Learn this arrangement with video lesson, tab, and email support.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The theme from the popular T.V. show, this arrangement is a fingerstyle piece that uses a motif to build a composition. A motif is a repeating series of notes (a.k.a: a phrase) used throughout a piece of music. The intro is the motif in this song, and it is repeated throughout the arrangement as a way to help build tension. Compare this to another famous piece that uses a motif: Beethoven’s 5th Symphony.
This arrangement was written in 6/8 and should be counted in 2 bar sections: 1 2 3 (bar 1) 4 5 6 (bar 2). The rhythms consist of quarter notes and eighth notes. I would count the bars either before and/or during playing. This will help you lock into the “feel” of the song, as it is steady and pulsing.

You'll need LOADS of compression to get it to sound like he does on the hammers. It won't sound like that in the air in front of you, but if you mic it and listen through headphones in realtime thru a DAW or Amplitube Free or something, you can get it the way he plays (as long as you also really develop some hammering technique like he has, but it isnt anywhere near as hard as just trying to do it with a raw, acoustic uke sound will make you think, don't let it frustrate you)

Rewatching GoT and had to learn this on my Uke! Your version sounds the best versus all the other tutorials I’ve found, but it’s the most complex. My fingers are aching lol. I find myself rewinding the video a LOT.
Although I wish there was a close up on your hands, or the chords/string #s up on screen as you pluck them , so when I’m going faster or putting everything together I still have the sequence as it’s happening. If that makes sense.
I know the chords can be found on the site, but I find it helpful to have them popping up on screen as you do them. Thank you for this tutorial !! I’m determined to learn. It gets (slightly) easier each time I try.

This is my first time playing a string instrument (any instrument actually) and I am struggling with something. How do you posture your hand to fit your middle and ring finger side by side for the hammer on on the 8th during the second bar of the verse?!?!? It keeps muting and I feel like there isn't room lol. Also, Thank you for making this. I have made it at least to the second part of the verse and I have never played before. Very thorough video.
