Just as a heads-up for those stairs , the type of metal the steps are made out of are great for humans but bad for dogs , their claws can get caught in the holes and they can rip their claws out with it stuck in it , so you might want to add some outdoor carpeting on part of the steps just to give the dogs a path to walk safely on

    • @markmitchell457
      @markmitchell457 Рік тому +6

Outdoor carpet is slicker than owl poop when frozen. I'd pass on that idea.

Two of our dogs lost claws on the steps of the RV we bought to live in while our house was being built. One of them lost root and all and later died from the infection it caused. 😞 Unfortunately, the worst risk of snagging is going down the steps, which means their entire weight and momentum is working against them. Guaranteed injury.

When you mentioned building stairs, and not using wood, I was thinking you were going to do the cuts on the ground, then build the stairs from the bottom after installing the sides.
When I saw you built it on the ground, I was thinking you would put it in on it's side, then rotate it and lift it.
The way you did it, I didn't see it, but it worked. Not only that, it looked way easier AND more safe than what I was thinking as I watched.
It seems like everything you do, in this build is designed for ease of the next step, even if it's an unplanned step.
This is why I really like this channel.
And Courtney, I'm sorry to say, it's not mud season yet. There's going to be mud, but you still have the thaw coming like around March/April.

    Hi kids
I have this attachment for a skid steer called a snatch pole.
It is basically a eight foot pole that extends in front of the skid steer for lifting objects up high.
Once you have it you will wonder how you lived without it.
It is very simple and easy to build.
(Riley has far better fabrication skills than I ever will.
Mercifully I only had to tack it together and my step son welded it for me...he is a real deal welder)
I have the plans for the one I built in Solidworks but I could export them to something you could import to Sketchem.
I can send you the drawings and export the model to a .stp file or something then you could easily modify it for the materials you have on hand.
    The stairs turned out fantastic.

You have stairs! I didn't realize I was tensed up until the end. My neck hurts LOL. Once again the AS Duo(& poppet) succeed again! Woot!

Wow, you had me worried for a moment…thought you might have to disassemble the stair and then to build it again in situ. Great team effort. Engineering, welding and driving / lifting skills are top notch. Gold stars all round!
