Nutcrackers ONLY see Camera movement and emoting! MOVING AROUND DOES NOT AGGRO THEM!!!!! (I have just learned about this recently)

The nutcrackers are literally my favorite monster ever. Just watching this video to watch footage of them. When i encountered one for the first time it was on a moon with a super super low spawn chance and lost my shit i was so excited. Either way, very good video 😇

I and two other friends and I have been playing Lethal Company petty much since the initial boom, and as we began pursuing higher quotas, it became clear that none of us had managed to kill a nutcracker even once.
Looking to achieve exactly that, I watched this and other videos several times.
Eventually, on the 2nd floor, of rend entrance one of my friends got shot, and the Nutcracker locked onto me next, with no good cover. Earlier, I was explaining that we needed to avoid attempting crouch cheese at all costs, but now there was no other option, O crouched under the first shot and began attacking, I successfully kept the sweet spot distance and baited the last shot, by the time the nut went down all my friends were screaming.
After that, we proceeded to shoot tons of nutcrackers and got a solid quota pb for us.
It was one of the most chaotic and fun moments of LC so far and wouldn't have happened without this guide.
Another thing to note is that when you kill a nutcracker, sometimes the gun will shoot anyways, killing you if its facing you, this causes to bug the nutcracker music to keep playing even when dead, i assume its because of the safety being off when it dies and it shooting by itself in the nut’s hands but i am not 100% sure
Most of the time it's due to latency issue. With poor ping, the game will register the damage a second later, hence the nutcracker can still shoot once more even after it died. I played with someone from UK and it happens all the time. When I host, it's almost never happen.

i made a whole challenge based off of having to kill nutcrackersto meet quota and i banned the crouch cheese and had so many people leave because they thought crouch cheese was the only way to kill nutcrackers
by the way, a stun grenade can actually be really good against nutcrackers, if you do it right, you can beat it down until it is dead, what you need to do is hit it before the stun grenade actually triggers and then you should get enough time for 4 more hits
also fun fact, stunning a nutcracker doesnt just prevent it from walking, if you do it while it is scanning, it actually disables its sense of touch entirely, so it is possible to assassinate one with a stun grenade by walking alongside the back of its real eye
the timing on that can be tricky, it's a bit easier to whack him once and then stun him while hes reloading for 4 more hits
howerver landing the stun at the right time is a bit tricky in itself.
Also nuts teleporting as a Client is super annoying, what I do to not get teleportkicked is to stand still after it shots, wait for it to TP to me, then whack it
@@sdfggdfg5fgdfg well its not teleporting, more so position fixing, as the game is telling the nutcracker to tip-toe, but only the host can see/be effected by it, everyone else has it lunge towards them because the position of it is fixing for your client

The bestiary says nuts will spot you whether you move or not once you aggrod him becase he remembers, i wonder if thats the case
technically true. while they are aggroed, they will spot you even if you're standing still and you were the one to set them off. but once they shut your eye, they 'forget' you.
These dudes have soloed entire teams for me. I am so rusty at killing them thanks for the refresher!
@Bread I confirmed after noticing a bug report on the Zeekers Discord that if you don't have camera input (don't shake your camera by mousemovement). the nutcracker doesn't see you even while it is looking in your direction in the scanning mode. Given how much people aim their camera I am not surprised it wasn't noticed so far.
Thanks for the vid man. Today i killed my first nutcraker with the shovel, then kill other 3 with the shotgun and 1 braken. I have always been super anxious when playing games with horror, but today i conquered my fears :')
This may be a mod problem, but I've moved in front of a nutcracker, but I didn't turn my camera and it didn't give two craps about me as long I didn't turn my camera around. I've tested this a lot and it seems to work. Test if you don't believe.
i didnt believe you so i tested it and its actually true if you dont put any mouse input at all you can move around in front of them as much as you want

you can also do a 1 - 4 on the nutcracker before it kills you. i do this myself all the time to avoid the nutcracker walking towards me while aiming and it works really well
itll be sad if the "cheese" method is removed :( it feels lore accurate cuz i imagine the nutcracker to have a very limited vertical aim range, like it isn't physically capable of hitting a crouching target, or thinks it's firing at something that is still standing. i feel like that fits the very crude nature of how nuts operate. pls dont patch it zeekers 😭
It's lame. Doesn't matter how accurate it seems. It makes gameplay boring by making a dangerous enemy trivial
@@dougmcboat7276 it hardly makes it trivial as the only spot where you dont get hit by the spread is right up against the nut just out of kick range. ive died many many times doing this method even though i feel that im have decent at it

My preferred method is 1-4 since there is an incredibly long time during his reload before he fires another shot. The timing of the hits is also lenient, making this method viable.
Good tip about the client side stuff. It explains why he teleports kick me. Also will be trying the 2-3 method too :)
I thought the Nutcracker drops only 1 shell if you kill it after it fires a shot or something like that.
i dont really what you mean, but, if you kill it right after it realods, it drops 2 shells and a fully loaded gun, meaning 4 shots. it always drops 2 shells no matter what. its the amount of ammo already int he gun that varies.
The main thing I hate about these guys is that if you are trying to sneak past them, they have a pretty common tendency to walk right up to you and start playing dance dance revolution, leading to a lot of BS kick deaths.
And if they stop to scan right next to you, they can stop at any time and instantly walk backwards into you.
Definitely isnt fun how easily these guys can kill you just by choosing to sprint right into you at a random time

There's also the 1-4 way, which i actually find the most consistent way to do, but ill emphasize more about the 2-3 way, instead of just hitting as fast as possible, during the reload after 2 hits in, land just 1 hit, then wait for him to wind his shot, then land the last 2 hits. You got a better time window to land 2 hits in a normal winded shot, than landing 1 hit on a last hp shot.
And on the occassion that u think u wont make the last hit before the shot, u can always crouch to give more time incase he'll shoots first or if the usual bug happens where the nut still shoots after dying and the alarm sound never dissapears.
1-4 is simply, hit for alert, on reload, hit twice, listen when he winds shot then hit the last 2, crouch if you think he'll shoot before your last hit, will give you more time, tho this method requires you hitting the nut the instant he starts reloading, like ur in his face already in order to land 2 hits before he winds a shot.
Crouching might get patched out so be careful
@@ry6554 given you got the timing right, you won't need to crouch, it's just a safety just incase you're late by a few split seconds. But yeah will really need to be more careful once crouch is gone, as for there won't be the safety.
Didn't even realise how nuanced this guys AI is, me and my freinds would usually have good luck circling around him like sharks wacking him with stops signs. Now we can probably come up with a better more strategic approach lol.

Is it just me or has the shotgun sometimes just not do any damage when point blank? A day ago I went ahead and killed a nutcracker on rend and when I found another one I tried to shoot it point blank and it did no damage. Used 3 shots all not doing a single point of damage. Tried it on other monsters too they didn't get hurt at all by a point blank shotgun fire
That's happened to me too.
It might be because there's a Jester somewhere in the building. From what I've heard/observed the Jester hitbox is gigantic and can block shotgun shots. I've had this happen when Jest wasn't even near me. Idk what it is in detail but basically, if you know there's a Jester, shotgun may be ineffective.

They won’t shoot you as long as you don’t look around apparently. You can walk and run but if you crouch, move your camera or emote, huh-uh, that’s illegal
I dont consider the cheese method to be cheese at all considering how easy it is to get kicked, especially in small rooms/halls

Is the shotgun glitched where it just doesn't do damage aometimes or is it a skill issue?
Jester aura, or you hit an object next to you. Shotguns can be really annoying about that sometimes. It’s just unlucky.
Ive heard so much conflicting info on the crouch cheese reguarding when to crouch.
Ive seen plenty of people only stand up during the reload and not every shot and be fine. Ive seen people when crouching sorta move and rotate around the nut cracker while killing it vs crouching and standing still and ive heard people say not to do these things.
Half the time i try i wind up standing into the 4th shot like a idiot because i got like 8 possibilities of shit to confirm because of it and i cant focus on that detail too lol.
With v50 released,does the crouch cheese method still work?

Last night I had a weird glitch in a play session with my friends where I was client. I was doing the crouch-cheese kill like I've done dozens of times before, but the shotgun blast would appear on my screen in a completely different location to where the shotgun was, and I'd die even though I was in the nut's safe zone. I can confirm this happened multiple times, to multiple players, and that there weren't any other nutcrackers present. Maybe this had something to do with our mods, but nothing in our modlist should've affected the nutcracker. We also restarted the lobby to see if it was caused by a desync, and it happened again on the very next round. Anyone experienced this before?

You can kill a nutcracker with a shotgun without waiting for he is showing is eye. Is it a bug or some pellets trigger him in attack mod?
7:55 but if you dont move and nutcracker still comes to you even though you didnt move and set it off it can knock you down with the foot can it?

No, cause you can get 4 shells from a nutcracker, by killing it while the shotgun is full and getting the additional 2 bullets

@@call_me_breadI have video footage,, not directly tested but when i played; hitting the eye, looking slightly higher than the eye to around the hat,, cause zeekers hitbox is a little wacky, will make it so the nut cracker will take two hits.

Big thing my brother found out. You can walk around in front of the nutcracker as long as you don't move your camera and he won't see you. Test it out for yourself
After testing I found that the Nutcrackers shell can’t protect against shovels or shotguns it does protect against land mines though so you can shoot it when it’s walking
