Discover The Crazy Rules These Disney Princesses Have To Follow!

Many of us have dreamed of being a Disney princess at one point or another, but actually working in the parks is a lot harder than you might think! These cast members have to follow some incredibly strict rules, such as never calling themselves employees! Being a face character is even tougher and there are height restrictions that are non negotiable. Aspiring actors have to graduate from Disney college, learn autographs, and go through dialect training before they’re ready to interact with guests. Of course, they must always be polite when they’re reaching their extensive guest quotas. No sunglasses can be worn no matter how hot it gets in the sun and be prepared to be around a ton of feral cats! Not only do they have to borrow costumes, but even the most popular characters have to scoop up trash and stand for hours. It’s all done in order to keep the magic alive for visitors at the theme parks. All in all, the reality is a lot less glamorous than all of the fairytales you've been told!

The "E" word rule was also something I had to follow when I was working in a toy store that needed to keep the image of a magical world for kids.
Instead of "employee", we had to call ourselves "expert", because with that we showed that we knew everything about toys, so the kids could ask us anything, and we would answer them no problem.

I auditioned to be a parade performer once. I didn't get anywhere. So after they kicked us rejects out the back door, I decided to spend my day in the park and it was totally awesome! Working at the Disney parks just isn't for me.

I was at one of the cafes and Mickey was there everyone else was there too except for Daisy so I asked him more Daisy was and he can't talk in the costume so he pointed to his nails and was trying to say she was getting her nails done. They're really creative!

the last one is so extremely wrong lol. you're welcome to go to literally any audition they have open, there's no limit. even if they're not casting a certain character at an audition you could still get the role
I worked there and a lot of these are kinda stretched. For a princess, No. But sunglasses are allowed as long as you can see you eyes behind them. Characters have to turn in their costumes. But cast members can take their costumes at home but they are checked out and have to be checked back in if dirty or if you're checking anything else out. The cats are there but you rarely see them. Especially on stage. No the name tags do not get switched if someone has the same name. That's stupid.
I used to be a cast member and can testify that it's all true. In fact, this video barely scratches the surface.

I’ve been working on creating an OC that used to work at Disney World, and this video actually kinda helped me work on the small details of the character, such as the reason they quit working, and so on. The OC was the Alice in Wonderland that came out by the Teacups ride to great guests. The OC then quit because she found a better job and started developing a dislike to the fact that the rules were very strict, and because of the OC’s accent, they could only play Alice because it ‘fit well’. Except the OC’s main goal was to be Cinderella (the OC also has naturally golden-yellow blonde hair, so that fit well :D).
In short this video helped me design part of my OC’s backstory of working as a Cast Member Lol-

LOL I used to want to be a Disney Princess. I was in the color guard in a high school in CA and we always got to perform in one of the parades once a year. We always got to take a backstage dance class, and I was hooked. I had fantasies of moving to Anaheim and working for Disney. However, I'm only 4'11, so that would have crushed my dreams of of being a disney princess real fast.
