  • SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR A HEALTHY GLOWY SKIN | I WENT VIRAL ON TIKTOK | GLORY ELIJAH
    Hello Loves,
    On this video, I shared the details of the drama I caused on Tiktok last week whilst showing you my skincare routine for a healthy glowy skin. Fam, I literally went viral on Tiktok for asking where some of our Nigerian Celebs buy their Hermes Birkin. This is a robust conversation and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this conversation.
    Cheers💚

    Glory, I love you irrespective of your skin condition, beautiful, good, bad or ugly. What i admired most about you is your intellectual, what you have in your brain not your look at all. I admired your audacity, eloquence, the way you view contents, the way you handle criticists and above all ' The fact that you are growing in your career'. For me, these are most paramount for me. That doest mean I don't admire beauty, I do, afterall, am also a beautiful lady both inside and outside. ❤

    😂😂😂😂 Glory, on the Birkin bags, the story is partially true,the closed door sales happens mainly when the brand has limited edition of some of thier bags to show off, the loyal clients are giving audience first before everyone else..
    There's a store in Dubai that houses the diamond birkin editions and all you can do is just admire from the showglass,you can't even get to view if u're not known....The life of the Rich i must say..

    I remember a few years back that Linda Ikeji had to pull a post down because she had what were clearly fake Hermes bags. I think you are a bit unclear on some of the specifics though and maybe that's why people felt you did not fully understand. The comedian in the video is also talking from his experience which from the way he is talking, might be the reason he is not getting the outcome he wants. Spending thousands will not necessarily get you a bag. Honestly, Asian and North American buyers have a certain reputation in Europe when it comes to getting a quota bag. There are many resellers and Hermes obviously doesn't want that and many many of those resellers are Asian resellers. So all that spending money to get a Birkin is not necessarily true. You could walk right in and its your lucky day and get a bag. On average, North Americans tend to think that because they have the money, they can walk into any place and should be able to get what they want. Wrong!!!! I can assure you that with that attitude, you will probably never get one. The Kardashians have a ton of Hermes bags but they are clearly not buying from Hermes. Definitely from resellers. For those of us who want one but will not play the game, the craziness or the hype of it as a status symbol is what makes it a turn off. If I find someone to design a good bag for me with that vibe I would jump on the offer. I saw a video of a pastor gifting Eniola Badmus a Birkin but it was actually a fake Kelly. Very fake it hurt. The joy of getting a bag for me is just really owning a piece of art. The kind of work that goes into making these bags and the waiting for one that meets all your requirements is something that many Africans could probably relate with from back in the day. You have a quality piece of fashion accessory made and when it breaks you do not throw it away. You send it in to be repaired and you continue using it and even pass it on to children. You have gold jewelry and you never just stop using it and if you get bored with it, you could have a jeweler redesign it. A good quality leather shoe never got thrown away because there's a shoemaker (cobbler) on every corner. Today in Nigeria, you know that there is that tailor every one wants to use and if there's a big event in town, you have to put in that request months in advance just so that person is the one making your dress. That's what you get when you get a Hermes bag. Not many fashion houses really do that. So when I see videos with the fake Birkins, my thing is why not just buy a Chanel? With Birkins its not just about how it looks in pictures, its also about the heritage, the craftmanship etc. So, I see why you will raise your nose in the air and laugh at some of these things because it is true that they are mostly fake and because these bags tend to be significantly more expensive when you buy it from resellers, you would have to have JLo and Kardashian money to have many bags. A gold on gold Birkin 30 is about $12,000 from Hermes but it will run you around $20,000 from a reseller and that is on the low side.

    OMG glory please dont use glycolic acid it’s an AHA it can easily be a melanocytes trigger for us skin of color use BHA (salycilic acid) instead is has bigger molecules so it doesn’t penetrate as much AHAs as it does the same job just in a safer way. Love you!❤

    • @dorismalachi7513
      @dorismalachi7513 10 місяців тому +2

      Please stop with the fear mongering and ignorant comments. There is nothing wrong with skin of colour using it. It’s about the concentration and ensuring good sun protection. As with all acids, it should mainly be used at night depending on the strength (avoid using if skin will be exposed to the sun)

    • @skincarejunkie6524
      @skincarejunkie6524 10 місяців тому

      Please go and read more about AHAs and BHAs, and what acids with smaller molecules do the skin (they penetrate more hence triggering our melanocytes) With skin of color you need to be extra careful to avoid hyperpigmentation. Yes there’s sunscreen but not everyone is capable of reapplying after 2-3hrs and for chemical sunscreen, it does more damage to your skin when it wears off and you don’t reapply and Ofcourse mineral sunscreens are not meant for skin of color coz it leaves white cast from the zinc formulation very few are formulated to suit our skin and a lot of chemical sunscreens out there now are not fragrance free which is also a big ❌so You can go ahead and use you glycolic acid if it works for you. I’m just suggesting a SAFER option that equally does the job. So please I’m not ignorant about this, I personally choose NAFE SAFE in skin care that’s if you know what I mean, I’d suggest you educate yourself about it then comeback for a response that’s only if I see you’re actually knowledgeable otherwise have fun replying my comment coz aint gonna entertain ignorance.

    • @dorismalachi7513
      @dorismalachi7513 10 місяців тому +1

      @skincarejunkie6524 it seems that you are slow. Glycolic acid is suitable for dark skin. As i previously stated, the problem is not glycolic acid it's people not understanding the strength/percentage that works best for them and also overusing it. According to research, people with darker skins are able to have glycolic acid peels ranging from 20-50% without any adverse effect when performed by a licenced professional trained in understanding skin of colour. Additionally, it was found that the use of glycolic acid led to a decrease in PIH. Skin of colour is also able to handle using glycolic acid of up to 10% on a daily basis in either a lotion or a toner. I myself use a 10% lotion on a daily basis with no adverse effects, and I am a black woman
      Please read below some research from academic trials and practising dermatologists because I refuse to go back and forth with someone who has shown themselves to be ignorant.
      Glycolic acid peel therapy - a current review ( a review from the national library of medicine)
      Glycolic acid for the skin (Medical news today)
      Peels in darker skin ( color atlas of chemical peels)
      I can cite many more research but I believe from the few I've given you, you should be able to better your reasoning.
