They have ALWAYS talked about politics. They have a fucking song named "These colours don´t run" from 2012, and even before they had been talking about these topics, it´s nothing new.
I´ve always loved how their music goes from hopelessness to small amounts of love.

Me too. Although I do get kind of annoyed how they denounce neo-nazis (rightfully so), but turn a blind eye to the mass of neo-marxism infiltrating all levels of society (government, education etc)

you're utterly wrong, each album they tried to talk about in different ways, Daybreaker was some kind of more litteral lyrics, LF//LT stands outs for a lot of analogy, and subjectivity, and some deep songs like Naysayer and many others, and finnaly AOGHAU, just Nihilist talks on a much more deep level, its just a shot right in the eye, they kinda of humillated every fucking one on this planet, and it felt good to hear the ultimate TRUTH behind our egoistical, narcisist, egocentrical competitive minds
you must understand first that Tom was a great writter, very intelligent and sarcastic, he knew very well how to put you in the fire line, and make everyone part of this mess we see everywhere
When Tom took over lyrics from Daybreaker, yes. I really miss the more personal Sam lyrics, especially in Hollow Crown.
