That's good video. You should hit berryessa for crappie. Just as big. Check out the crappie tournament on March 9th. Capell Cove. 6am check in 7am blast off.
I have been playing around with Crappie at Berry but mostly bass. I mentioned the crappie tournament in this week's video coming out Wednesday. I won't be able to fish it but passed on the word.
Thanks for the nice report. Any luck targeting the roaming schools in deep water with your forward looking sonar? I know they are often quite elusive and hard to keep up with and stay on em. Did you use a split-shot above your 1/8 oz jigs? Fluorocarbon or straight mono? Six pound test line? Thanks again for reporting on one of my favorite species to target.
The roaming schools I just casted ahead of them. I only target the schools coming at me not the ones leaving me. More time to get a second cast since they usually cruise fast. If I notice there are several schools cruising I will just hold still and let them come to me. No split shot just 1/8 jighead and 8 to 10 flour coated line. Also for the roamers throw jerkbaits. You can turn the whole school to come to you.
Awesome video guys!!! Thanks and we’re heading to Clearlake soon
Thank you. And thank you for watching! Keep an eye out for what ramp is open or closed die to high water if your going in the next couple weeks.
NICE!!!!........@CHIPPIN PAINT
💯
Did you keep any? If so ,do you eat them?
I do when I can. I don't always bring a cooler. They are fun to just chase around though.
