Korean Dankpods video with Michael MJD's "Everything Went Wrong" style? Sign me up! It's quite shocking to see a government device with the government software being left intact.
Your accent, your humbleness, your enthousiasm... All beautiful! Your life translations of what's happening on the screen, subtitles... -chef's kiss- I'm tri-langual myself (English, Dutch, German) but translating from a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT language blows my mind.
UMPCs are so underrated. Everyone says "just use a phone bro" but they're not really a tech person. I love projects like the MNT Pocket Reform and even the GPD Pocket 3. Full fledged PC experiences without big and bulky devices. 8-10 inches for PCs are just incredibly underrated. While many will say it's pointless, it's incredible how many 8-10 inch tablets already exist. The problem is that x86/x64 is really tough to put in mobile devices without heating issues. You can adjust TDP sure but you lose performance. I really hope the cooperation between Intel and AMD is truly going to shake the industry up. Intel's CEO coped hard about ARM processors saying they were just as efficient as ARM in mobile platforms. This is not true at all. Literally a month later they're collaborating with AMD to take on the threat of ARM.
That's right, it was a critical mistake for Intel to try to compete in the mobile computing market with an x86 architecture processor when ARM-based products were already innovating the industry in the late 2000s. Their Atom processors failed to show not only better performance but also better power efficiency compared to ARM processors. Not to mention that they hardly made any efforts to alleviate difficulties in software.
This is what STALKERS use when they're in the Zone. I adore these chunky things, knowing full well the tablet I'm typing this on is like 20 times better.
Even though the screen resolution is too high for a 4.8 inch Windows XP device and making text difficult to read, it's just so fascinating to see it doing things that only it could do compared to other devices from the same time period.
Awesome video. Easiest sub I've had in a while. I have a soft spot in my little black heart for older devices like this. Never owned one, just always admired them. Easy to take them for granted nowadays with the tech we currently have, but I still love stuff like this and probably always will.
One UMPC i wanted back then was the Sony Vaio P Series which had a 1 or 2GB Ram and a 80-16GB SSD or HDD depending how you set it up when ordering the device at Sony's web online store, at the time the 8 inch screen and tiny keyboard was perfect on my hands since it was small but the $800 dollar price tag of that device meant that the rich is the only one that can afford it rofl, until now i still haven't got to buy one in complete/working condition since it's a rare piece of history now and is very hard to find with a reasonable price
Love these handheld pc's. In 2015, I purchased a windows 8.1 tablet for around 50$. It had 1gb ram and 16gb of storage. I played Freedom Fighter and other older games alot. Its 7 inch screen was great for reading ebooks.
The Asian market got some pretty cool weird little devices. I always wanted something super small portable I could take with me probably would've never been able to afford it. Which is why I snapped up the GPD P3 when I had the chance.
I just got a Legion GO for 500 dollars and suddenly my 1200 dollar RTX 4060 Ti PC has had it's use drastically diminished to virtual machines, demanding games, and video editing. You get a great gaming experience and essentially an on the go chonky Windows tablet for practically peanuts with a gorgeous screen. Criminally underrated device. The ability to adjust TDP is incredible for those long play sessions. I haven't owned a UMPC since the GPD Win 1 where it would actually get super hot playing SNES games. Just incredible how well this device runs.
Oh GOM, I used it in college, you know why it was the best player for back in the day..broke student, 'borrowed' internet, broken file. Only in recent years I understand the relation between the logo and its name.
Whoa, DMB, it's wild that mobile TV there exist since 2005 and still kicking, i know across the sea the Japanese also have ISDB-based mobile broadcasting but never heard it again past 2010s
It's really interesting to see that the signals for DMB are still there. Samsung smartphones had a tuner until 2019 with the Galaxy Note10, so it's very rare to come across a brand new device with DMB functionality.
Here in Brazil there were some cell phones that came with an antenna and support for broadcasting TV. Unfortunately they stopped making it a few years ago.
@@tag27most of the ones that had it only had because of tax incentives. There were a few dongles for some phones, but I don't think you can still buy them today. But since 1seg is pretty much a part of the regular broadcast tv, it's still working and will keep working until/if we transition to ATSC 3.0/"TV 3.0"
Here in Chile we use ISDB‑T, which includes 1seg transmissions, but no mainstream devices have a decoder. 1seg also looks like crap, like 10 fps with horrid resolution, practically unwatchable.
As a kid these where my dream device, especially the sony ones, now as an adult I tried a Lenovo légion go and decided it wasn't for me 😂 still watching content for them thanks to you!
Just as those Viliv handheld PCs were better suited for very specific uses back then, modern Windows handheld devices like the Legion Go are better suited for niche markets haha. But hey, we're here to appreciate such tiny devices that work like a normal desktop!
very high quality tech video with cool tech ive never heard of as an american, that form factor in 2009 with that many ports is ridiculous lol !! will be binging ur videos now lol

6:22 i have a laptop (ECS E09EI6) with this exact SSD type (8 GB) inside! thanks for showing that you can just put the ipod one, can't find the 32 GB original anywhere!
iFlash drives may not be compatible with your laptop! It may just be that my Viliv S5 has its compatible SSDs whitelisted, but it may just be that iFlash is designed to work with iPod only and is not compatible with most devices that use IDE hard drives.
Huh, that's really odd. Anyway, since it could be configured with a 30/40/60GB hard drive, iPod classic hard drives might work on that machine. If you have one, I'd say give it a try.
It's funny seeing a legion go getting used for more than gaming. 😂 I am not the only one using my umpc for pc work lol. My win4 has mostly replaced my PC
I've got out by old S5 after seeing this video. Seems to be taking a charge. Probably just to remember how bad the experience was - the one I got in the USA has no antenna, and i remember the on screen keyboard being extremely buggy Edit: its booting ubuntu 15.04 to console

15 years ago it's a miracle to even run browser in a PC that small. Now you can even play AAA games on Full HD on the handheld PC
I'm still amazed at how well Ryzen Z1 runs today, haha. Running GTA5 effortlessly on a handheld PC was definitely something unimaginable 10 years ago!

While there wasn't much to do while it was disconnected from the intranet, it was very nice to see it being used as a fire department tool!
