I hope Rebecca Bross always feels proud of her accomplishments. Her knee injury was so severe... she never fully recovered physically, and I think that hurt her confidence as well. She still won so many world medals, including all around champion at the America Cup. One of the greats!
Mallorie Evans I have this through watching every single meet from 96 onwards now, when you can see him skulking around in the background. Vile, evil wankstain that he is.
Yeah it sucks she wasn’t able to make the olympics, but she had a great career. She is a 6 time world medalist (including 2 in the all around), was national champion, and American cup champion. She had a great career, even though it was probably not the career she could have had. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Holy cow I haven't seen Chelsea in years! Old gym memories just popped into my head :) her first release was awesome. Thank you for having this channel! I love it
The way they put SO much pressure on Rebecca, it's no wonder 2012 played out the way it did for her--the injury on top of the intense media hype she was getting... Look what happened to Simone in 2021, after years of the media constantly hyping her up. It's too much for one person to handle.
rebecca bross, and shawn johnson are a little bit like me. i used to shoot in pool tournaments, and i tried to avoid conversations with anyone else while i was involved in the competition. that was the only way i could keep my mind focused on my goal.
@QPHashSS77 I had to google that one and for some reason Shannon miller came up (not listed as the winner, but the focus of the result) even though I knew she had won the silver. I was a big zmeskal fan back then, so I had blocked out that olympics!
The 2000 and 2004 teams were the least interesting to watch imo, not because they don't have the talent nor them being unable to perform the big skills, it was because none of them drew me into their routines. Even though Carly won the AA, I was watching Khorkina and Anna Pavlova the whole time, which still saddens me cuz I believe that AA bronze should've been Pavlova's
I really hate how the commentators have hyped up a number of gymnasts over the years. Some, like Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas, lived up to the hype (more or less). Others, like Jordyn Wieber, Mattie Larson, and Rebecca Bross, have not.
It's a sport. You root, cheer and, hype ppl up. But it's still a very fickle sport where anything can change from a meet where you don't hit, to injury, so obviously the ppl they are going to hype up are the ones who in that moment are doing amazing. Like if Simone had a bad injury, or if like at most of her other meets Jordyn hit 4/4 at the Olympics, things would be different. I love the sport and I totally hype people up full well knowing that nothing is set in stone. When it comes down to it all the girls you listed were successful, talented and well deserving of the hype at that moment.
What always bugged me was during the 2012 Olympics, they hyped Jordyn so much because of her (barely won) World title, that they were damn near speechless when she didn’t qualify to the AA. I don’t remember hearing any true congratulations for Gabby or Aly, with the exception of the interviews. Even the look on Marta’s face was that of someone in mourning.
Never understood why Rebecca Bross never changed her dismount on beam. She missed most of them from 2010-2012. I feel horrible for how her career ended.
She was actually hitting them pretty decently at the start of 2010 but the landings got bad after she suffered injuries and the dismount didn't help them. I feel like she should have changed it too, at least until she was healed enough to use it
It was nice to see R. Brass win. She always looks so sad. It was nice to see her eyes light up and smiling. Near the end when that nasty predator took Kytra to the back. I wonder if it affected the focus on the girls finishing their bean routines?
They didn't know that Aly liked to be called Aly. It was her first year as a senior and they are used to saying the entire name. My actual name is Alexandra as well, and I've had to tell teachers throughout my life to call me Alex. They simply didn't know at the time and it's just something you are used to doing. It's just second nature to me now to tell people who use my full first name to call me Alex
Also keep in mind that of you don't know her personally Alexandra is the name that even to this day shows up on the board/screen beside each event when she's competing. I'm sure this is probably one of the last things on her mind after all these years.
Gosh, Mihai was such an ass to his gymnasts when they made mistakes. Only once do I recall him saying something along the lines of "It's ok, don't worry about it" and that was to Alicia in Day 1 of these championships.
Its amazing to watch Aly's transition on floor from 2010-12. Its shows how hard work pays of.
Mattie's floor exercise work is exquisite. It brings me in every single time.
mattie on floor is everything, so sad and weird to know what she was going through at the same time..
I hope Rebecca Bross always feels proud of her accomplishments. Her knee injury was so severe... she never fully recovered physically, and I think that hurt her confidence as well. She still won so many world medals, including all around champion at the America Cup. One of the greats!
They were underestimating so much Aly..
Watching Larry Nassar escorting Kytra Hunter into a back room ALONE just gave me the worst creeps! Ugh...
SO SCARY
It is just disgusting. How would you allow that?
Mallorie Evans I have this through watching every single meet from 96 onwards now, when you can see him skulking around in the background. Vile, evil wankstain that he is.
I just noticed that and almost cried
All those young women, and he had an all access pass. Truly disgusting. A despicable human being.
Alicia flew down that runway! It would be interesting to know the speeds of the top vaulters in the world.
Aly's double pike is so high!!!!!
Shout out to Zamarripa for hitting her beam dismount after the fall
Mattie Larson was another level on the floor.
I love how Bridget was just kinda working the ground at this meet;)
I feel so sorry for Rebecca Bross. I really wanted her to at least be an alternate on the Olympic team :(
lion9008 yeah but she fell three times on bars at Olympic trials and once on beam so her chances were gone.
I partly blame the Patterson dismount on beam. She should’ve changed it.
Yeah it sucks she wasn’t able to make the olympics, but she had a great career. She is a 6 time world medalist (including 2 in the all around), was national champion, and American cup champion. She had a great career, even though it was probably not the career she could have had. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@nathanielhalls1893 I don't think she was going to make the team anyway. She was only doing bars and beam by then and Kyla Ross was better on both.
Sadly she peaked in the middle of the quad.

Love Kytra’s FX. Great music, great choreography.
the amount of dabs in rebeccas floor i CANT

Liz Miller 2021**
Now it's next summer 😭 gotta wait another year.
Mattie's last pass was so on and stuck, she didn't 'need' that jump out of it!
That was part of her routine 🙄🙄🙄🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
@@starlasimmons1994 it has no value though. It’s just a jump to prevent a landing deduction. If she stuck it, she should’ve just stuck it.
@@willsbob123 she did stick it. the jump is for artistry. she sticks it and then jumps after sticking it. it wasn’t a connection
Poor Mattie. Had such a sadness in her eyes
An amazing gymnast.

I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!
Damn, I almost forgot the bird nests we got in the 09-12 era. I so want to go on that floor with a hair comb!

Also, imo if Nastia had started training earlier she may have had a chance at 2012. And I think Alicia should have had a chance at 2012.
However what's not mentioned...is...Valeri wasn't Carly's coach (Yvghenny was).
someone at 0:45:39 is using shawns old floor music..
I NOTICED THAT I'm like who's was it???
GREAT ROUTINE Mattie
whose floor music is that in the background 16:40??
Caquatto looks so much like Shawn Johnson!
the floor music during alicias beam???
It’s Tosca Fantasy
36:19 wow. Rebeccas twisting is so crooked! Scary that she did the round off then sped off to the left
Alicia looks way better with this dark hair
If bross didn’t get injured , she would’ve probably made that Olympic team
Bross hit that bar routine!!!
15:56 whose floor music is that during Alicia’s beam?
Not sure who’s it is, but the music is called Tosca Fantasy :))
Bross expressing herself? Right Elfi. Get your eyes checked
43:26 that’s steliana nistors music from 2008. ❤️❤️
At 24:56 Carly's face when Nastia accidentally says they have a few secrets about Carly instead of Rebecca 😹
Omg I felt bad for Nastia lol
Rebecca Bross's floor routine is almost identical to Nastia's. Not to mention she uses the same music but with a different beat.
why wasn't aly on the podium??
Elise i had the same cuestion !!!
Elise I just got finished watching this and i was wondering too. Thats why I went to the comments to see if anyone knew. Lol
That wasn't the AA podium, it was the bars podium. You can even hear the announcer say uneven bars if you listen closely
Wow Mattie Larson. Did she go to worlds after that
yes
yes she did but had some struggles on floor exercise in the qualifications and team event
1:08:00 pra onde lary nassar está levando ela?
Caquatto actually had too much power on her beam dismount, a good problem for her!
I wonder what the deal was between Zamarripa and the lady at 23:49. Such a cold swerve lol
who was on floor when mattie was on beam?
Annette Miele from Parkette's
Why does the commentator keep calling Alicie Sacramone for Sacramonie?
cause that's how you pronounce it
Hearing the commentators fawn over Alicia Sacramone like she was God's gift to gymnastics... 🙄
no offense but Patterson is the least exciting AA Champ ever
don't worry, I agree. I don't remember much about that entire team.

Extreme bias because she definitely had the talent to help the team, especially on floor
