When they’re grooved into the photograph, it’s mostly likely a stamp. Often the entire signature can be felt on the back of the photo. Collecting is a lot of fun but you’ve got some secretarials there you’re not aware of. I’d rather they sent out obvious fakes or just a photo instead of having a secretary sign something, or autopen, etc.

Recently,I brought an authentic 8x10 autograph of Lena Olin on eBay,& I have six pre printed autograph pics via studio fan mail. Just today,I ordered an autographed pic of Marcia Gay Harden on eBay. I'm getting the hang of collecting autographs!!!
If you were around in the 50s,60s,70s you could literally get an awesome collection of signatures. Those were the golden days. So many in person and through the mail. There was minimal information on the hobby. For sports collectors The Trader speaks was the go to publication. Players like Mantle, Mays, Maris, Ted Williams routinely signed and Hall of Famers from the 20s, 30s, 40s, would answer letters. It was not uncommon to get 4 signatures at once from a player. Charles Hamilton was the foremost authenticator and wrote several books. It was a great time for sports cards, non sports cards, Beatle cards etc. I'm glad to see that the hobby is alive and well 😊
Got to say I found this video super entertaining and I just know that the 20 year old me would totally have been friends with the 20 year old Heath! Meet a few celebrity's over the years, including literally walking into Mike Tyson whilst on holiday in New York, and yeah they are just people at the end of the day and never had a bad experience! Keep up the good work brother! :)

I actually started doing this last year and I've had some great successes and a few that have never come back. A couple pre-prints (the ones that are cost printed on the photo), no secretarials or stamps that I'm aware of. You still have to send the Self Addressed Stamped Return envelope, letter of request, piece of cardboard and it's now recommended to send a photo you want signed as some have written back saying they don't have photos of their own. I also get autographs at conventions, but was surprised to find that in this digital age you can still get a lot of autographs by snail mail. A site called StarTiger charges $5 a month to be a member and has celebrity addresses and you can see who seems to respond so you don't waste your time and money. The only thing is with stamp prices going up earlier this year it costs $3.33 per request, which adds up quickly but is still much cheaper than convention prices. Great video by the way, some of my letters are pretty terrible as well.
Oh man that was good. Part of me wonders if you kept back that Tom Cruise letter, it was before “crazy couch jumping Tom.” But right around Rosie O’Donnell being “having a crush” on Tom phase. Good video keep it up.

This may sound weird but I've always tried to get the one off autograph and not the star of the movie. Believe it or not they are harder to obtain, but more likely to be genuine.

I have the exact same Samuel L. Jackson signed photo and I do believe it was signed using an autopen? I could be wrong but still nice to have in the collection! You've got some great signatures that are probably very hard to obtain nowdays! ☘️📝💌👍☘️

I'd probably sell them, but I don't know if it would be worth it, especially since so many of them are personalized.
