This AI decided to not throw a bunch of ships at me early. This was unfortunate, as the impossible AI can sometimes pose more of a threat right away. This can be somewhat tricky to counter. Hopefully, this was still an okay illustration of how one could beat it. If the AI attacks you early, invest in some more turrets and early ships. Fend it off, and go for the same mid to late game plan.
WHen I play the impossible AI, I get hit with a 1000 supply attack at 27 minutes. I think this random map was just the right layout for the AI to break its logic in putting stuff places
@@unoriginalthoughts796 So I played on impossible last night with the AI on aggressive behaved similar to your video and was able to bait it into starbases pretty easily and win. I think the "aggressive" setting isn't quite what it is made out to be. The AI splits its fleets more on that setting in my anecdotal experience.
Yeah if the AI attacks you early with all his ships it is quite tricky to hold. In that case you need turrets and about two factories to replenish your destroyed ships. Edit: you could also try to beat it using starbases. That's how I learned it initially.

Really nice to see people better than me at games play it. Good stuff man!
I appreciate the lengthy explanations so I would say pause to your hearts content
I would share this playthrough on the sins 2 discord to let the developers see how the ai behaves.
OMFG there is an auto level up button? Arg how did I miss that
Yes! Very handy in late game fights with many ships!
Where is it?
It sits at the top of the capital ship menu! Looks like a blue square. Turns yellow once you press it. @@nurgle333

Yeah something was definitely slightly off about its behavior. Usually the AI has a lot more ships early.

I always get wiped out by the AI missile spam. I can't seem to build a big enough fleet before they arrive
