'Tryna judge your engine by your paint job' - This House by Tom MacDonald. But Tom has gone through a lot in his life and has helped many people along the way. He has built a huge fan base that is more of a family and the hard core HOG are some of the kindest, most supportive people you will find because we've been through some sh*t ourselves. His songs come with a message and he talks about unity, starting conversations we need to have but don't. She used to be signed with Def Jam. They screwed her over trying to turn her into a pop star. She finally bought her way out from under them and now she is coming back after 16 years. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide. He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans. He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and the ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, to not seek help from a spotter.
