    My Girlfriend and I read a lot to each other. Right now we are moving through the Chronicles of Narnia because my mom reading them to me and my siblings was such a core part of my childhood.

    The forehead kisses from my husband never lose their charm, even after 15 years together! They're such tender and intimate gestures, along with his hand kisses, which I adore. I literally swoon 😊♥️
    My husband's hobbies revolve around card and board games. Though I don't actively participate, I find joy in assisting him with organizing and sleeving cards. I’ll ask about the games we're setting up, and he's always eager to share the details with me. On his board game nights with friends every other Friday, I enjoy baking treats for him and his friends.
    As a runner, my husband and I have enjoyed participating in some lively 5K runs together. It's a fantastic idea for sports-oriented dates, because they always races happening throughout the year! We've also volunteered together with serving food or guiding cyclists in their races. Hiking is another activity we both love and still do today!

      like kissing a small child? I guess after being married I would find it demeaning. Probably before marriage too ( creepy) it would remind me of something a mother or grandmother ,and how they would kiss a child, or like being patted head? But to each his own. My prerogative, is either kiss them on the lips don't.
      To me it's like saying Oh Gosh! Instead of Oh my God! Anyone that hears that knows what you meant to say.

      @sitka49 Exactly as you said, to each their own. Everyone has their own preferences and ways they feel loved and valued. 💕

      Step one is for me to find a woman first desiring me who agrees on all the Catholic necessities and not just be Catholic in name never worshiping and getting the Sacraments. Most of the time I end up ghosted or just put in the friend zone so I am tempted to give up at 28 despite marriage and being a husband and father being one of the deepest desires of my heart to truly find a woman for trust and love and freely give myself to

      @@dinnapadillaWell I won’t be perfect and neither will she so I have come to terms with that and not fall in love with an ideal over a real woman. My basic non negotiables are she has to be a practicing Catholic who believes in the Church and still wants to live life accepting Jesus and God commands. Sure I don’t have the big job, money, status, and success commonly used by women and society to judge men, but I go by her heart as well to see if she is a kind, caring, feminine, and loving woman willing to help me enter into my role as a husband and father one day not pampering me like a child but being a helper to what God she called me to do with marriage being one of those things

    One of my favorite things to do with my husband is to play tennis - he is an athlete by nature, i am not, but he's such a good and patient coach. I love being with him in his element, and i see his patient and intuitive qualities in this. My point: try to find something that your loved one enjoys, and try to be a part of it in a fun and supportive way. But not in an annoying way.

    Thanks for the great suggestions! These are great in the future for me when I do hopefully find someone who wants to be with me long term one day. I pray for all marriages not to fail because of how critical it is for both partners to stand strong and resist the Devil and worldliness to divorce and give up.

    When my wife and I were dating, I proposed some light wrestling. The idea being that you get to feel the weight and strength of the other person as a force to contend with (some parallels to how successful negotiation in marriage works, perhaps). Obviously this would mean that I would go easy on her as if wrestling with a child. I was thinking that if guys can form close friendships when sparring with each other, maybe it would work for a couple trying to grow closer in a chaste way.
    Spoiler alert: we tried it once and now laugh about it 🙃

    I'm sorry, how does Confession as a couple work? I had never heard of it before, I only know it as the individual (you-the priest-Christ) sacrament, protected by a vow of secrecy. Can someone please explain a little better the number 6 of this video?

      @TheologyoftheBodyInstitute  Місяць тому +1

      Hello! Thank you for your honest question @annakareninacamara6580 . When Elizabeth says "Confession as a couple" she's referring to going together as a couple to the geographical location where the Sacrament of Confession/Reconciliation is being administered. She doesn't mean that the couple literally is confessing their sins together before the priest. Feel free to reach out to Elizabeth directly on Instagram @discerningmarriage. She loves getting questions from viewers.

      Yes that is good too. Although you do have to be careful how competitive you are. It can lead to hate and anger if your partner is beating you in a game etc. or when you are beating them 0-100 it goes both ways.
      But if all yall do is ALWAYS play video games then it’s ideal to think about how to get to know someone better without a controller in y’all’s hands. Also be careful with sloth. It’s a thing and it’s real.
      Thank you.

    Being really honest and trying to be respectful. The way she expresses the ideas doesn't bring me a sense of calm or deep understanding of what is being said. I think the manners are a bit neurotic. Persons with a calm state of mind don't express their ideas like that.

    • @Jimbone1
      @Jimbone1 4 місяці тому +2

      Hello, I saw this comment and want to reply.
      So yeas cuddles and snuggles are a good thing because love language is touch. Although it leads to sexual sin, trust me it does.
      There are many ways to love your partner that DO not include sex all the time. I don’t know if you have sex while cuddles and snuggles but keep an open mind or else if that other person does not want to snuggle and cuddle you will lose feelings when they are doing nothing wrong (since they do not want to cuddle any longer I mean).
      Just keep an open mind that there are so many ways to love someone you just have to find it.
      And no you can’t find it if you don’t try lol.
      Praying for you,
      Thank you.

      @@Jimbone1 Talking isn't being "intimate". Intimacy is a different thing.
      Also, I never had a relationship

    • @Jimbone1
      @Jimbone1 4 місяці тому +4

      Intimacy means ‘ close familiarity or close friendship ‘
      Meaning it does not always have to be physically close to someone all the time.
      Now let’s talk about the love languages.
      We have multiple but some that I know off the top of my head are ; bearing gifts, service, physical touch etc..
      Keep an open mind that absolutely talking can be intimate. Getting to know one another brings you both closer together to better understand each others feelings and expectations. If we do not talk then we don’t know if we are meant to be together forever meaning [ marriage ].
      In this video the whole point is to give you an insight of all the things we can do to grow closer to one another without being physical all the time. There is much more out there.
      I’m not saying that you have not watched the video but please with all do respect watch the video again but hear closely to what she mentions.
      If there’s anything else you’d like to tell me please let me know.
      Thank you :)
