  • Another interesting house here for you all. I wonder what happened here for these people to leave behind their computer.

    They left the computer behind because it had Vista installed on it.

    I live in Michigan, near the "famous" Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Just in my county alone, there are hundreds of old, abandoned houses. I love you guys:) It would be awesome if you could come explore in my area!!

    Always feel bad seeing some of the newer houses abandoned like that. Just when the mold starts creeping down the wall and the place isn't totally destroyed (well... kinda is) and you just think, if somebody were to buy this property, which parts could they save (if any)? Probably none, but I find myself thinking about it. I know in some cases, it is usually a death and the family kind of just leaves the home there to fall apart. Or in the case with somebody with a mortgage, why the bank wouldn't go send somebody out to inspect and repair the property and then try to flip it and get it back out there in the market. Instead, just lets it fall into ruin. :(
    Really enjoy your videos! Keep up the awesome work!

    Great video. We had a friend of our give my wife and I two computers like that. They both had dual core CPUs. I used it to set up a nice internet computer for my wife and I think the dual core Intel in them is better than my triple core AMD (due to hyperthreading) so I may just swap mine out for it. But, they are being given away these days or sold very cheap.
    Also, don't even stop the "reet reet" thing or other cutsie noises. My wife and I are in our 50s, married 32 years and still act silly, keeps you laughing and close. :)

    Very interesting house, amazed that the computer tower is still there. But it does have the old HP logo on it so I think they updated it around 2009-2010, can't remember exactly. I still have so many videos of yours to catch up on, just haven't been on the computer much at all lately. And Bekah, calling the bathroom 'dumpy', that wasn't very punny. LOL I also like the random garden hose roller in the girl's room...with a can of beer?
    And I still can't understand why people would want to smoke indoors. Not only is it just a gross habit to begin with, but it causes so much dirt and allergens and extra work than if you were to just go outside instead.

    • @ExploringwithRickBekah
      @ExploringwithRickBekah  7 років тому

      +Viper Jay 5 we call a lot of things dumpy and Dont even think about it, that bathroom was certainly very dumpy. We also don't understand why anybody would want to smoke indoors, or smoke at all, it smells so bad. Makes me sick.

    • @skeeter21able
      @skeeter21able 7 років тому

      +Viper Jay 5 Reason a lot of people smoke indoors is because they can and it is a major convenience factor. Also look at this way if you're watching a movie or television show say on netflix and you get enthralled in the story and action/suspense then you wouldn't want to go outdoors to smoke cause once you do that then it gets you out of the mood to start watching again. Just one reason why people smoke indoors that way they stay enthralled in said movie or television show. Plus they are comfortable and really hate to to be forced to get out of that comfort zone. Another factor is weather. People do not enjoy going outdoors to smoke when it is bone snapping cold outside. They would rather stay inside where it is warm and cozy. They also do not want to go outside to smoke when it is pouring down rain. They do not want to catch the flu/cold. Especially when they have a very important job they have to do for example electrician or plant worker at a power plant. The smokers do not want to go outside when it is body melting hot outside either. They would rather stay in where it is nice and cool. Hope this has answered your question. Have a magical and fortunate month of May.

    makes one kind of wonder what the story is behind all that recent abandon stuff like the file of recites. bagged Christmas decorations kids toys piles of clothes. to just up and leave all that behind. and wonder if some disgruntled family remember trashed it like that. Who knows . maybe a family died in a car wreck or who ever had been incarcerated? to bad you couldn't find out more about these places and why they are left in such a state.. That would be interesting.. Would there be anyway to find out . Like pubic records etc. what ever there seems to be something sad that may have happened.. I enjoy your channel and looking for your next adventure,,,Stay safe and always take caution..

    Most likely the computer had a virus or had stopped working all together. I have 2 houses that I rent out and both of them are total loss because the renters busted the walls out, took all the electrical wiring, spray painted everything, and they had a bunch of dogs and the smell is so bad, they broke all the windows out, kicked the doors in.

The bathroom doesn't seem like I wouldn't use it without cleaning it...but i dunno. Clearly this house isn't gonna have old stuff. • @skeeter21able

    I think the reason that stuff gets left behind is that the occupants was forced to move. Either by eviction or both parents had an opportunity they could not pass up. Say the husband/father got promoted and is in charge of a satellite business or is in charge of starting a new franchise for the company he works for. The wife/mother could have the same done for her. Or they just got fed up with living in that particular location and wanted a change of scenery. Another option is some family needs them to be close by for medical reasons. It is sad and disheartening that families have to leave precious memories behind the way they are forced to do. However it is what it is. All we can do is hope they got some precious memories at the new location and will return to collect the stuff they did leave behind. I tend to look at the glass as half full and they got a huge chance for great advancement in a new career by the Chief Operating Officer. As well as Chief Executive Officer. I try to find the positive in the situation at hand though. Have a magical and fortunate month of May. I say that to everybody out there.

      Thanks Michael. They probably didn't like the traffic. This place was crazy close to the road

    • @skeeter21able
      @skeeter21able 7 років тому

      Exploring with Rick & Bekah, That could be a strong possibility; Though highly doubt it. There are a lot of people that can tune out outside noise. However, these residents could have gotten sick and tired of all the noise. Not to get vulgar or anything some people will go mad and start to kill other people due to excessive noise and such. I just love to think they had a chance of better careers and could offer their children a better future. Yes I too hate traffic noise. I live in an apartment building that is close to two roads and both are busy up until about 11:45 PM. Starting time for the noise is at 6:37 AM. combine that with loud vehicle stereos and you could go bonkers. I live in Sullivan Indiana by the way. For a small farming town it sure is way too busy for it's own good. If what you say is true then I could easily see finding a quieter place to live to regain sanity and to be a lot more calm. However I want to remain positive and think they moved because of greener fields and greater opportunities for the family in question. Wishing you all the best with hopes of getting more subscribers may 2017 through 2018 see great changes for you all.

    R&B, I like the graphics (R&B) did I start that? At 2:12 the silver ring and the gray slotted disc was a stove top grill. It goes over a gas burner. You fill the ring with water to control the grease as it flows off. Very 1990's. I hate to see you thinking about computers when you're off duty, it's like you can't get away. BUT (again) - maybe if you quit the job and just do videos.

      +Gene Conlon you did start that, you gave us the idea, thanks! It does not bother me to think about computers when I am off duty, I actually like computers, and spend some time working on them at home or building them for fun, I even have gotten Bekah somewhat interested in them. We would love to have me quit my job so we could just do this all the time, we did open a patreon account. It will be interesting to see how many people would support us.
