Q&A with Zeke (the Dad):
Q: What do you wish you had packed that you didn’t?
Zeke: I've been ultralight packing for a long time -- over 100 trips by now to all different climates and with stays of all different lengths -- so I've got it pretty dialed in. But I still learn something on just about every trip. For example, I've never owned a strap/band for my sunglasses. You know, those things that keep them from falling of your head. It was so lovely and sunny there I wore my sunglasses to float in the ocean. Next thing you know, a wave plucks them right off my face. They're really nice sunglasses and I felt like a dope. Fortunately my wife is a superhero and when she went in the ocean about 20 minutes later, she found them!
Q: Is there an item that you packed that you didn’t end up using?
Zeke: I picked up these really cool looking swim trunks for the trip. Turned out they are good pool trunks but terrible ocean trunks! The first big wave rendered the Velcro useless and my trunks around my ankles! Needless to say, we went to a shop and got a proper pair of board shorts for the rest of the trip.
Q: Question for all three of you: what was your favorite part of the trip?
The Wife: Shutting off and relaxing on the beach.
The Husband: The ocean. Floating for hours and hours in the ocean -- and getting to spend quality time with my family.
The Son: Shaved ice for breakfast!
Q: Your trip seemed like the ideal mix of exploring and just totally relaxing by doing nothing. Does that come naturally to you guys or do you have to make an effort to unwind?
Zeke: We're a type A family. So if we're going to relax we have to work at it. And we're going make sure we do a darn good job of it, too. :)
This is really travelling light, and carefree! Loved seeing some different bags and accessories to consider.
I’ve been a one bag traveler since I got my first Aeronaut about 12 years ago. Still use my Founder’s briefcase or my Ristretto as everyday bags and my Western Flyer, Tristar or Aeronaut when travelling. Worst thing about TB bags? They never wear out, so you don’t get to replace them!
This is a nice video! I also love packing lightly while using my favorite travel bag, my Nomad Lane Bento Bag! It is a very stylish duffel bag that packs like a suitcase! It is a must have bag!
Zeke’s family travel videos are the best things on your channel. Please send them on trips several times per year just so they can make more and more of these!

Thanks for the inspiration, you are almost as crazy as Artis Guru - that guy has only 3 items in his bag(!)... What do you think from your experience, is it even realistically possible?
What color is that bluish purple? I LOVE it!
That's our Deep Blue! It looks like a true blue in real life (not as much purple).
Spiral Breeze was it the dawn? its like a periwinkle, looks great with the burnt orange
The son only took two T shirts but three shorts and he took a MASSIVE book and an e reader,it makes no sense! How long was this trip supposed to be ?? the Dad took 3 T shirts but only one shorts, if they were supposed to be flying then all liquids should have been together ...
