Good to see that Benny is still remembered in his native country. We loved him here in the USA as well! Rest in peace, Benny. You may be gone but the laughs you gave us will never be forgotten! :)
When I was a kid My dad would get back from his job All stressed out , He and I would watch Benny Hill And we'd laugh so hard it'd change his Mood those were the days (1980's) Thanks Benny ! RIP dead but never forgotten
Greetings from the USA. Americans love Benny Hill. My 1st exposure to the UK was thru the Benny Hill Show. As a kid, I thought very highly of the UK - all thanks to Benny. In a sense - Benny acted as an Ambassador for the UK. What a great guy !!!! Thanks for making this video !!!
@@dr.demento6014 Very true...well, at least the women that don't drink pints, scoff takeways, and wear XL clothing because they're the size of a beached whale.
one of englands greatest comedians .. sadly driven off our tv screens by the humourless pc brigade and unfunny comics like ben elton who could not hold a candle to the brilliance of benny hill.
I watched his tv show in California he was one of the best comedians - I would go to work the following day and everyone would say they watched his show but couldn't understand a word he was say - but his face expressions was enough to make them laugh being a Brit I had no problem
In my opinion Benny Hill would be in the "Top 10 Greatest Comedians of All-Time". I love Benny so much that my ringtone on my phone is "Yakety Sax". Benny hill fan since the early 80's.
I’m from Italy and in my country Benny always had much success. Even now, many years after his departure (and of many of his colleagues) people watch his shows laughing and clapping by the rhythm of YAKETY SAX
We live in the vile dark age of political correctness, I suggest a posthumous knighthood for Benny Hill. I don't know what Ben Elton said about him, but Ben Elton is constitutionally incapable of making anyone truly laugh. Long may we titter at BH, in the secrecy of our front rooms. He brought harmless pleasure to millions for decades, his comedic legacy will continue to last. Many thanks for posting.
DarthProducer Well, he didn’t have a good end but then who does?. The main thing is he made millions of people including me laugh and he had a good life! He made a good living and could have continued here in the US if he wished because of his popularity. But sadly time ran out on him! Like it does to everyone really. I will remember the show and the good times he gave us all. Not the sad ending. RIP Benny Hill you were one of a kind! Even Charlie Chaplin who lived in England, was a fan and praised him. Now that is high praise coming from a comedy legend.
The "Gent" who gave us joy & laughter to many Irish people tuning in every week to a superb show. Growing up in late 70tees, and what were fabulous memories watching his show on ITV.... No - Onė cud ever replace his witty ness & humour. 👌 Most professional comedians male & female, like there own company but that's the way ''Benny" choose to live his life ...you gotta respect everyone's wish in life. We're all giving different personalities by God on this earth but (Benny Hill) was unique and extremely special and one of a kind. 🥳🤠🇨🇮 2020 keep smiling everyone & laugh more.
He was great, such a talent..deserve's more respect in his native country. As much as I and other males liked the t&a it was his humor that drew us in,good natured fun always
He was driven off of TV by changing attitudes, they literally scrapped his show overnight saying it was ‘sexist’! Funny how all the lovely ladies who appeared with him said what a lovely kind man he was and how they loved working with him. This broke Benny’s heart and he locked himself away in his flat where he was found dead several days later by a neighbour 😪 my dad was born in Teddington where he made his shows and I met him once on a large boat he owned on the Thames. He had many of ‘Hills Angels’ there with him having a party, he was a true gentleman. RIP Dear Benny
Actually he was found dead by Dennis Kirkland after not being able to get a hold of him. Dennis climbed up the back of his flat with a ladder and saw him through the window sitting in his chair.
For years now very single time I'm reminded of Ben Elton, I want to vomit! I didn't know until yesterday that that vermine had attacked Benny Hill. Brits may be stupid enough to like Ben Elton, but the rest of the planet has no idea who he is and worships Benny. Brits should be ashamed of themselves

Thank you so much for this video, We would never have found it without this as the map is pointless & no groundsman to ask anymore apparently..!! Paid our respects with roses. Thank you once again. 👍
It is difficult to think a star like Benny could be resting in an ordinary graveyard. Anyone could invade his tomb, I read someone did. He was a kind and generous person. I would have loved to have met him.
As a man of the people and very humble soul, I think it's more than fitting that Benny's grave is quite ordinary in appearance. He doesn't need a tomb fit for a king in order to be greatly appreciated, loved and respected by those of us of a certain age. In many ways the simplicity of his resting place merely places greater emphasis on how down to earth Benny appears to have been. A true star is a star no matter how grand (or otherwise) his final resting place may be...and besides, those members of the public that wish to pay their respects to him can easily do so. What a comedian and what a gentleman. RIP, Benny.
Benny put our American comedians to shame. Many hours spent watching him abuse Little Jackie Wright and chasing birds around and around. When it came to facial expressions, Benny was king.
C. Kinchman, you said a mouthful! I'm an American also and used to love watching his shows. Unfortunately a lot of his skits had nudity in them and the idiot USA censors ripped it to shreds leaving us with only about half of what the real Benny Hill experience was but even still he was hilarious!
The stone slab over his grave is 1 foot thick. This is because when he died it was rumoured that he had been buried with alot of money and expensive jewellery. After about a month some graverobbers dug him up and left his coffin open. So they reinterred him with the huge slab on top to prevent further disturbance. Don't know if there was actually any 'loot' in his coffin.
thank you for the video...i live not far from the grave...in my eyes benny hill was badly treated by itv ..i speak to lots of people that remember Benny hill walking around Southampton and was a very private person ....Rip Benny hill

Interesting pics, Im a big Benny Hill fan in Tennessee, this video could be much more interesting if someone could tell us about this place and all the old buildings in the pics
He rarely did any interviews. He was a private man & didn't want to sit through the nonsense. Johnny Carson wanted him on the show but politely decline.
blachubear Ah, really!? Nevertheless, that sounds quite strange to me! I think that, as an actor, he shouldn't be just a private man... I mean, to be public was somehow also part of his job, don't you think, blachubear?
