NC-300 Demo after (5) NC-303 circuit changes copied into the NC-303 schematic diagram

More gain on bands. About 5 changes were copied in from the NC-300 schematic and installed.
Mostly lowering of resistance values on cathodes of tubes.

I have a 300. When I was a Novice back in the 60's I could never imagine having a receiver as good as the 303 or 300. Not as good as today's receivers but back then it was really something to have one.

I turned it up for the 3rd tim. The first 2215 IF was off. WOW it really receives now.

The 6BE6 can be problematic if gassy/leaky. I had a Hammarlund HQ-180A that had a bad one, and the one I substituted checked good but produced distortion on some high level signals. Only the next replacement fixed the problem.

Going to try a 6BY6 tube as a replacement. New old stock from eBay. Great receiver in many ways. Love the HD construction

It sounds good to me 🎉 plus you can always hoist it up on your shoulders and do 5 sets of ten reps....How many receivers can you say that about?

I think it weighs about 50 pounds. I sent one of these to the Los Angeles area and as a recall it weighed in at about 50 pounds
