This was my favorite game of all time loved the dino mounts n the music was just beautiful

You can just skip the whole island that took all my childhood to clear
Ok, so I decided to investigate what happened at 12:47 and 12:57
What I found is if you are riding on Elasmosaurus (That's the purple looking Lapras/sea serpent pet) you can easily clip through the spikes on the roof as the hit box is just the bottom stomach area of Elasmosaurus. However for some bizarre reason you can literally move right through about every single stationary spiked urchin, or you will bump up against it and be pushing against it while it doesn't hurt you. If you move directly upwards from below into one them sometimes you'll get hit. It seems the hit detection while underwater on Elasmosaurus is extremely random and overly forgiving. It's especially forgiving when you are moving fast as you can just casually fly around the stage going through every single one of them. Seems you would definitely always want Elasmosaurus on any water stage.
So to sum it up, no he is not cheating. It's just wonky NES physics!

Beyond impressive speed runs for one of the best//challenging/ and underrated new games.
I believe even though wonder boy was the first game we all know to love,adventure island looks much better in its variety.From the island worlds you visiting,to the bossfights that are a variety of monsters instead one that only changes heads,giving it also a more super mario world vibe in the way it works.Great run dude keep it up! ;)

Y aún así a mi consideración tiene gráficos muy buenos para lo que es un juego promedio de nes.
Siempre importaron los graficos, la guerra de los bits existió. La diferencia que antes habia poco juegos y en su mayoria eran divertidos, hoy en dia hay tantos juegos y menos de la mitad son buenos.
Cómo que no importaban los gráficos, no estás viendo que buenos gráficos tiene???

Если бы я в детстве был немного умнее, то записывал бы каждый уровень на бумагу, что где находится, где можно не брать молоток перед уровнем, а в начале найти его, так с запасом зверюг и молотков можно пройти. Помню, что всего один раз добрался до последнего острова и то проиграл на первом уровне со льдом, но даже тогда я был пиздец как рад, что дошел хоть туда.

Yeah I got quite good very fast in this one, also one of my favorites from my childhood, never actually owned it.

I've read a lot of people calling him a cheater in some moments of the video, but 1) this is a verified WR and 2) several NES games have crappy collision detection.
Hell, the Super Mario Bros. WR uses several uses of terrible collision detection too, and you can just *pass through a tank* in Metal Gear (NES) with right timing because of this type of programming problem, people just need to research a little about it.

Cuando era chico tenía que jugar mas o menos en speedrun, a las 24hs tenía que devolverlo al vídeo club donde lo alquilaba.
Adventure Island or as we call it here in México "El Capulinita" XD
I don't how I it got in my suggestions but I really I enjoyed it. Reminded me of hot summer holidays back when I was in school, just enjoying games with not a thing to worry about. Such a nostalgic feeling. I wish life could be that simpler now, sipping cool home made sherbat, waking up at my whim, having freinds over to enjoy life.
I think everyone of us miss those days but we still love these old retro games. At least for me they marked a very fun period of my life.

Tremendo speedrun!! =O Felicitaciones!. Pero no entiendo en los niveles de agua ,específicamente los que tienen las espinas (esas esferas negras) si las toco medio pixel por lo general me matan. Yo veo que algunas tienes como medio cuerpo encima y no te hacen nada. Lo mismo con los bordes espinosos del nivel, a veces los píxeles de las puntas me matarían (o matan al dino) y por ahí los tocas y nada. Que es? un tema de colisiones?
Exacto es tema de colisiones, parece que cuando vas hacia abajo las espinas no te pegan incluso i hay parte del cuerpo tocandolas.
Eso es muy cierto incluso en u nivel tocó la espina y no le hizo nada.
Juan David Salazar sé de una que puedes pasar por arriba y no hace nada. Él sabe cuáles pueden evitarse y cómo.
Bueno, gracias por aclarar esa duda, yo creo que era "otra cosa".
