After I get about 14 and got some experience playing different games I returned to battletoads and managed to finish rat race level. But generally I was so exhausted after it and psychologically destroyed that I quickly gave up on next level. It was a feeling those levels will never ends and they will be even harder. Lol no doubt! I've been playing Battletoads off and on for about 12 years (Genesis version though, sorry) and the way you went through Arctic Caverns is one of the craziest things I've ever seen, that level made me turn off the game more times than I can count. Amazing WR man, congrats.
That was a thing of beauty to watch. The Ice Caverns stage was simply insane how you were able to dodge every single snowball, ice block, and spike. You had some crazy warp in the Turbo Tunnel that I'd never seen before, you knew every turn of the Speeder Bike stage, and you knew where every platform was in the revolving tower. There are some games where I feel like if I practiced them enough, I might be able to get close to the world record--Super Mario Bros. for example--but my jaw just hit the floor for this one.
how long have you been practicing/running this? looks basically flawless. maybe one second off from perfect? I can't even imagine doing this this good. will you still be running this? also, that one handed run - omg, that's just pissing in peoples faces at this point. :D you're #1, an absolute winner, bro
That is a glitch that was first featured in the Tool Assisted Speedrun but in 2014 a speedrunner JC583 successfully did that trick in real time "conosole" and since then we implemented it in the speedruns since it save the whole TurboTunnel bike section. Here it is a little explanation about the trick: "If you die on the bike before crossing the first checkpoint, it puts you back at the beginning of the level with the bike, which puts the game in a weird state. If you drive the bike off the stage and hit a specific set of inputs on the controller, it triggers the level ending flag and you immediately complete the level."
Is this glitch explained anywhere on the internet? I've been searching for a guide but I can't find it. (both what the 'specific sets of input' is and why those specific sets of inputs work). I think this might be it, but I still don't see a guide exactly what buttons to hit: tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/Battletoads.html#LevelEnd
+Joao Augusto congrats on beating this game, definitely not many people can say that. Speedrunning is like a challenge when just beating the game isn't enough. That is why I speedrun this one.

Wow man, I was blown away by your skills in this video. Great job and congratulations to you on the world record. I myself just recently re-acquired an original copy of Battletoads for the NES. I've always loved the game for the challenge, it ranks very high on my list of all time great NES games plus it's one of my personal favorites because of the whole package, but I'm yet to beat it this time around (stuck on the tower). I had beaten it about 15 years ago for the 1st time in my life, but what I just saw in this video brought a huge smile to my face. I've never seen someone make this game their bitch the way you did. The funny thing is I watched you previously speed run this with a partner just a few days ago on one of the A.G.D.Q. videos. I thought that was pretty funny & very impressive, but this was absolutely amazing.
Shellmit Zarkon
I’ve beat this game once as an adult with save states and played many times as a kid never getting far, I never knew this game had level skips that is really cool! I just recently started watching people run games and the stuff you learn about them is very extensive! Congrats on a great run!

Lol no doubt! I've been playing Battletoads off and on for about 12 years (Genesis version though, sorry) and the way you went through Arctic Caverns is one of the craziest things I've ever seen, that level made me turn off the game more times than I can count. Amazing WR man, congrats.
Nice record man!
There are some games where I feel like if I practiced them enough, I might be able to get close to the world record--Super Mario Bros. for example--but my jaw just hit the floor for this one.
finally I can see the last stage and ending of this game
Sub'd cuz you made Battletoads your BITCH. Good work!
xTroop18546x thanks man, very much appreciated your subscription.
how long have you been practicing/running this? looks basically flawless. maybe one second off from perfect? I can't even imagine doing this this good. will you still be running this? also, that one handed run - omg, that's just pissing in peoples faces at this point. :D you're #1, an absolute winner, bro
What happened at 1:08?
That is a glitch that was first featured in the Tool Assisted Speedrun but in 2014 a speedrunner JC583 successfully did that trick in real time "conosole" and since then we implemented it in the speedruns since it save the whole TurboTunnel bike section.
Here it is a little explanation about the trick:
"If you die on the bike before crossing the first checkpoint, it puts you back at the beginning of the level with the bike, which puts the game in a weird state. If you drive the bike off the stage and hit a specific set of inputs on the controller, it triggers the level ending flag and you immediately complete the level."
cool
Is this glitch explained anywhere on the internet? I've been searching for a guide but I can't find it. (both what the 'specific sets of input' is and why those specific sets of inputs work). I think this might be it, but I still don't see a guide exactly what buttons to hit: tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/Battletoads.html#LevelEnd

Congratulations!!! I have beaten this game so many times for 20+ years, but never this fast
+Joao Augusto congrats on beating this game, definitely not many people can say that. Speedrunning is like a challenge when just beating the game isn't enough. That is why I speedrun this one.
that was epic. i had so many good memories of this game. congrats!
Thank you.

That was sick! Holy crap dude!
This wasn't a speed run... It was a cheat fest! Seriously, what kind of garbage is this??

Alex Smith the hit-box on the battle toads isn’t as big as the actual toad.
Shellmit Zarkon
Damn, that looked like fun. I should call my local GameStop and see if they have this for the Wii.
Love your runs Mexican!
8:00 Ahahah the way he saying "fckn milimetr or 2 frames to fckn miss it maaan"
I’ve beat this game once as an adult with save states and played many times as a kid never getting far, I never knew this game had level skips that is really cool! I just recently started watching people run games and the stuff you learn about them is very extensive! Congrats on a great run!
Impressive! Congrats, dude!
WTF @1:02?!?!? This is amazing, but I'd like to see how fast someone can beat it without glitching through half the levels. Fantastic job, though. I learned so much! I had no idea you could kill the rat in Rat Race!
I have a video called Battletoads 100% where I don use glitches, and another one that I did hitless glitchless "perfect run". You should check them out.
Fantastic job on levels you didn’t skip those were entertaining to watch.
