    This reminds me of a conference talk by Elder Stanley G. Ellis entitled, "Do We Trust Him? Hard Is Good," (Oct.2017). He disucsses this same topic of how hard things strengthen us. It's very good.

    The emphasis on obedience during trials is such a profound truth. It seems like the times I’ve felt the Lord’s power and love the most have been when I have been sacrificing to keep my covenants with Him. Many thanks! 💙

    Oh wow! I’ll never be quite the same. I paused this when she is talking about our misunderstanding of ensuring to the end. I’m out for a walk on my small local college and when she said that, I said without thinking pretty loudly “Press forward with a steadfastness in Christ!” Thank you all, especially Dr Anderson for this message today. As doon as I get home I’m going to print out the transcript

    When The Lord is with you your not alone. When you do things that separate you from The Lord support, you are weak. When you have The Lord with you, you are strong. Thank you for this wonderful lesson.

    I had to take a break from social media because of so many outside voices posing as truth, but I'm reality sharing things that are not true (even some that go along with the Come Follow Me chapters). It is refreshing and uplifting to feel the Spirit with these podcasts, and the contrast in how I feel from them is very real. I'm glad Sister de Hoyos Anderson also has a podcast!! Because yes, having more voices is what we need!

    Sister Andersons comment about being able to connect so easily with other believers is so true. Our family met John Bytheway through his Heroes of the Book of Mormon DVD, Hank through Teen Academy (Grace and Emma from New Zealand!) and now my wife and I love this podcast. Thanks for using the technology God has provided to help us come closer to Him though we are far away from you. 🙂

    Oh my how true!! Loved what Dr Lili said about how families can be likened to weaknesses 😅.I come from a dysFUNctional one too& sometimes it takes longer to find that sweet spot& flea but that's growth hey.
    Trials do make us stronger& "ALL" things work out for our good for sure, even though sometimes I wonder if the "ALL" or the "GOOD" part is going to happen in this life 😣😅❤

    I remember as a young woman my Bishop’s wife found out that I had gone into a club and she warned me then that the Holy Ghost would leave me outside that door. She taught me I needed to Stand in Holy Places, I never went back.

    Joseph's coat of many Colors represents God's light of many colors. It depicts God's glory. Just like Jesus shines forth God's glory. fully God and fully man. Joeseph through it all maintained patience and steady reliance on the Lord. He would not have been successful with the grace of God, the lesson is we cannot do it ourselves, we must have the Holy Spirit guiding and directing us.

    • @LatterDaily
      @LatterDaily  2 роки тому

      Absolutely: We really cannot do it ourselves. We really just have the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us.

    To take the idea of Abraham's trauma just a little bit further - how many people who grow up with father issues can say that they got to such a feeling of trust in Heavenly Father as Abraham did? Usually our father hang ups translate directly to our Heavenly Father hang ups...

    I appreciate Dr. Anderson's insight. However, I am concerned that there might be a slippery slope we're teetering on the top of by saying that because Joseph was always so good, in spite of which he was treated so unfairly so often, therefore that's why he was so richly blessed and successful because God was with him. I know people who have and I personally have experienced ultra poor treatment, illnesses, ugly unfairness. I have worked hard - no I'm NOT perfect - but so hard have I tried to have integrity; done as Pres. Hinckley asked to try a little harder to be a little better each day, served and served and continue serving. And in many things - 40+ years later, there's NO success, no huge financial gains. There's still heartbreak, Family ugliness and struggle. I think others may also feel the same. I know God cares for me but my life has been So, So, So hard. When do these friends and I get a break? Where can we turn to garner those blessed times? Those are just my thoughts. Thank you!!

      Thank you so much for reaching out. We're so sorry you've experienced so much struggle in your life. What a hard thing to endure.
      Joseph's example of prosperity is just one example of the ways the Lord blesses the faithful. We recognize that not everyone is blessed financially or by the world's definition of "success". We do believe, however, that the Lord blesses the faithful and helps them to "prosper" in many, many different ways that are very sacred and individual. The development of faith, endurance, hope, motivation, love, and patience are all examples of "prosperity". Many people find themselves "prospering" in greater knowledge and experience while others may "prosper" in intuition or in their relationships with the Godhead. All are great examples of success and prosperity and blessings, if we are willing to see things from a more eternal perspective.
      Thank you so much for connecting with us, friend. We hope you can find peace and joy in your journey. ❤️
