    Seriously, incredible step by step video and commentary walk through installation. Please keep up the 3rd gen DIY videos. Almost done with my rear axle seal and drum pad replacement due to the seal leaking. Next time my seals go out, I’m definitely going to refer to this for a rear disc brake conversion. Excellent work sir!
    And thank you to the dude that put the work in for this kit. Give that guy a round of applause.

    Nice work! After seeing this, I had to subscribe! The coverage you have here opens up a great possibility for a future build or conversion. Very detained and thought of.... I really like the in between monologue; discussing nuances in the stages of this procedure to avoid problems, and to leave certain parts to convert back if needed. Thank you! Will continue to check you videos out. 👍

    ahhh this is awesome! I absolutely hate drum brakes. I had no idea this was possible or available, so I will be doing this asap. I honestly just finished rebuilding the stupid drum brakes on my '98 10 days ago, so it's a bit of sad timing on my part, but so be it - the thought of having disks on all 4 wheels is just too good to pass up.

    The brackets look like they will fit a 2nd gen 4Runner, very familiar with both the 2nd and 3rd gens. Wondering if there will be an E-brake cable set up available for the 2nd gen 4Runner. Very interested in this, as well as many people I know.

    Hey I love the video! Why not upgrade to the tundra brakes - do you find that the mustang calipers provide enough braking power for a heavier vehicle ? I’d love to swap to disc brakes but I’m wondering if the tundra brake upgrade all the way around would be the way to go

    • @WeekendWrenchTurner
      @WeekendWrenchTurner  3 роки тому +1

      I did the TBU up front before I started making videos. The mustang calipers along with the 4th Gen rear rotors make the bracketry generally easier with the placement of the ABS sensor. Thanks for watching👍🍺

    • @lucress9319
      @lucress9319 3 роки тому

      @@WeekendWrenchTurner shoot thanks for getting back to me! Do you think the TBU would work instead or is the amount of space/setup not a good spot for the tundra calipers?

    • @WeekendWrenchTurner
      @WeekendWrenchTurner  3 роки тому

      For the front, if you ever plan to tow I think it's very much worth doing the TBU. Only real issue is whether your wheels will clear the larger calipers, which cities add additional costs obviously. Hope that helps👍

    Do you use a brake residual valve to retain fluid in the calipers

    • @WeekendWrenchTurner
      @WeekendWrenchTurner  3 роки тому

      They only added the residual valves to the 2000+ models of the 3rd Gen 4RUNNER. Works fine without it, though the 99's don't have the electronic brake system like the later models. Thanks for watching👍
