I really admire how generous the runner ups are, to the winner and really all are winners, imagine doing a portrait in oils or acrylics in four hours with so many people watching!!
I wish they would have a rotation of judges. I can usually predict at least two who are the judges’ final three and that’s not necessarily because they are artists I would chose.
Wow, just part way through and so impressed with the 17 yr old. So articulate, mature and talented (painting for only a year)! She has a bright future ahead...
Your show is interesting, informative, fun and beautiful, I do like the format. May I suggest next season include a Guest judge from the location you are visiting say the museums curator. I would like to see a shot of all the finished work at the end.
It's so interesting to see this very first episode, after years of watching the later ones! TY for posting!!! Will you be posting the LAOTY '23 that starts today?
Why oh why is the first comment of every, and I mean every episode, negative. Of course art is subjective, including the judges. I don’t mind watching all episodes more than once. It’s some of the best on UA-cam.
What would irritate the heck out of me..... is having one of these judges come in and continue to break my focus when I'm already stressed to work in such a short time span. I've noticed how they talk more with some than others.
10:19 Why is Tai-Shan surprised about people taking photographs? I remember several years ago there were quite a few artists that were using photography to assist their portraiture. Has he forgotten? This isn't new to the show.
Thought this was filmed in 2023 and wondered how the main characters all manage to age backward while I get older every day. Must say, I like this format less than the format of later years.
This is free content uploaded on a public platform. The title states “Season Premiere in London…” It does not claim to be the most recent series/season. YT displays the date of upload. UA-cam’s terms of service do not require channels to provide the production/broadcast date of copied commercial programming. If you are seeking the most recent episodes, including the year of production in your search query might improve your results.
I have watched 4 seasons of these now. I find tremendous inspiration artistically in watching them. My art is metalsmithing; silversmithing in particuar. I have to say, as much as the director lady may know about 2 dimensional art, her taste in jewelry is, to me, quite boring and ordinary. One necklace she wore was comprised of what looks like WWII mines ready to explode unexpecting submarines to bits. While wearing unusual jewelry is always impressive to me, the subject that the jewelry represents should still be reasonably tasteful. WWII submarine mines are not tasteful to me. Other pieces she wears in all 4 seasons I watched are completely uninteresting in color and composition. I just find it remarkable that someone can claim impressive skills in identifying exceptional art but limits that skillset to that of the 2 dimensional kind. Jewelry is every bit as artistic an expression of your soul as paintings can be as you wear it as a representation of yourself.
"I hate this work. For me it's just too mug-shot. It looks like he's just been caught drink driving..." Really? Because you're in the business, I think you would have learned how to frame things you don't like in a positive light. You're a judge here, not an cooking show critic.
"To be recognize for doing something you love... are the happiest people on earth." I believe everyone desires this, great quote.
omg that silhouette guy was amazing!!
Thank you kindly for making this series available. I'm going to watch every one of them!
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for uploading this series!!!!!
The very first one! The world was so simple and innocent back then... 😉
I really admire how generous the runner ups are, to the winner and really all are winners, imagine doing a portrait in oils or acrylics in four hours with so many people watching!!
You said mumu once
But thanks for the clarity. I thought it was
Didn't know which of the versions was right
Love this program. Also love Home of the Year.
I wish they would have a rotation of judges. I can usually predict at least two who are the judges’ final three and that’s not necessarily because they are artists I would chose.
shoot...I thought this was a new season...seen them all!
Wow, just part way through and so impressed with the 17 yr old. So articulate, mature and talented (painting for only a year)! She has a bright future ahead...
It would be great if you could put Season and Episode #s in your title.
You hear them say things like their work is too familiar or traditional. Nothing beats good solid art.
I wish we could see all of the finished portraits
Darn I got sucked in too... Thought it was a new season..

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great choice.
Merci 😊🙏
Thank you
That shadow artist should have been in the competition.

I enjoyed these exhibits, they were so fantastic. Sylvia from Canada.
Winner here a slam dunk
Ty😊
Good luck foreign artists. Good luck
The right choice. It's ORIGINAL. The most realistic face of La Stevenson.
Fabulous!
5:26 idk what the judges are seeing there, it's super dull

I thought it was new too, I hate that they always say new and never post how old they are-Clickbait is everywhere
do painters get to use their time to ask the subject questions?
10:19 Why is Tai-Shan surprised about people taking photographs? I remember several years ago there were quite a few artists that were using photography to assist their portraiture. Has he forgotten? This isn't new to the show.
Because it is actually a very early episode
Is this a new season? I think I have seen this before.
You are NOT dreaming…..
I do not seem to like the strongest artist, they like something different.
These are old episodes refiltered aren't they?
What year is this?
Right!! I think this is from years ago
Thought this was filmed in 2023 and wondered how the main characters all manage to age backward while I get older every day. Must say, I like this format less than the format of later years.
Didn't pick the one I would have chosen ..
I am Freelance Portrait Artist
sorry but the judge's picks on this show are just baffling, don't agree much at all again
Well that is sad. I had hoped it was going to be a new one. This is an old one
Not a new season, what is the point here?

they picked THAT as the winner? wtf
What a MAJOR disappointment……I have waited for a new session to start…..I was so happy, until I found out it is only a repeat……
Hate it when that happens

The judges are so predictable. I'm surprised there weren't any drips. Abstraction wins over real talent every time.

I am not happy with the final judgement.
Two women and a guy as finalists, but the guy wins with his patchy unfinished portrait. Ok then.
The youngest judge is an artists... a sham artist. She's a saleswomen and has no business judging art.
