Hello Rowan, Hope you're doing great! I was just asking, I'm currently in year 11 and I just finished all my HSC exams, and I think I should have done much better in my studying, is there a possibility to improve myself in year 12 so I can obtain a decent ATAR? because I'm worried that its too late.
I put my phone at flight mode if I find something in it distracting. It reduces my anxiety to check things in it and helps to stay focused for a longer time.
Good to hear Soumya! FYI - Research shows that just having your phone on your desk reduces your focus as even if it's on airplane mode, we're conditioned to still want to check it.
I tried the 25min and then a 10minute break, it actually worked well. The only issue is taking a 10minute break every 25min kinda wastes the hour altogether.
@@ArtofSmartTV I know, It's pretty weird. Like when the teacher is there, I'm focused af. But if he isn't there, I'm basically not doing anything, and I feel so unproductive and I hate it. Anyway, stay safe.
@@somniato7759 Can you try doing a 'study with me' session with a friend for accountability? So you both dial in on a Google Hangout and study, and if one of you gets distracted you, you keep the other accountable?
Great video! Super practical and also relevant when running my business too. Not only studying. Love it.
Thanks Ryan!

I get distracted by getting tired lol
Can I still have a 10 min break every 2 hours? I work in 2 hour study blocks and have a 10 min break every hour.
That's fine! As long as you stay focused in your study time :)

yep, so the goal should be to expand the 25 min study period to make it longer and longer over time :)
honestly, I couldn't even focus on you the entire video
Haha, sounds like focus is definitely a big problem for you!

my friend called me to play minecraft while watching this and i postponed this for an hour
Haha, OH no....Have you implemented any of the strategies we shared in this video now?
@@ArtofSmartTV Most of it, excluding music though. In some sense, music is the lesser distraction , so I'd rather be on music than be on my phone
How long should a distraction last per 20 minutes of study?
As in during the 20 mins of study, or after you've done your 20 minutes?

I feel personally attacked by this video.
Haha, sorry to hear Lauren!
