This is a good portable machine. Best for form to form work. You can earn good money with this machine. Pays for itself over and over.

Very nice machine. When I bought my power screed I wanted a top of the line piece of equipment. There are a lot of bo-bo brands out there. I wound up buying an Allen Magic Screed (which I love). At the time I didnt know Marshelltown made a power screed. If I came across this one first I may have considered buying it. Im a fan of the L blade design as appose to the bulky box blades. If you know how to use these machines, they make placing much easier and cut down on labor. I always screed on wet pads and have never had a problem. Most of my work is stamped concrete, so the aggregate being pushed down and the cream rising to the surface makes for a beautiful highly impressionable surface. Without even using the shockwave I can tell from my experience with power screeds, and this video that this is a great tool from a great company.

It just looks wet on the surface because of the vibration. If you look at him using the wet screed you'll see how well the concrete supports the blade. There will be no cracking issues.

We see that you had some issues wet screeding with the Shockwave. Please understand that the Shockwave was designed specifically to handle wet screeding as well as form to form screeding. We have had numerous contractors use our screed with no problems on wet beds similar to the video. We are wondering if there may have been some other factors that caused the unit to dig into the wet beds, what slump were you pouring at and what was the vibration set at? Thank you for your input.

if its digging its because of high slump concrete too much throttle and moving too slow..these are great machines but you need to be a good operator

Nice to see ergonomics designed into the tool, how about more shock absorbing grips? Renaud's syndrome is prevalent because of vibratory tools

We are having a problem with our power screed not propelling itself as it's supposed to do. It runs, it vibrates, but it will not propel itself. It has something to do with the worm not functioning properly. Anybody know anything about this?

    • @TheTomBevis

Rattlestick and Shockwave seem to be designed for different uses. Shockwave for screed and Rattlestick for jointing and edging, maybe?
I have always found Marshaltown products to be superior for concrete work of any kind.

Those guys using the come alongs in the video have no idea what they're doing. Digging way too low, everyone is everywhere. The one guy trips over the form too. I would hope there was some wire under that concrete, but I didn't see anyone lifting anything up. The video only showed screening for a few seconds at a time which isn't very convincing either. I feel like a better example and demonstration for this tool could have been provided. Looks like it would save my back a ton of work over my manual aluminum screeder bars, but I'm not so sure given the video provided.
