  • I was given this Kitcehnaid from someone who was throwing it away. I figured it was at least an opportunity to tear it apart, but it turned out it was fixable.

    The video skips a step. There is a pin that has to be punched out just before the double screwdriver is used to remove the mixer shaft.

      Yes, you must tap out that pin which holds that planetary gear in place. It is directional, so give it some taps (with a punch) one way and if it doesn't start to move, turn it around and tap it the other way.

    Generally, no power at all, check your brushes. Power and no attachment movement, nylon worm gear needs to be changed. Mixer pulses or runs for a few seconds and then stops, change phase control board. Speed fluctuates or doesn't run at full speed, try to adjust speed control plate or replace it. You must calibrate speed control after removing the plate for any reason. Hope this helps someone.

    I normally replace the grease every 2 to 3 years. It will separate and will get wet causing drips inside and sometimes out. And I would buy a new cable is cheap and easy to replace with the 90 angle connectors. Good job by the way.

    I’ve got the beauty ring off my Artisan tilt head. But there not that much space to pry two screwdrivers in between and it’s just not wanting to budge. Is it possible my doesn’t detach? I don’t want to break it

    • @AnotherMaker
      @AnotherMaker  8 місяців тому

      I can't say for 100% sure but I'm pretty sure it has to detach. Mine was a pain

      @JazzyPhay15 There’s pin that has to be punched out before prying, not shown or mentioned in this video.

      @@AnotherMakerPeople use a screw driver to force it down, but this can easily scratch it. I prefer to use something made of plastic. I used some tools that are made for removing trim pieces for car stereo installation. Works perfect without scratching.
