Mate, everybody has big claims of the best car in Aus but you can proudly say and back it up that you have the best 80 series by far. I would give anything to have that kind of engineering and fabrication skills in South Africa to produce a car like that. Well done mate and congratulations on an epic channel and awesome vehicle.
Nice build. Looks mint from the outside. Shame it wasn’t sprayed as the original red inside looks woeful with the outside wrap. Maybe next stage will be full re-spray?
Best purpose built tough-track/comp 80 I’ve ever seen. Though not the most practical beast to take on the road anywhere. I won’t bash you over that, because you included that caveat when you introduced those coil-over towers. Love to see the engineering cert process now and a cost break-down so we can see what something like this would cost the non-sponsored average punter.
Australia's toughest trailer queen 😅. Treps. No sway bars Hiem joints all round. Rim size Head lights If this does pass engineering as it sits please share the guys name as I have some highly illegal cars at home that I would like to get passes aswell
@@SamYoung4x4 wow sway bars still don't make up for everything else necessary for engineering. I still stand by what I said untill you show a full report of it passing engineering as it sits on the suspension wheel and tire package you currently have .
@Beau Smith I've noticed that as well. I also noticed the 80 is on NSW historic plates, which is a big no-no to my knowledge for the criteria for historic rego
@@johnwalters6025 it's allowed if more then 30 yrs old. However with all the work done them plates need to be handed back before he wrecks it for everyone else who uses the historical rego scheme.
Instead of a full box over the rear shock towers could you just seal off each tower? Looks like 3 out of 4 sides are solid. Could see it getting very messy inside the box and then you'll open it up
Fair dinkum. At this stage you'll be sad to see the NGTY40 come back 😂. It's gonna rock up to your house in the rain and pear through the window and see you tucking this beauty into bed and singing NGTY40s favourite Song to the new build 😂
Phenomenal work, best 4WD build I’ve ever seen. 2 questions though, is the GU housing slightly wider than the rear 80 housing? And are you keeping it full time 4WD?
80 is looking mint bro I reckon you should tee up with the boys from patriot campers and his gu his just finshed his suspension and get some decent wheeling going on 🤙🏼🍻
Fantastic build!! She is looking amazing, and can't wait to see her hitting the trails, my one and only gripe would be, having a wider track width on the front than the rear, not ideal when pushing through deep mud, obviously you're gonna have enough power to push through, but there would be less stress on the resr end if the wheel track width matched the front 😉
Sammy Boy! You should not onliy be proud of this BEAST of a rig, but this channel too. All the, dare I say it, bullshit that happened to you in the last 12 months and you're still kicking. Goes to show you, like your rig, is an absolute WEAPON! Also, subtlely, nice work on the weight loss ;) Looks like your shirt is wearing you!
Sick build! Not doubting it one bit but is it me or does it appear to have the drive track of a 79 with a gu front and standard 80 rear? And not to be a downer but personally I think the whole build would of looked to goods resprayed in the factory colour rather then a shitty wrap that’s near the same cost just to open a door, bonnet or tail gate just to see the complete opposite.. loving the big travel bilstein set up tho 🤘🏼
I know its distasteful to talk money but myself and many others would love a cost breakdown especially if you can do it for the general public pricing. I just want to know a ball park figure even, we talking 40-50k to get it to this point suspension, body, chassis and barwork wise? Keep it up man, you are killing it with these vids, the 80 is very tastefully done yet outrageous at the same time
@SamYoung4x4 you probably mentioned this but are you going to street drive this bad girl at all besides to/from trails? Curious what you think of the heim performance later down the road and the maintenance of lube and cleaning vs a sealed Johnny joint. Rig looks amazing super jealous hope you get to enjoy it soon!
All looks really mint... Being someone that says you are all about symmetry, having the brush bars follow the exact shape of the flares, front and back would have looked EVEN better.!!! Brilliant otherwise.!
What a beast and I hope you look after the boys at Kinsellas, you're gonna have to learn how to drive a car with 1000 ho it's a hoot as a passenger even better as a driver, good luck man I look forward to the finish line
Beautiful build Sam, Thanks for the content. PS: Can you please use metric when referencing measurements? Just asking....because we're not yanks. Pleazzzzzzzzzzz :)
how far out is the rear track width you will have to figure something out cause rear track matching the front is important or you just end up sliding in the wet
It looks good. Considering the high number of cuts you did the to front fenders of the 80 and somehow still make it look standard is brilliant work. I too like symmetry, so a fan of the centred rear wheel carrier. I hate it when the rear wheel covers part or all of the 80s rear tail-light, or worse when the wheel sticks out beyond the side of the vehicle. Are bead-lock wheels now legal to use on public roads? I thought they were illegal in all states (for public road use)?
Seriously you have the personality and presence when speaking I could easily see you as a presenter on some sort of TV show. Ohh and each time I hear the fart noises when you dr a so called bad word, makes me giggle like a 10 year old hearing his teacher swear for the first time . ( I’m 50 ) 😂😂🤣👍
@@harrywalker968 the "dumpster fire" is not really a build to the same calibre as ngty80 considering the constraints of the competition it is being built for. Gotta spray inside the doors and under the bonnet to match the vinyl wrap, only thing that detracts from the build is visibility of the original paint
