    My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ UA-cam. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of UA-cam I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on UA-cam won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This UA-cam channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
    What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
    Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
    Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different

    In this video Proof, who was Em's best friend, is portraying one of their friends, Bugz, who was a rapper who got killed. Two years later Proof is shot and killed. Quite a tragic situation. Em was really depressed after that and reached extremely low points such as overdosing.

  • @CDO1113
    @CDO1113 3 роки тому +169

    Quick recap…Dre is his mentor, the name that bleeps out is suge knight. That was Dre’s battle and he told Eminem to stay out of it. Eminem was in a war with Ja Rule because he mentioned Eminem’s daughter in a song. Then he was at war with Benzino who was high up at the Source Magazine and was basically giving Eminem and everyone affiliated with him bad reviews in the magazine, which was the main source of hip hop news at the time. Everything kept escalating…in the video, his best friend and great Detroit rapper Proof played the person who passed away in the video. Everyone is pretty sure he was playing another member of Eminem’s group named Bugz who passed after exchanging gunfire (and then I think he got hit by a car) a few years before this video came out. Then Proof who was the one with the gunshot in this video died of a gunshot wound just a few years later. Incredibly sad and eerie foreshadowing 😢

    I'll say this. Em blew around 96-99. I remember because I remember where I was living and my age. Back then there was no cancel culture. Em was also making a name for himself by being a over the top comical rapper because he knew as a white rapper he had to stand out and be original. Even with all his remarks on sexuality he had Elton perform the chorus of Stan during an awards show to show people he was just talking ish and didn't actually feel the way he was saying he felt. Its one thing to listen to Ems catalog of music out of order compared to hearing it in order as it was released. The release date combined with the topic in the song is a big part in not only understanding what he was dealing with as a white rapper making his mark but also dealing with an up and coming cancel culture. The government didn't care when black artists made rap songs that could damage black neighborhoods. When Em blew up he was reaching "White America" hence the song. He was pointing out the hypocrisy in government to try and censor his music because white kids were listening to it while ignoring black rappers music because it didn't affect white communities. Ems impact on rap and America is far deeper then people that didn't come up during his rise understand. This dude was legitimately fighting multiple battles from every direction.

    This was around the time 50 x Ja beef was on its pineacle and Em wanted to help 50 cent but Dre just told him to not involve in others people beef (until Ja Rule decided to insult Em's Daughter and Em clapped back)

    to answer your first question, Eminem never thought he was above dre he always consider Dre as Batman and himself as Robin, he's sidekick. At some point in his soung he said ''It wasn't my intentions, my intentions were good
    , I went through my whole career without ever mentionin (BLANK) '' he was talking about Suge Knight and the sound is blanked cuz dre told him to don't jump on that beef cuz it wasn't his beef so he never mentioned Suge and he just had to watch the beef from the side line.
    and the person who died in this video is Bugz, a D12 Member but proof is playing his role, the none funny part is that proof died 2 years later and almost the same way. Eminem can not even listen to this song cuz he thinks he provoked proof's death

    The other thing to keep in mind this was the 90s and early 00s these rappers were street dudes beef turned violent these days most of them aren't about the life beef used to be about more than the songs

    This song mentions beef about: Ja Rule, Irv Gottie, The Source, Ray Benzino, Suge Knight, Murder Inc. And the beef that happened between them and 50, Em, Dre, and Shady/Aftermath crew. This was the 2nd biggest and deadliest rap beef in history, period (next to The West vs. East rap war in the 90s)

    Rome Life Reactions the person that was in the hospital supposed to portray bugz a member of d12 Eminem’s group. The person portray bugz is proof a rapper from Eminem group d12. He also died almost 2 years after the released of this song in 2006. He was talking about benzino and ja rule and suge knight and beefing with them.

    “That wasn’t my intention my intentions was good, I went through my whole career without mentionin suge” em is talking about the beef that Dre had with suge knight for leaving death row records and starting aftermath he’s not talking bad about Dre. “ now I’m talking to man who literally saved my life(Dre) like fuck I understand this is business and this just ain’t none of my business” meaning Dre was trying to keep em out of his beef with suge

    Eminem's hype-man proof is the one who died, he plays himself in the video. (Which is eerie)

    • @hoopwizardws
      @hoopwizardws 3 роки тому

      He does not play himself. He's playing the role of their other homie Bugz who was shot and killed. The eerie part is that Proof unexpectedly met the same fate *just a couple years later.

    He says:
    _it wasn't my intention, my intentions were good_
    _I went through my whole career without ever mentioning Suge_
    _and that was just out of respect, and not running my mouth_
    _Talking about something that I knew nothing about_
    _Plus Dre had told me stay out. It just wasn't my beef_
    _So I did. I just fell back watched and gritted my teeth_
    _while he all over TV, down talking a man that literally saved my life..._
    He's just saying how even though Suge and Dre had that bad blood. He never got involved in it. Because Dre told him not.
    The part about someone getting killed just refers to all the threats and shit that happened during his beefs with Ja Rule and Benzino and all the people who have died in the past.
    Plus a member of D12, Bugz was killed and I've heard people say that it refers to that. But bugz was killed in 1999. Like 5 years before this song came out.
    I also heard people say Proof is kinda representing Bugz in the video though. But Bugz got shot and then ran over after an argument in a park.
    I think proof is just playing a potential member of Em's close friends who could die in the future if the beefing doesn't calm down.

    I always thought Eminem had potential to send a message, but never paid attention.........UNTIL I HEARD THIS. I admit that I am NOT a Rap or “Gangsta” fan, but this song stopped me in my tracks! Hard hitting, direct, honest and with raw emotion. You feel the pain & anger in the song. The children’s chorus is the Icing on the cake. Spot On Baby

    Yea. Benzino, founder of The Source, a huge magazine publication surrounding hip hop. He was trashing Dre, and Ja Rule did the same, saying he was washed up. 50 was discovered by, saved by Em, the same way Eminem was by Dre. "Em, you know you my favorite white boy. I owe you for this..." - 50.Patiently Waiting. There was also beef with a group out of Boston, Benzinos: Made Men. Em in this song was basically saying all this beef he wanted squashed before things went down like Tupac and Biggie.
