- At the time Chino Hills was ranked #2 and Montverde was ranked #1. This was around the time the Ball Brothers were really blowing up! This was a good one to be at! This game features many well known players in todays game. Future draft pick Onyeka, from USC right now, Bruno Fernando on Monteverde is on the Hawks and a good friend of mine along with Silvio De Sousa who plays at Kansas currently and Anfernee Simons and Rj Barrett who are also in the NBA. That’s because most of the top ranked schools have to recruit. Anyways, I bet you Hopkins or East Ridge (MN public schools) would put up a good fight against anyone in the 2018-19 season.
That's what people didn't understand at the time, Chino Hills is a public school and it had been a while since a public school out of Cali just obliterated any high school across the nation. Crenshaw used to beast and held a longer streak 70's - 90's.
That last year Chino Hills went undefeated - all regular games, playoffs and Finals. Amazing feat.

@Bryan 27 Not talking about for teammates though, the guy in the video say that a shot (or lob that could have gone in) that was blocked by the opposing team when it was still ascending and not even above the rim yet was goaltended, this was annoyingly wrong which is why we are discussing it.
It doesn't matter how high the shot was, it has to have had a chance at going in & be descending to the rim, or in the case of layups, they must block it after it hits the rim (and still be ascending with a chance to go in) in order for it to be goaltending.

This starting 5 was unstoppable. The style they played together and they were all close on and off the court. Their chemistry was unmatched. I'm positive there wasn't a highschool team out there who spent as much time together.

All we have to say is future NBA player and probably 2 future NBA players if the small ones gets drafted. I mean what blows my mind is that these kids came from a public school and the father is proud of that which is a great thing. Shows all the kids on that school that it is possible! Gives them hope.

If Gelo would have been 6'7 - 6'9 he would have been the best one of the 3 brothers. He's so good at using his body in the post, has great hands, great footwork and a soft touch. Missing those 3 - 4 inches is the only reason he's not in the league.
I think it’s more of his style of play and athleticism, he relies on his size which is opposite to what his brothers do. He could use size in his but it wouldn’t translate the same in the nba. He’s a hooper though

Everyone in the NBA was a top 2 player of their team in high school. There’s a reason he’s not signed to a team despite having various tryouts. I’m a big fan of Lonzo and wish the best of luck to the rest of the boys. Gelo simply isn’t built for the NBA it’s as simple as that. To think that he’s built for the nba raises many questions about yourself. Look at his full games when he played overseas, not just high school highlights with his brothers launching the rock full court.

Lamelo was a D1 highschool freshman starter with alot of playing time and highly significant influence on the court. We were dissing his shot selection and lack of defence but never even mentioned the fact that he was still dominating against top competition (skill based). The only other time I have seen this was with Mikey Williams.
Mikey wasn’t playing good teams either! I’d say the best comparison is DJ Wagner but Melo wasn’t nearly as physically gifted (at that age) as them which makes it even more impressive.
Melo is barely a teenager playing against guys that are going to top D1 schools the following year and will be playing in the NBA in 2 years. Melo is playing like it's just another game for him and his brothers. I'm sure knowing that your brothers have your back definitely helped his confidence.

The game that I came to the conclusion that Lamelo was really him although he was the youngest. He was essentially an 8th grader giving one of the best programs and prospect in the country east work with his older brothers. London got all of the attention during this time but Lamelo had some impressive stat sheets his freshman year.
