Yelawolf has a niche audience, he's been more successful than most Shady artists
Arguably, more successful than most Shady artists.
@@TheGhostInTheWireshow is it arguable? We see Yelawolf on lineups all the time.
Their new collaboration " Man Up " is destined to become a Top 10 Hit ! Sorry fake critics ! Octavia$ 2024
Yelawolf is almost as huge as Eminem in NZ we love his country style
Absolutely. I don't even vibe with Yela's output anymore but I am so glad to see he's doing the type of music he wants to do.
Em doesn't regret anything. Yelawolf decided he wanted to leave and Em agreed. They're still on good terms
right......and you know this how?
You clearly don’t know how business works lol
Em is distant since yela was racist to Royce
Facts 👊🏻
@specialK312 easy look at all the artists history that came out of that label dr and em always push their artists to because their own boss do your research
Eminem was on radioactive twice what are you talking about
Yeah what 😂
He’s an uninformed idiot
This dude dont got faxx str8 yela killing it
Em also did a feature on Love Story
Twice?
His “radioactive” project is actually very solid from front to back.
Eh… it’s weak compared to his later work, and like Yela said he barely had a say in shit during the making of that album
I like the album and I think eminem let him find himself with that album to then create a masterpiece in Love Story
Yela is in no way a failure hes still out here gettin it
I haven't heard a yelawolf song in 10 years
Yelawolf - make a believer , it's off his sometimes Y album
@@ThaWiz11 Quite honestly, that's your own fault. He released multiple, projects since then and in a steady manner. Still touring. Dude is doing very well for himself. He even has a sort of sequel to Love Story either coming out or about to drop. War Story.

There was absolutely an Eminem verse on a badass fucking song in radioactive
Yela is definitely hard headed, stubborn and made some bad decisions, but he also is very created and innovative. His latest albums are the best examples, the man can do a rock album, a country album and it sounds dope af. Being independent suits him and I'm glad he took steps to apologize and clarify his position. Shame he couldn't get along with multiple legends, wishing him the best though because his music is certainly 💯
Mud Mouth was incredible, and Sometimes Y was just as amazing, it reminds me of like 80s rock and roll he’s extremely versatile
You didn't mention his collab album with caskey. That was straight rap and it was fire af honestly
Caskey was one of my fav but idk he switched the style and personally I’m not the biggest fan
Or the album he did with DJ MUGGS (of Cypress HIll) the same year which was 100% hop-hop this dude didn't do enough research.
Pure 🔥 all the way through. So Hip-Hop
facts. Yela been doing well after he left Shady with Trunk Muzik 3 and that was a banger
Yelawolf x Blacksheep 2 is going to be 🔥 🔥 🔥
Calling yela a failed rapper is wild....
That’s what I was thinking 😅
Yela didn't "FAIL" Em🤦🤦🤦... I can't even take you serious....
@@joedirt5720 what has he done?
@@Woter_X The man has a liquor empire (Creekwater) his own label that DJ Paul from 3 6 Mafia is signed to (Slumerican) as well as other artists.... His own store and clothing line in Nashville.... And a GLOBAL touring artist... His net worth is more than you or the channel creator will EVER have in several lifetimes🤦
I never heard his music anywhere...
Yelawolf will always have his fanbase that likes his music so he didn't need Shady to begin with. After 50 Cent, Shady Records became one of the worst labels out there for promoting their artists. It doesn't help that 99% of Shady Record's fanbase is just Eminem Stans. They just wanna hear Eminem. Also I don't think Eminem or his Stans were looking for the next great white rapper to carry his legacy. Every white rapper who tries to rap fast like Eminem is kinda corny. Want some examples? Listen to "Death to Mumble Rap." It's why White rappers like Mac Miller, Action Bronson, and Jack Harlow found success. They weren't trying to sound like Eminem.

Not true, Griselda blew up on Shady
The group was a label of it's own@@Kiki-xx3fj
You ain't lying bro
@Kiki-xx3fj wrong! Griselda were making music years before Shady and grew their fan base independently. Benny the Butcher was never even signed to Shady.
That's funny because Yela has his first ever top-40 hit right now, and highly-anticipated new album, "War Story". The general consensus was that Shady failed Yela, not the other way around. I fw with your content, but this video is definitely misguided and you should probably do better thorough research. Yelawolf is thriving right now and is arguably at his peak.
Totally agree bro. As a black American fan of yela I always support him been listening to him since 2011 and he's definitely evolved. War story is gonna be dope, I hope him and Royce can work out whatever happened though, I respect both of them as emcee's. #SlumericanShit

He just did a LA leakers freestyle
I'm mostly familiar with him because of his song 'Till it's gone' being the soundtrack to the crazy guy driving through a parade. Great song, actually.
One of my favorites from yela
I wouldn't call him "failed" . Dude's done a lot in his career. More than most. A brand name, a clothing line, a store, barber shop, tattoo shop, two documentary series, a movie role, plenty of different albums and eps, a whiskey company, etc.
This video is so misleading. For one, Yela got like 3 verses from Em. 2. The whole meltdown situation happened during the release of Trial By Fire. Not during Love Story .That was actually a whole few years AFTER Love Story.
You should maybe do better research in the future my guy.
Sounds like a successful entrepreneur to me, failure is subjective anyways. Seeing a lot of comments fact correcting so seems like he got a lot wrong 😬
@@shanel4294he lied about alot. Behind shady and 50 cent, Yelawolf sold the most records for shady. And Yelawolf was one of the few artist that Eminem told shady records to lay off and let Yela be Yela. So he could go back to creating with dj Paul, DJ klever and Will Power. Yelawolf and Will Power literally made it together.
Every time y’all keep trying to fight about him not actually being failed, y’all bring up his clothing and liquor brands which is irrelevant because we’re talking about music like please be serious. He’s not on any charts, he’s not a bigger name than he could’ve been, like hello? Whether he has his own endeavors outside of rap or not, bottom line is nobody walking down the street gassin his shit up. He’s not a household name so yes, he’s failed Eminem because investments were made for his music since he wants to be idk ...maybe a musician before everything else happened and his music fucking flopped anyway and he didn’t carry on the be the next “great white rapper,” so we as a society still only notices Eminem as the only one that matters.
@@indianbellydancer1 keep listening to the top twenty countdown old man. You know nothing about music.
If MTV was a person, it will look like this guy
Bro. Couldn't be any more correct.
Underrated asf comment sir.
Yelawolf is fire! He's releasing a new album this year and has founded his own label. He fulfilled his contract with Shady Records and parted ways, more than you can say for Joe Budden. Yela ain't a failure, and they're still on pretty good terms according to Yela.
Eminem did have a verse on yelawolfs debut album, it was throw it up with gangsta boo?
Dope verse
That song is 🔥
Not a debut album
Yela got bars and delivery. Add that to his real understanding of musicality.
Sure it’s not your typical ATL thievery but his production is well polished
Dude. Yelawolf has built a cult fanbase. He didn't need Eminem. In 2021 he released 3 projects and he'll still putting out music. Just because a rapper isn't visible doesn't mean he isn't successful, the mainstream is a dirty game so I understand the independent Hustle more and more.
yeah this video aint it
Yelawolf has his first top-40 hit right now.
Okay nobody cares about you liking culture vultures you all are probably vultures as well
Yealawolf could have been way bigger than what he is at the moment that’s the point of the video.
@@westcoastenvy Which song?
Eminem had a feature on "Radioactive"😂. The track is called "Throw It Up" with Gangsta Boo
"Best Friend". One of Eminem's best verses EVER is on a Yelawolf track. 🤡
absolutely bro. this is trash
Ive seen yela live 3 times. Dude is one of the best live there is
Yup, and he doesn't use a backtrack. He's so dope and innovative with his music.
Yup I agree I loved his show.
Same he's crazy wild!
I don’t agree with everything shared in this video. Eminem actually did appear on the Radioactive album. He did a verse on Throw It Up alongside Gangsta Boo (Bless her memory 🙏).
Another issue that Yelawolf had with Shady Records was that the label wanted Ed Sheeran to sing the chorus in American You, which made no sense at all because he’s a UK based artist.
Since Yelawolf left Shady Records, it hasn’t been doom and gloom. It’s not about what position an artist has in the Billboard or whatever chart or how much wealth is being generated. Yelawolf has gone on to create AMAZING work and is still dropping plenty of albums under his Slumerican label.
I don't think you can emphasize it enough about how well the guy is doing. Very well, and there's no stopping for awhile for him.
Yelawolf is legendary. Loved ghetto cowboy too.
Thank you for not being afraid to curse in your videos. It’s refreshing to hear people talk without blank spots where the sweats are 🙏

I feel pretty confident he is in a better place now than he's ever been. He has freedom and a solid following. I don't think the mass popularity lane would equate to mass happiness. Eminem is a recluse hiding in a mansion and way too famous to have a good life. I hope the n-word stuff isn't legit. What I mostly see from this video is someone who is their own man and he seems willing to own his part about being difficult at times.
The only reason most people know yella is through eminem. Eminem didnt need to do anything else but do a couple features and announce hes on the label and the fans came and stayed. It was a good deal for both sides yella got bigger, em made some money and had a nice rapper on his label. With or without eminem or any label, yella will continue to put out good music his fans enjoy and eminem will do fine. No loss on either side
Facts
Kind of a loss on Em’s side though, many artists came out and said that Shady Records did extremely poorly at promoting their artists, I mean, when yelawolf put out his album Trial By Fire, the only “promotion” they did for the album was Paul Rosenberg posting a picture of the CD on his ig.
@@Rylanha even with more promotion behind yellawolf there wouldn't of been exponential growth in views. Yellawolf has a niche audience that's dedicated to his music but he's not the type of artist to blow up. Very niche to southern audiences which he's found
Yela had a sizable following before Em with songs like Pop the Trunk and Daddy’s Lambo. I remember he was on fantasy factory with Rob Dyrdek
@@emptee4494 I'm aware been listening to yella for awhile but his following still tripled once Eminem signed him
Yelawolf did not fail. He might have not become a pop sensation but still made some timeless tracks
Trunk Muzik and Radioactive were both great albums for me during a great time. Hip hop had a void that was finally being filled with Yelawolf, Kendrick, KRIT, Cole, Joey Badass, Wale, Big Sean, Meek Mill, Wiz, YG, Nipsey, Dom, Drake, ASAP, Pusha, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Tyler, Earl, Vince, Mac Miler, and so much more. It was a great time for music and hip hop was competitive and not at all biast or rigged. It just all came so organic. I listened to a little bit of Trunk Muzik 2, but after that i didn't stay too connected to Yelawolf. I feel like he just went back to his roots and ehat made him happy and ehat his core fan base really wanted frok him because in reality people still love that guy like the people that rocked with him on some day one shit. A lot of fans, like myself, stopped listening when he took out the hip hop aspect of his music and filled it with country, folk, rock, and soul. I still respect him though because he didn't care for trends, money, and fame. He just wanted to make music for himself and for his true fans.
Edit: Btw Stereo was a sick ass mixtape and I liked that Yelawolf ass well.
Your crazy, Yela has fans, been one since Box Chevy 1. Been a fan for 13 years half my life
I swear yela is so talented and different from most artists. I enjoyed a lot of his music especially his trunk muzik era. Yela is goated

Not very white rapper will be eminem. Yela is great and I love his music and it's thanks shady record that I heard of him and continue to listen to him
I respected all of your vids up to this point... Yela's fkn LIIIT!!!
Trunk music 0-60 is a gem mixtape from the “blog era”
How is yela a failed rapper... He's making a living off music, no one tells him what kind of music he should make and has a big, loyal fanbase... Way more successful than some of the biggest names out there owing millions to their labels and being forced to make some shitty copypaste music they dont even like themselves...
No one ever mentions he chose wrap over a professional skateboarding career
Never knew that! Good sh**
Wrap?
good choice
Ik many people forget that, he was crazy on a board 🔥
My microphone dictated poorly, hence “wrap”
Love your videos man ❤
Yela is a top tier rapper who's always done his own thing and stayed true to himself. I don't think he failed Shady at all, he's just not a style that's very commercial in this modern landscape. His fanbase may be smaller, but they're dedicated and loyal, so he's prolly doing just fine in his own lane.
I LOVED this dude!! I always wondered what happened to him.
He still is putting out dope music bro. Check out his new single called "New Me" been messing with yela since 2011
Trunk Muzik III and Ghetto Cowboy are good projects. Yela still cooks but doesn't get as much attention.
@@Razieleatssouls exactly, I agree bro. I can't wait for "war story" love story was another good album in my opinion.

I could see writing a song then having it shelved for a year is super frustrating also it’s a year later some people get wiser and have different views then they once had
Yelawolf had that drug problem he was dealing with and went to rehab after his 2nd album with shady. When he got out and got clean, everybody had moved on. He also came out during the end of physical cd purchase and the start of music streaming. That definitely hurt album sales
I still think yelawolf is a great rapper and he is very underrated. He's had some great features in the past such as 1train and best friend.

Eminem has failed almost every artist he has signed. He gets the spotlight but the promotion is always trash. Slaughterhouse, Griselda, Crooked. Theres so many super talented artist that Shady could never get higher than the mid level market.
Obie Trice
Remember the 2 hour rant Joe Budden on Eminem. He mentioned this very point . Now Eminem is hands off his artists so there's more creative freedom. Westside Boogie, Ez Mil and GRIP are doing good in Shady ESPECIALLY GRIP. GRIP released a banger of an album 'I died for this!?' under Shady in 2021.

Yelawolf > anything Eminem’s made in the last 10 years
I also think Eminem failed his artist as well. He is so used to being a worker and not a manager and worker mentality doesnt always translate to manager mentality. Its like people who know math but cant teach math

@@brianstone3722 it doesn't mean he's not a good dude. He just needs to hire better managers for shady records and sign people for what they do at the moment not their supposed projection
I think the problem with shady records is people want to hear Em so much that nobody stands a chance on that label. There could be some miss management but the best thing Em can do for you is give a verse and that will be your biggest song. Em is just to big.
@@heyitstheblackguy I agree that makes sense.

The Clickbait, false Thumbnail is idiotic.
Yela definitely ain’t a failed artist and he didn’t fail with Shady records either. Usually you seem to put out stuff that has facts in it but the entire outset of this one is a miss.
Yelawolf is already a Legend, one of the most creative artists to ever exist

The black reporter in the Yella Wolf interview got his "you full of 💩" mug on😅😅😅😅😅
Em having a problem with Kid Rock is kinda odd to me. One: because he’s collaborated with Kid Rock. Two: I’m pretty sure around the same time he was working on Yela’s album, Kid Rock appeared in Em’s video for Bezerk, the same song where he shouted out and also referenced a Kid Rock song in a positive light. To me, this doesn’t really line up with the story of him not wanting Kid Rock on the song.
Yela was wack, got a few alright songs but he's wack af especially as a person outside of being an artist and that's what fucks up a lot of shit for him as an artist.
I'm sure you're perfect and all these other folks are as well. Including any artists you listen to. Dude's dope. Especially, definitely, after leaving Em's label.

@Louaista Yelawolf is a multi talented artist, my absolute favourite, he has made and is still making music, country mixed with rap, rock, I really think that's a shitty title to this episode, his talent is off the chart, and it's not just my opinion, he's a fantastic rapper, I can hear every word he raps and he's fast, and the man can dance lol.
I really enjoy your channel and all the research you do and effort put in, great job!
I'm about to watch now, I've always agreed with you on other episodes but this one has got me!
Didn't like yela fee years ago but he worked on his craft now I love him
Em was on Radioactive. Throw Em Up feat. Eminem and Gangsta Boo.
Also, I know this vid is focused on him and Eminem, but he had a pretty big buzz before. He had 3 mixtapes/albums before signing with shady, with Trunk Muzik being the runaway. He was on the original Worldwide Choppers with Tech N9ne and a lot of people heard him on there first with his distinctive voice.
Just odd to kinda call his rise "he tried and tried then finally made this one song and then got a Em call".
Hypercritical, but I do enjoy this video tho and will be subscribing!
Yela was one of the best performances I've ever seen
3:23 Eminem actually did have a verse on radioactive on throw it up
Yela's dope man...
Yelawolf's struggle after Love Story came because of the loss of his best friend Shawty Fatt, his break up with Fefe, and also his addiction. It was a lot of shit that happened that had him breakdown mentally during that stretch that you mentioned at 9:20.
well I always like his music because it always seemed like it was actually his lyrics and style regardless of where money came from to make it. there just isn't much I can actually compare it too it's very unique. Eminem can't be refurbished anyway lol
I always liked that dude's music, at least some of the songs I heard. Clearly was talented, didn't realize Em signed him and such.
i don't know how to feel about that "beef". I could easily seeing it go either way. Royce is definitely over valued in this video, and isn't much ahead of Yela at all. And thats before we factor in that its not even Royce's word anyway. Its SECOND HAND complaining from someone we don't even know.... Although i could believe some southerners using it without any issue, I don't think we have enough here to side one way or another. Btw qouting Marlo like that, goofy af...
Eminem was on Radioactive lol
Love Story came out my senior year of high school. I remember bumping it almost everyday. Fast forward to last year I saw it in a record store as a “rarity” so I paid the 150 dollars for it. That album is sacred to me.
Can't wait for War Story coming out this year. I think you picked that up at a good time.
Em did have a feature credit on radioactive actually. Gangsta Boo and Em were on the song throw it up
I listen to a lot more Yelawolf than I do Eminem. I’m not sure what you mean by him “not living up to his full potential”. He’s making the music he wants to make and makes a very comfortable living doing so. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Me too
I remember perceiving Yelawolf like that, like the next “whapper”, I liked his music at the beginning- especially “Till it’s gone” which is in a playlist I still play to this day. Always wondered what happened to him. Glad to see he’s still rapping his own way 👍👍
He's doing way better than what this video probably has said. Has dropped multiple projects, has his own liquor brand, Creek Water. The stuff he released since leaving Em's label has hit the mark for the most part. He's got a sequel album to Love Story coming out this year some time....summer I think.
Bruh you have no idea what youre talking bout, Yelawolf on fire 😂😂
