Just be yourself = Make bold choices. Yes! It's only when I've taken ownership of a role and made it my own, without trying hard to be different, that I receive feedback that they loved my "bold choices". Great info and advice all around! Thanks.
Great topic! And definitely worthwhile of a video. In short, minimize ALL physicality in a self-tape or live audition. If the action is important to the scene (a kiss, hug, punch, etc) then you can do either a little physicality or instead just focus on the emotional response that comes with it. Other actions like doing shots are in the “take it or leave it” category. Some actors will have a glass of water to make that feel real, some will mime, others will ignore. Partly it depends on how Casting feels about “props”, but really it comes down to your preference. Just remember no prop will ever book you the role. In other words, don’t do an action or use a prop because you think you’ll win points with Casting.

Do you have any tips for auditions with physicality like being punched? Or tips for auditions were you are drinking a beer or tequila shots?
