I am one victim of these scoundrels. My village funeral scheme we lost over a R200k through these shenanigans. This is money where every month after social grants payout, each family unit in the village pays in R50. When a family member dies the scheme pays out R20k. We had to scramble to "recapitalise" the scheme after the heist.
Dali Mpofu's mumblings though not unexpected are tone deaf, despicable and scandalous. But he knows the victims do not engage much in those high English debates, and therefore he can get away with just about anything he says in his pseudo legalese.
Malema and Xivambu are just purely immoral. They knew clearly what they were up to, but it was nothing new, they did worse whilst still in the ANC YL fold.
But this is politics, everyone stands by their own however heinous their doings. We see it in world (Gaza & Ukraine) and national politics. The villagers get fleeced by their "representatives" everyday and are still duped into voting for them. Nothing new.

Nobody raises an eyebrow because its all fully disclosed and legitimate. The "donations are legal" argument was a straw man tactic - EFF getting a donation is not what this is about.

Even if the Juju & Shivambu don't end up getting into trouble about this or go to prison, the EFF will suffer with a loss of votes in 2029. Their votes decreased by over a percent (?) This last election. So I'm guessing this VBS scandal, whether they are innocent or guilty will affect their support base because there will probably be doubters.😊

Anyway, mr Malema and Shivambo didnt have all the VBS stats of income and losses when having to take the decision to accept the donations. You need court orders to investigate such positions of a bank if you want to make SUCH an informed decision, ok, so i cannot accept your offer as i see the bank cannot afford it...

The major problem is Malema sitting on the Judicial Services Committee. The JSC appoints all the magistrates and high court judges. Malema abuses he's position there to put pressure on judges and magistrates that he gives them their jobs, even though it's not really so, it's worked so far to keep him out of jail. That's also why he's so arrogant in arguing with prosecutors.
