people of what can happen .
4:14 Good question! My answer is epoxy. The finger guard got loose on my buck 119 through hard use, and I slathered it with (way too much) epoxy. The thing is utterly impenetrable now, and cleaning is a breeze. No more nooks and crannies where dirt / food / animal blood / water could collect. I’ve had my Buck 119 since I was 16 years old. I’m 23 now, so for about 7 years I’ve put a lot of use on this blade. Of those 7 years, for about 5 of them I’ve carried the 119 as my EDC. I’ve done pretty much everything you could possibly do with that knife, from cooking and daily chore work to woodcarving, bushcraft, and processing game. For a while in high school I had a job where all I did was cut open pre-packaged boxed goods, cut down the boxes, and stack the flat cardboard into big dumpster trailers. A local businessman had bought out some sort of “As-Seen-On-TV” exercise equipment maker, and he wanted to rebrand. He hired me and a few of my friends, and we all had different roles. I did what I described above, and my friends repackaged the stuff into the new containers. I went through what was probably 20,000 boxes at that job, and exclusively used my Buck 119. I had to sharpen it about twice throughout each day, but all it would take was a minute or two on my pocket whetstone and it would be good to go. I know it’s only 420HC steel, but between whatever Buck does to it and the grind of the knife, it stayed sharp very well. I never had one issue with the knife. These days, I run my own woodworking shop. I sell hand-carved wooden products, like spatulas, spoons, bowls, trays, bowdrill sets, primitive traps, and a couple dozen other items. I regularly use the Buck 119 for hours on-end, carving my products. While it’s not really intended to be used as a dedicated carving knife, I’m more familiar with it than any other blade, and it works well for me. In my opinion, it isn’t the greatest knife ever made, and it isn’t even my favorite knife that I own. But it’s absolutely excellent, and it holds the most sentimental value. Apart from that sentimental value, it actually performs better than a lot of folks tend to give it credit for. It’s comfortable to use, very versatile, and it’s durable enough to handle everything I’ve thrown at it.
Its the heat treatment. They use the pull bos heat treatment method. This causes there to not be any weak points throughout the knife, which is why 420 hc is not a porblem when buck uses it.
Essee laser strike is rad. Love mine. Carrying a fixed is a way to show dominance and potential for producing strong offspring to the wide hipped females.
idk if this was intended as satire or an actual suggestion or a mixture of both, but yes, it is true that females will psychologically be attracted to a male who has a strong tool capable of cutting things and/or killing other males if the need arises. it's pretty logical if you think about it. she might not admit it, but it is 100% true.
The Buck 119 is the only knife I have three of. One was my Grandpas, One was my Dads and the other is mine. All will be passed down. Sure there are better knifes, but none will hold that degree of place in my heart.
Mainly metal complex... he deff sounds totally receptive to receiving anal sex... by the biggest burley man holding a "thousand dollar knife" with his "highly recommendedable and inexpensive tools"
At 72 years old, I've been collecting blades for decades, not for questing for the one ultimate blade for me, because I can appreciate the look, ergonomics, materials, fit/finish & fondleability of each one. I worship the sun, wind, hiking/hunting/camping/fishing & whitewater solo boating gear in my stable as much as a close friendship!!! ( A bit materialistic, I know, but so what ).
So as a man from a better generation you know what matters is do you like the knife? Is it reliable and does it suit your needs? We live in a day where your life doesn't depend on if your blade holds up, unless you are going for that experience and head into the mountains for a year or something. So if it looks good to ya, feels good in your hand and isn't gonna disappoint when you're using it... There's more options than one can count 😎. Hope you're still out there having fun.
Two years ago I had to surrender my Spyderco folder to airport security because the line to check my bag was two hours long and the flight my job depended on was forty five minutes from departing. I replaced it with a folding Buck knife I found for $30. It was meant to be a short term replacement until I could find a new Spyderco. It is nowhere near as nice as my Spyderco, but it holds up well to all the abuse I inflict on my daily carry knive. I am growing quite fond of my Buck, not enough to behave like an ass in commentary sections. I promise to step up my Buck love, so I can offer far more entertainment value in the future.
@@Maryland_Kulak you have no idea. As a pilot I have access to the crash ax, but I can't be trusted with a pocket knife. Pilots can jump through hoops and carry a .40 Heckler and Koch on to the plane, but still can't have a pocket knife. They are way to dangerous.
@@GliderBane I know. A friend of mine is an FBI agent. He flew with a pistol but couldn’t have a pocket knife. I was in the Army and used to get on aircraft with my whole platoon carrying M16s and SAW machine guns. None of the aircraft got hijacked. BTW, I have lost my share of things. I left a Leatherman in my carry on luggage in Panama. Lost a Nalgene bottle with a special lid so it probably cost me $40 altogether. It just had water in it. The worst was a Cold Steel tanto that was in my checked baggage as I landed in Korea. It was ostensibly illegal to possess in Korea, but when I got to Osan Air Base I just bought another one at Clothing Sales.
I think the only knife that anyone should consider FOR ANY PURPOSE is the ESPADA XL!!! I don’t know why AKB bothers doing vids in any thing other than the best, the only, the not compensating for anything ESPADA XL.
I have the 119 and the strong arm , both are great knives and pretty useful for everything. If you decide to go for the 119 tape the Handel with hockey tape it gets very slick when gutting a deer. The strong arm sheath is great and it holsters back easy.
Heck yeah new Advanced Knife Bro video! These are some pretty cool knives! I always love hearing you contrasting and comparing views on different knives that are made to fit a similar purpose!
When I was a boy (Old guy voice) Buck was the go to knife. Today, my collection of Buck knives are mostly sharp edged straight slot screw drivers. Not one phillips in the bunch... The tips on a Buck come needle pointed from the factory, but they only last as long as the guy using it remembers not to abuse them. The SRK replaced my 119 several years ago and is actually a handy tool in just about any circumstance. That's my 2 cents from the peanut gallery.
7:15 I'm pretty sure I had a Buck 119 in the very early 80s...or maybe not. I do remember that all I used it for was to throw at trees. I had some Green River thing that I used when I was hunting. I carried both (well, three knives actually) everywhere because we lived in croc country. Everyone carried a big knife on their belts, and had a dog or two with them if they were going down to the river. I didn't have a dog at the time, so I carried three knives, just in case a croc ate two...
Don't get the hate tbh. Your the only knife reviewer I get excited about watching. Can't impulse buy knives anymore cause I'm deployed, but your channel slowly is making me want a fixed blade.
you'd have way better grip on a smooth surface than a textured one, the only problem is when most smooth surfaces get wet. that's when they get "slick" but yeah lmao if it gets slick, just squeeze harder. someone once said you should have a "convulsive" grip on the tool. basically you should be squeezing the grip so hard your knuckles turn white and your hands are shaking.
This is the first video i’ve watched on this channel. By three minutes in i had decided i had found a kindred spirit and perhaps my new favorite knife content creator. Looking forward to watching a lot more of his vids
I always considered my buck 119 to be a hunting knife rather then camping beater knife but I know it can do it if you have to. I typically when hunting use my 119 paired with a bark river fingerling and Buck 301 stockman. When just camping then I'll use my esee 6, Buck 301 stockman and old boker camp knife
I already pulled the trigger on the SRk on special today $32 on where else , the big A. I gotta say I love this guy's humor/sarcasm. Makes me homesick.
This is a great coincidence, I just received my Buck 119 in the mail today, because seeing the new Scream inspired me to order one for some copycat murders I’m planning. I know they use the 120 in movies, but I have no use for something that big. Fun to see it in action in your video today.
Good for you for taking the gradual approach. As great-grandpa used to say, "If you can't kill a man with a Buck 119, then you don't deserve to kill a man with a Buck 120."
@@Thexaios you can do a small job with a big knife, but you cannot do a big job with a small knife. also in a knife fight, or any engagement where one person is using a knife and the other is not, reach is everything. personally i would recommend wearing the 119 in summer and 120 in winter
Yeah man, it's great in the utility/operator role. Knife guys often hate on it, as it is a mediocre knife, but a very good boot scraping hard use tool.
I own the strongarm myself, and I do admit the whole thing is much better suited for gloved use, which happens to fit how I roll. The holster design does especially feel like it's made to be one of those things that are always on you, not always used, but also always ready to be used. I'm quite happy with it personally, and still regard it as worth the price
It's an excellent shit duty utility tool. I get why knife guys generally don't like her, but as a hard use scraping, prying & bashing implement, she's hard to beat.
how could someone say there favorite knife is not on the list? The 119 is Right there! It was good enough for your alcholic grandfather and absent father, it's good enough for you.
As a kid I always wondered why pops 119 always looked like brand new and I know for a fact he always used it hunting fishing and camping trips. Never seen him once sharpen it but the other knives he would. At 20 I used it and it broke. I freaked. He laughed. Then he told me he gets a new one all the time. Shitty rat tail tang snaps on them. They break before they get dull. 🤣
I'd get the Buck for the looks (love it!) and the Cold Steel for the utility and prize while I dream of the Fjällkniven. On the other hand, the most daunting survival situation I could get into is opening a ketchup package at the local burger place and it might be safer to do this with a Victorinox Classic SD on my keychain. 😊
I would add in a Joker Nomad. Not American made but have to admit it's one heck of a NICE knife ! Fit & finish are un-beatable ! As a former Marine, I also like many of the Ka-bars . Best knife for the $$$...? Have to agree w/you, Cold Steel SRK- C
I'm a converted buck knives fan girl I just got sick of breaking the beautiful clip points they love so much so I switched to bark river and falkniven a few years back and have never been happier I'll admit the buck knives are sharp but they don't stay sharp for long I found when I was camping I would have to sharpen my 112 daily now I can process an entire deer and whittle/fire prep and food prep with one of my bark rivers for an entire weekend or a bit more without sharpening them the steel sells itself and is worth spending a bit more upfront also this vid got me to subscribe well done my dude I look forward to seeing more in the future
I used a glass beaker because I locked my keys on my truck and was late for a date. We are married with one kid and one on the way. Glass breakers lead to children.
Excellent review - as always, good info and good humor..."bucking" a whole lot of people as usual...I imagine you did not "endeer" yourself with many folks... :) Did not know the 119 was not full - tang...I thought hunting knives needed to be since dressing game can be tough, the last thing you want is the knife to fail...
You can dress game with a pocket knife, stick tangs are more than enough for hunting. While it's nice to have, having something full tang is pretty unnecessary for most knife tasks
I still prefer the Gerber string arm. It is also deadly thrower from 3- 20 feet for me. At 21 feet straight throw 3 inches into wood. Feels very good in hand
i saw the strongarm in the thumb nail and was disappointed when it wasn't in a better spot on the list, I've never had something bad happen to it with me. I use it as a camping knife for batoning split logs down to smaller pieces. never failed me and is just as sharp as the day I got it. I love the grip, feels sturdy and comfortable, with and without gloves. i really cant give any credit to the idea that you'll hurt yourself on the glass breaker though. I've never has anything even resembling a problem
I EDC a Tracker knife, and for what I need it’s perfect. I live in the middle of nowhere so I’m constantly splitting wood, carving, gutting, notching, and starting fires. I’ve never owned a blade that I thought was perfect, my philosophy has always been that a blade that does it’s intended purpose good is a good blade. So I exercise caution when a knife has multiple functions, because more often than not, it will do several mediocre functions but none better than the other. Instead I’d much rather have a simple blade that does one thing, and that one thing good. The Tracker is the only exception to my rule so far. It is so versatile and useful in many facets that I’ve been pleasantly surprised by it during each use. Just an amazing blade.
Full disclosure - I’m neither a bushcrafter nor a knife bro. But, I just bought the SRK with the hunter safety orange handle and it’s pretty sweet. It’s a knife I can carry and it cuts things that I need to cut while working in my garage, toiling in the backyard, or surprising the occasional mugger. I’m bummed to learn that I may not be able to break the window of my truck when I’m upside down in a pond, so I’ll just concentrate on my driving when I have it with me. Thank you for the warning. Also, you had me laughing my ass off with the commentary. Upvoted and subscribed.
I have the Gerber Prodigy which is also made in USA but doesn't have that aggressive pattern in the handle. A great knife to be sure. After your video, I'm glad I never found the time to pick up the Strong arm
@JackG79 funny enough, I picked up the strong up a few months ago. It's now strapped to my bug out bag. Lol it's a great knife like the other USA made Gerbers.
Not really a knife guy, I did get my first good lock-blade "gravity" knife in 1968 for under $10. A K-55-K Mercator. Carried that sucker everywhere. It was great for tooling 'round Fun City. Got me outta more than a few scrapes. A swell subway knife. Still have it though it's retired now.
This Video has really the feel like you older ones… I had a blast watching it. All those fixed blades I’ve wondered about especially the Fallkniven… I think that would have been my choice… Great Job as always 😊
So many emotions pass the revue while watching these videos. Love the cynicism dealing with unintellectual superficialists who seem to not be the sharpest tools in the shed. So thanks. Thanks for this video. And the reviews. And the other. Things. Content. Keep up.
0:11 "ok maybe like 5 or 6 people" that has to be the most honest statement among all these 'the viewers have asked me everytime what I do in X situation, so I'm finally going to tell you'. NO Karen, no one asked you. Kuddos man for your honesty
Stumbled upon your video here while looking up information on the Strongarm. I have to say that your commentary is absolute gold and if we had more folks like you in this world, I probably wouldn’t hate people nor despise being around them nearly as much. I was seriously dying when you said “Internet tabletop survivalists”, “culture war commandos” and “backyard hair gel bros”. Then when I’d stop laughing long enough to be able to breathe and wipe the tears from my eyes, you snuck in the easter egg gems like “Classes on the UA-cam” and “Tactical cosplay”. Well played mate 🤣👊. Admittedly, I do like the look of the coyote Strongarm and the sheath is pretty badass too with its mounting options. I will probably get one and since my frontcountry and backcountry camping kits are being built around durable military surplus items (recently purchased a British DPM military surplus 100L Bergen and will be picking up the Tennier Industries modular sleep system in the new year) I’m sure the Strongarm will be more than capable of completing the tasks at hand while I am camping.
Hey can I ask for a recommendation? I'm not a hunter, an outdoorsy guy, or a bushcrafter(I hate building plants), but let's say I find myself in the deep woods and get into a bearfight, Leonardo DiCaprio style. What's the best knife to stab a bear with? I want something that impresses it.
Yeah, I think "impressing the bear to death" is your best bet in that situation. Maybe something like a Cold Steel Grosse Messer, it's right there in the name - big knife - pretty sure all bears speak German so shouting "I'll get my Grosse Messer out if you don't piss off" should do the trick just fine. Good luck. :)
I've been collecting knives for a long time. Something I learned in retail shipping and receiving there are about 3 co. That makes eyeglass frames same with disposable razors and a number of other products. The difference is per customer. I have knives and swords , machetes , hatchet, tomahawks made by off brands same steel and grips. There are variances in the skabbered or sheaths and accessories that is it. Half to a quarter of the price.
You remind me of myself so much it’s eerie. We’re both dry and cynical and don’t take this all too seriously. We’re the same age and we both like beer and both probably get chronic constipation and we just enjoy living in our own little worlds allowing limited access to who we let in. Cheers, hombre
Last place for the Gerber may not be wrong but I actually bought mine for the sheath placement versatility. I wanted a fast grab survivor that wouldn't fall out until I wanted it to.
I just bought one for my first real knife from a recommendation of a co-worker. 3 main reasons for it. 1. I don’t carry it for self-defense, that’s what my bang is for. 2. Fixed blade for the added strength for cutting wood and the like. 3. Cheap. Only knife I’ll be paying more than $80 for is from a Leatherman. And that’s not just a knife.
I enjoyed your sense of humor while watching your video. I was raised to keep my opinions to myself especially if you didn’t have anything positive to say. I know some people have a false sense of bravado when they can talk trash without any consequences!!! I enjoyed your presentation on the knives you selected. I still have a Camillus pilot survival knife that I received when I was 8 from my uncle who was in the Navy. I took it to Cambodia in 1970 and still use it today. I feel most people should find a knife that fits their hand and is comfortable to use… you mentioned that in your video. Then they should use it to understand what they can do with it. Thanks again for your opinions… they were accurate. I guess I’m the one who uses a belt clip for my phone, but I don’t butt-dial or have a broken screen. 👍😎
You might be amused to hear that, for some incomprehensible reason, Amazon cannot send an SRK (and only the SRK) to Northern California. Apparently Bladehq has no such restriction.
The SRK and Fallkniven handles are tough to beat when living in wet conditions like the Pacific Northwest. Micarta and wood look cool but don't cut it, pun intended.
First, your videos are awesome. The humor crackes me up. I had the Gerber Strongarm but returned it. I feel like for what is offered the price point should be half of what it is. It seems like with a lot of camping abuse it wouldn't do well.
@Nelle Hgit the Gerber Strongarm costs $20 more than the most expensive Ontario Spec Plus series knife. Those knives will all outlast the Strongarm, have comfortable handles, and are some of the most durable knives on the market. They are carbon steel, so they need to be oiled occasionally. There's no way a 420HC knife is going to be even half as tough as a thick 1075 knife, from a more reputable company.
Absolute a brilliant video. Great humour! We all love our blades and there is a brand that each one of the blade lovers prefer - that just works for what you want it to do. Fixed blade or folder, as long as you have one close to you when you need it.
I got a Buck 119 at Walmart for $30 last year. It's pretty sharp and looks badass. Do you use the Buck 119 to shave your legs? It's a great look for you! You should keep on doing it!
Great video, I really enjoy your style. And Fallkniven knives. When I've played the If I Ever Win The Lottery game in the past, the high end Fallknivens are on my fantasy list. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Dude, your video is great. Looking at the SRK because I've been sleeping on knives for almost 8 years. Discovered I could get an SRK for sub $40 and started looking around for reviews if it is decent. Don't worry about the crappy comments brother.
But what about 'urban' survival knives? Like you know the places most people are trying to 'survive' in. Maybe one with a compartment for a hidden $20 bill or something.
Since I have two of the knives you have presented you are obviously a font of knife wisdom. I also agree with your comments about folders. I do not see the issue about batoning. I carry a hatchet on my pack and another in my vehicle. A lot easier
Hey i made it in the top 100..or so...to like and comment.God do i feel special and lucky..kinda like finding that low number semi custom signature now discontinued top shelf steel from the most popular designer in the world with a case of cold brewskis to boot knife..NOT boot knife...TO BOOT knife❣yayyyyyyy me
"Tactical Cosplay" LOL! It instantly reminded me of a news report showing breathless, pot-bellied militia grunts trying to right themselves after a roll in the leaves, followed by an attempt at shooting enemy soda bottles. Loved this much needed vid by and for the "everyman". My favorite Buck is the 105 Pathfinder. It's been the only hunting and camping knife that's given occasional relief to my original 1944-45 USMC Ka-Bar that's served me perfectly for 52 years. I still like to see what's available but stop myself from purchases because I'm so satisfied with what I have. If I ever submit to temptation, the SRK would be my next choice since I've witnessed so many tip breaks on the expensive Falkniven. The Strongarm would be a good glove box knife, but so would a dozen less expensive folders or multitools.
@ Steakfrie - I suggest going for the Cold Steel Recon Tanto instead of the SRK. It's the same knife, but a tanto blade. The tip is extremely strong, as the spine thickness goes all the way to the tip. The knife is about 1" longer than the SRK, and $10 more. I'm mentioning it because you brought up tip strength as an important factor. I bought both the SRK and Recon Tanto. I returned the SRK, because the Recon Tanto serves more purposes. To be honest, I prefer the Recon Tanto to my standard Ka-Bar, which was double the cost of my CS Recon Tanto.
@@DDDYLN I appreciate the recommendation but I don't see myself converting to a tanto blade. As a carver I'm much more accustomed to a drop or clip point. I'd also have to consider the ease of resharpening. As well, longer doesn't make a better carver.
Lol'ed a few times, you're in fine form. As a former citizen, I died at "different parts of Southern Missouri." Question: what knife did you use to baton the wood at the beginning?
I have two Fallkniven A1s that are my go to survival knives. They are the best I have found (so far). And I've owned most of the big names in bushcraft except Esse and Busse. Good video, and I agree with your placement.
I broke my srk on the first use (blade started separating from the handle with light batoning). Was super disappointed because I heard such great things about it. I have several strong arms and they have been beaten and battered more than any other of my higher end fixed blades. Never had an issue with them. The handles are a little uncomfortable after some hard use, but definitely not the worst. Different experiences I suppose.
@@AdvancedKnifeBro Oh the blade is great, that’s what drew me to it. Holds a pretty good edge to. But like you said in the video, molded handles can be iffy if not done right. I’ve learned to love what I love in the community, and not chase what people say I should. Had more failures with the brands people say I should go for. Just pisses ya off more when those failures are on 200$ pieces. Great video as always brother! Comedic timing on point as always. 🍻
@@hunterglaspell5580 I’ve heard more people say the handles failed doing light work with them. I’ve had a few Gerbers in the past do the same that turn me away from the strongarm.

Fuck the government. 9/11 would have never happened if we could carry guns on planes.
Amazon is full of fake knives made in China never buy from these online UA-cam reviewers buy from the factory!
Baseball bat tape is very good, but more expensive than hockey tape.
😂
Who ever writes your vid script needs a raise 😂 was 4x more entertaining to watch than most knife vids regardless of knives being reviewed. 👍
LOVE this video... and your brand of humour... stuff like «hang it upside down on your kevlar vest for your tactical cosplay...» is priceless.
Completely misread the title, swore it said "5 Bipolar knives on Amazon" lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Thexaios Always good to listen to the wisdom of the old-timers
@@Thexaios wtf this quote is really scary 😂
@@Thexaios you can do a small job with a big knife, but you cannot do a big job with a small knife. also in a knife fight, or any engagement where one person is using a knife and the other is not, reach is everything. personally i would recommend wearing the 119 in summer and 120 in winter
@@jhanks2012 If i'm going to stay anatomically correct, I have to carry the 220.
The strong arm served me well overseas as a sharpen prybar and great for snakes. In my opinion great military knife but meh for survival
Yeah man, it's great in the utility/operator role. Knife guys often hate on it, as it is a mediocre knife, but a very good boot scraping hard use tool.
Your brutal honesty earned a subscription from me. I find it quite entertaining lol. Great video. Great channel.
I prefer the Prodigy but very very similar knives.
I have all those knives,I still would go with the Falkniven
how could someone say there favorite knife is not on the list? The 119 is Right there! It was good enough for your alcholic grandfather and absent father, it's good enough for you.
As a kid I always wondered why pops 119 always looked like brand new and I know for a fact he always used it hunting fishing and camping trips. Never seen him once sharpen it but the other knives he would. At 20 I used it and it broke. I freaked. He laughed. Then he told me he gets a new one all the time. Shitty rat tail tang snaps on them. They break before they get dull. 🤣
I really love my Laser Strike, but it's the only one of these I own, so I found this vid really useful. Thanks for taking the time to make it!
The f1 really isn’t that great of a blade
I would add in a Joker Nomad. Not American made but have to admit it's one heck of a NICE knife ! Fit & finish are un-beatable ! As a former Marine, I also like many of the Ka-bars . Best knife for the $$$...? Have to agree w/you, Cold Steel SRK- C
God I miss your bamboo garden. Brings back wonderful batoning memories!MediaAssistantLabel
I grew up in the south in the late 70s early 80s. When you turned 18 they would issue you a Buck 110 or 119......that and the lyrics to "Freebird."

I’m a fixed blade guy myself but I got respect for all the folder bros out there
Excellent review - as always, good info and good humor..."bucking" a whole lot of people as usual...I imagine you did not "endeer" yourself with many folks...
Never change your sarcastic video style it’s what keeps me coming back
I still prefer the Gerber string arm. It is also deadly thrower from 3- 20 feet for me. At 21 feet straight throw 3 inches into wood. Feels very good in hand
I clicked because I saw the Laser Strike. He helped me decide to buy my own a couple years ago. Great knife
We all know which one Uncle Randy would pick. And Ghostface when he wants a slightly more concealable option.
You Sir are a gem. In a treasure troll gem kind of way... But none the less a gem. Don't ever change...
i saw the strongarm in the thumb nail and was disappointed when it wasn't in a better spot on the list, I've never had something bad happen to it with me.
🤷♂️ we can’t all like the same things. I prefer a basic comfortable handle.
@@AdvancedKnifeBro yeah to each thier own
He’s saying it’s not good because it’s trendy to hate on and his name is knifebro
Batoning is like cowbell, you can never have enough of it!
Thank you!!!
I have the Gerber Prodigy which is also made in USA but doesn't have that aggressive pattern in the handle. A great knife to be sure. After your video, I'm glad I never found the time to pick up the Strong arm
StrongArm is a great knife. Anyone saying otherwise is going against hundreds maybe even thousands of reviewers experiences.
@JackG79 funny enough, I picked up the strong up a few months ago. It's now strapped to my bug out bag. Lol it's a great knife like the other USA made Gerbers.
@@Narrow_Gate_Forge I agree man!!
Your ability to review these items with boat loads of humor is freaking entertaining as fudge!
My fixed blade folds up into a shovel but is strangely absent from this review, what gives?
Great selection of knives
Not really a knife guy, I did get my first good lock-blade "gravity" knife in 1968 for under $10. A K-55-K Mercator. Carried that sucker everywhere. It was great for tooling 'round Fun City. Got me outta more than a few scrapes. A swell subway knife. Still have it though it's retired now.
Your insights and comedy are a breath of fresh air, don't change your winning recipe!!🔥
This Video has really the feel like you older ones… I had a blast watching it. All those fixed blades I’ve wondered about especially the Fallkniven… I think that would have been my choice… Great Job as always 😊
You do the most thorough reviews on the knives
So many emotions pass the revue while watching these videos. Love the cynicism dealing with unintellectual superficialists who seem to not be the sharpest tools in the shed. So thanks. Thanks for this video. And the reviews. And the other. Things. Content. Keep up.
Dude is freakin Arrogant as hell playa
This is the first video of yours that I've seen. The sarcasm had me subbing two minutes in.
0:11 "ok maybe like 5 or 6 people" that has to be the most honest statement among all these 'the viewers have asked me everytime what I do in X situation, so I'm finally going to tell you'. NO Karen, no one asked you. Kuddos man for your honesty
I have the Esee. I like it a lot.
There’s a bunch of subtle humor going on here. Great video and I don’t say that often
Trailmaster Bowie!
Just rewatched that movie yesterday. What a brutal scene. I'd go with something big and crazy from cold steel.
Good luck. :)
Quite possibly the finest Video.... title and thumbnail I've ever seen!
Absolutely hilarious and informative! One of your best videos in while! Keep up the great work Advanced!!
Love my Fällkniven F1 and WM1... considering how much I use them compared to my other knives I would say they are better value than the rest.
Exactly the strongarm is a tactical knife not really a survival knife.
Southern California too currently. However that’s not entirely accurate that’s where I bought this last year.
He’s right though. It said it for me when I looked yesterday. It said it can’t be shipped to your location.
My kind of review: smart, sarcastic and genuine (without taking yourself too seriously).
''sarcastic and genuine'' mkay
Great knife review. I enjoyed your honesty about each one. Keep them coming ! 😀
Love your tongue in cheek and entertaining yet useful review :)
Absolute a brilliant video. Great humour! We all love our blades and there is a brand that each one of the blade lovers prefer - that just works for what you want it to do. Fixed blade or folder, as long as you have one close to you when you need it.
“Nobody in the other campsites, will ever talk to me. Which is fine because I hate people.”
I can definitely relate.
Scream built an entire movie around the Buck 119 .....

🤓☝actually the 120
cool comparison ... really liked the "hey - this is what i found" kind of straightforward approach
I got a Buck 119 at Walmart for $30 last year. It's pretty sharp and looks badass. Do you use the Buck 119 to shave your legs? It's a great look for you! You should keep on doing it!
I actually use all my knives to shave my legs when I sharpen them. Only place I have hair other than my head And balls
Great video, I really enjoy your style. And Fallkniven knives. When I've played the If I Ever Win The Lottery game in the past, the high end Fallknivens are on my fantasy list. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Hey, do a vid on what knife for volcano eruptions. Might come in handy 😏
Best urban survival knife for low drag. A folder on your keychain. No one thinks twice (except TSA) about a blade on a set of keys.
Lol. The esse. Take out the rod n crap in the handle. Roll up a 20. 🤣. When you out looting in urban areas you can get a bic for fire.

As a former citizen, I died at "different parts of Southern Missouri."
Question: what knife did you use to baton the wood at the beginning?
Other knives seen… Esee 3 and Kabar Dogs head utility. Probably the kabar- i did a video of both.
I mean I’ve broken an Esee. It’s only a problem I guess if it’s a pattern. Sometimes there’s a bad piece of steel?
@@AdvancedKnifeBro Oh the blade is great, that’s what drew me to it. Holds a pretty good edge to. But like you said in the video, molded handles can be iffy if not done right. I’ve learned to love what I love in the community, and not chase what people say I should. Had more failures with the brands people say I should go for. Just pisses ya off more when those failures are on 200$ pieces. Great video as always brother! Comedic timing on point as always. 🍻
