At Wollongong we use that style of wheels a lot. Typically, we will supa glue the tire to the wheel hub and that seems to almost entirely mitigate the issue. We've found the cheapest black and red glue from Bunnings works best.
Thats a great trick, one I have sworn by many many times over the last 4+ years, including that exact cheap red and black super glue as its always stuck the best of anything I could find.
But this event is the first time I've had this technique fail, let alone fail multiple matches in a row, which is why I said I think something has changed with the glue and why I'm looking for alternatives now
(I guess my glue could have been old too, but still aiming for less reliance on these exact wheels)

Someone's clearly never had their robot gyrodance before, congradulations on a right of passage for spinners. Makes me wonder how well saw bots work in the ant class. We know they don't really work in heavies because of the abundence of metal armor (unless combined with a grabbing weapon to hold the other guy still while the saw does it's thing), but against plastics... I dunno, maybe it has a chance.
"It's not that I've lost it, my battery cable's in the path of the weapon, so if I turn it on I turn myself off again" don't know why this made me laugh so much, but it did XD
Shame about the Hornet fight, looked like it was going your way at first. I might be completely talking out of my bum here, but from the footage, it honestly looks like your weapon is running on the slow side, maybe that's why you weren't getting the huge hits you were before?
The rumble is chaos, as expected. Loved the self OOTA, the quick "thank you" after helping that one robot get unstuck, and "I think I stuffed the landing" XD
Maybe changing the print angle is an idea? so the layer lines are going vertical rather then horizontal.
As for a 5 year old design still being good. Some designs just stand the test of time, there's a reason so many horizontals take after Tombstone, because it just works. TIAP is on the cusp of being one of them I feel.
If the plastic overstretched when the blade hit the ground to the point of breaking - i think it might be possible that the reason you weren't getting the force out of your weapon throughout the day could be your weapon mount was flexing instead of putting all of you weapon energy into your opponent likely leading to the final break at the end of the day,
Thats a good thought, a carbon fibre arm would have been much stiffer, absorbing less energy from hits.
I've got a plan for the next design which might bring that stiffness back

Should Havoc 7 happen, is there a chance that TIAP will be there? I can picture it in an all vert rumble with the likes of Ripper, Business Time, Midnight Sun, Split, and of course, Angry Angie! 😁

Havoc 7 is very likely to happen, and maybe, it depends on what other builds I do (both in ants and other classes) between now and then. Even if TIAP is not signed up, I might bring one for a vert off
I could see weight savings from a few holes in the roll bar for the weapon. If you're running out of the drone arms, why not get some 3d printed in carbon fiber?
the bite difference might be due to lower stiffness of the weapon mount vs carbon plate
