Good review on a nice looking axe as well as how-to information Blackie! I carry a Hardcore Survivalist Hatchet for most camp chores and light felling/splitting.
Very good lesson on That Axe, Others and technique. I try not to criticize though I rather think of it as critiquing. thank you spell check. lol I've always had the knack for swinging an Axe, Sledge, Pick Axe. ect. May be from watching my Dad IDK but the hand slide is a great tip I & we take for granite. Thanks B.K.
using a axe safely is a skill..and sadly i have seen it go bad many times..one guy told me once its just like swinging a baseball bat..a yr of so later he lost 3 toes to a glance off i recall
Great video. I have not heard of this company before so I googled them. They've made axes since 1844, so they must know what they are doing being around that long. Will be looking for more videos showing you using it.
@@BLACKIETHOMAS Have you tried the Fiskar's. They look really odd, if you are a traditionalist they might look way too odd. They did to me, BUT, they actually work well. I would take mine alongside my Bruks, which says a lot.
snake..i spotted the birds were yelling at it and ya hear them in video..i saw it come our of some grass 15 ft from me..no problem..i moved it to a better place deeper in the woods
These axes are ideal for cabin builds. It's almost like a carpenters axe in use.
Excellent informational video!

We always called that a "Carpenter's Ax" because of the thin blade. Great, as you said, for not only cutting trees but fine work as well,
Right on
Very educational video Thanks, Blackie. ATB Sam Adler
Glad you enjoyed it

Definitely!
👍👍
Reminds me of the CS trail boss just a bit shorter and more refined, also reminds me that I need a new maul
Ok, I'm sold. ☺ did you have to scrape lacquer off the haft?
actually i didnt they come sanded smooth..with oil finish
Handles looks a bit think to me, but really nice commentary on the geometry of the bit in relation to use.
for the job i think it will be fine..but its not for trying to bust 36 in wide stumps for sure
