I just watched this for the second time today; part of it is the technical side and part of it is imagining how I would handle things around my wife, if I were married. You guys do a great job on both fronts, way to solve things with humor
Genius the way you built and installed the staircase. Those things will last forever. Amazing how you accomplished the stairs so quickly and perfectly.
So happy for you both. My first girl grandchild, Natalie' arrived almost a year ago on April 21st. I turned 80 just two weeks ago !! I have followed you both on your adventure and enjoy every moment.Riley, you are an amazingly creative person and Courtenay is so cool driving the various machines. When is your baby due ?
Another amzaing feat. Yes, there was one OOPS, but no bandaid and no person was hurt, so excellent job. It will be interesting how you baby proof the deck. Until next time, happy end of February, and work safe.
Nice job on the stairs your child is going to be talking to somebody 40 years from now and say my dad mom put this stairs here and I hope you keep it weather coded to prevent any rust and thank you for the video I'll be watching for the next one you have my thumbs up🤠🥳😍👍👍👍🤙🤙👶🇺🇸
You two continue to overcome each challenge. Your so entertaining and innovative. Thanks for sharing your life with us lowlanders in Boise and worldwide. Ray in Boise
Just as a heads-up for those stairs , the type of metal the steps are made out of are great for humans but bad for dogs , their claws can get caught in the holes and they can rip their claws out with it stuck in it , so you might want to add some outdoor carpeting on part of the steps just to give the dogs a path to walk safely on
Two of our dogs lost claws on the steps of the RV we bought to live in while our house was being built. One of them lost root and all and later died from the infection it caused. 😞 Unfortunately, the worst risk of snagging is going down the steps, which means their entire weight and momentum is working against them. Guaranteed injury.
Y’all are so kind to one another in each accepting blame for the little hole. I had a boss that used to say, “If you’re not making mistakes you’re not trying hard enough.”
You can get resperator cartridges and also disposable respirators for welding on galvanized but around here we just take the other approach and just grind the galvanized where we need to weld.
Scared me a bit when I read the title, glad the hole wasn't something more significant and that you were able to replace that one piece. The stairs look incredible, love the use of those tred! They're so nice for wet/icy spots. Well done, turned out beautifully. You both absolutely killed it on the equipment, that was a genuinely tight fit. Garage door is really getting a nice patina too! Looking great you guys!
What a nice staircase! I suffer from over-engineering most projects. I've really enjoyed watching your problem-solving and solutions come to life. A tractor with pallet forks has been critical.
Great job! If you did not know, when cutting and welding galvanized metal, drink lots of milk. The calcium bonds to the galvanice particles and flushes it from your body. Keep up the good work and have fun!
Beautiful job designing, cutting and welding the stairs! Amazing how well your Teamwork hoisted the stairs to their final position - awaiting bolting. Look forward to your next adventure putting protection around your upstairs patio.
I can only imagine the anxiety insatlling that stair gave you both along with the relief when it was secured, in the end you both did awesome again and even managed to video it. Careful with your back brother and thank you again for an awesome video. Such a great winter.
Need a covered high pressure fan that you can easily open/close. Maybe one of those large window mount swamp coolers, cut a hole in the wall on the opposite side of the garage, install it with easily removable insulated covers for winter. That little box fan just isn't enough.
You two are amazing!! Riley you will need to teach a class when your kids are in middle and high school on how to do all this stuff. What a valuable skill
Is there anything you two can't do? I'm nominating you for president, either of you. Really love watching the videos of two supremely talented and genuinely nice people. It's such a comfort to know young people such as yourselves exist in this crazy world. Good luck in all you do and baby too.
I know I don't know you from the snow on the ground but so happy for you and proud of how you work together and leave the real life fails in. Thank you.
nice job i am proud of both of you!! courtney be careful use extra caution do not fall!!! the stairs look great and an extra exit!!it will be used a lot!!
As to punching a hole in your building,,, STUFF happens. You two are the must productive young couple that I know on UA-cam. It can be fixed, and you have the skills to fix it! Do not be so hard on yourself, You are human, and humans make mistrakes!
What I find amazing with you guys is the “togetherness” and positive attitude no matter what you’re facing. I’m an aerospace engineer for over 30 years and I wish our departments could have this kind of cooperation project to project. I enjoy every obstacle and solution you guys come up with. This should be college stuff right here😊
That non slip Grip Strut plank is not cheap but it’s an excellent choice for your location. We build industrial staircases out of it. We order it precut so we have no waste and it only costs a few bucks per tread.
What a thrill to land on the Ambition Strikes channel. Riley's parents and grandparents are old friends and during our last visit, we heard all about thieir UA-cam channel,. But you can't capture the energy and ingenuity of their projects and video quality without clicking on it. This is an only-in-America experience that will energize any DIYer. Thanks Riley & Courtney for sharing your unique lives with the world! Grandpa Harry is watching you! Christi and I are rooting for you, too.
good night Courtney and Realy, every day it is nice to see everything you are building and improving your beautiful home. when the baby arrives he will have a wonderful home.
I am always amazed at how you two manage to design, build and install such fantastic things with little to no problems. I wish I had those skills and abilities when I was younger and building things for myself. Keep up the great work guys.
That staircase is far beyond residential standards👍. I used to work for a fabricator that made, among other things, robotic platforms using the same materials you used. It will outlast many generations of use.
Dang, 302K now. You guys are killing it. Sorry to see the camper go, but understand too. At 13:45 in the vid I saw a really bad crack!! I was thinking off road jack the whole time, then finally,,,,,,,,,,, Yes, having equipment is SO nice!! Great job and they look great too.
Yup....you kids are BOSS! You bring much joy to all of us who love to watch your amazing projects and progress. Amazing skills for being so young. Well done, again.
When you mentioned building stairs, and not using wood, I was thinking you were going to do the cuts on the ground, then build the stairs from the bottom after installing the sides. When I saw you built it on the ground, I was thinking you would put it in on it's side, then rotate it and lift it. The way you did it, I didn't see it, but it worked. Not only that, it looked way easier AND more safe than what I was thinking as I watched. It seems like everything you do, in this build is designed for ease of the next step, even if it's an unplanned step. This is why I really like this channel. And Courtney, I'm sorry to say, it's not mud season yet. There's going to be mud, but you still have the thaw coming like around March/April.
I love these stairs! I am very impressed by the welding that occurs during this episode and others. Now both my wife and I are hooked on your channel. Keep up the good work and be safe!
Hi kids I have this attachment for a skid steer called a snatch pole. It is basically a eight foot pole that extends in front of the skid steer for lifting objects up high. Once you have it you will wonder how you lived without it. It is very simple and easy to build. (Riley has far better fabrication skills than I ever will. Mercifully I only had to tack it together and my step son welded it for me...he is a real deal welder) I have the plans for the one I built in Solidworks but I could export them to something you could import to Sketchem. I can send you the drawings and export the model to a .stp file or something then you could easily modify it for the materials you have on hand. The stairs turned out fantastic.
So glad to see that you now have a second safe way of getting out of the apartment in case something like a fire were to happen. A second means of egress is so important, especially with a young one on the way.
Hi guys! And again congrats on little Riley? Or Cortney? Now that's a tight fit on the stairs! Cant wait to see the finished product! Love your show. Been watching since the camper build. Sad to see her go!
Yeah! It still confuses me that Riley still second guesses himself with his countless successes. Riley you are a rock star buddy. Looks amazing! I agree what did we do before we had equipment. Great team work on using it.
That’s what makes an engineer into a really good engineer. Having to do the actual construction. I once had to build a 24” diameter vent pipe right around a 40 ft diameter object. And install it. Talk about second guessing. Lol.

Riley You never stop to amaze me with your building and fabricating skills. You Two just work together quite well. And the things you produce is awesome. Great job on that stair case! Way to go on shimming it in between them poles. Great job Courtney with the Handling of the machinery.
Great job, Riley. Once again your fabrication skills amaze me. Hopefully the header at the top of the new stairs is strong enough to hold the weight of those stairs. You might want to bolt a steel beam to the back of the wood header.
Next time for galvanized steel welding. Drink a big glass of milk and put a fan to pull fumes and white floaties away towards open door (not infront to blow shielding gas away. The milk helps, I use to weld galvanized and was great when I didn’t have a fresh air hood
Congratulations on the staircase it looks very well done and the tight squeeze should help keep the little one safe. If you get the idea to build anymore steel staircases it might be easier to just weld the first couple and last couple treads before install so it is lighter. Then after its bolted in you could add and weld all the middle treads.
Awesome! Congratulations! I'm still in awe that the garage door works! 🤣 Thanks for sharing all of your incredible projects with us. 🎉 -western NY Aimee

Outdoor carpet is slicker than owl poop when frozen. I'd pass on that idea.
Maybe some outdoor rubber tread (also has holes in it).
maybe aluminum checker plate over the stairs . you lose the holes .
or lose the dogs.
literally my first thought was: I can't go down barefoot haha, second thought was the dogs
