Best travel blog ever! “The High, Low, High” footage was awesome. Good friends, good food and ultimately remembering simple blessings. How many of us have had the same or similar experiences or want that experience with our fishing buddies? Fishing is more than fishing! Sorry the hard drive crashed. Thankful you made this vlog. Stay safe, win this event (but you already have) God Bless!
Hate you lost your footage but this is definitely one of the best vlogs y’all have done! As much as I like watching the fishing, I enjoy the brotherhood of the whole group!
You seriously got me on this. When I saw the title I was like oh crap Scott has lost all his rods and tackle! I thought we were going to have to start a Go fund me! lol
Stuff happens. Its not the end of the world. You are in control of your highs and lows. You can choose to be one way or the other. You are all elite fisherman who fish for a living. Who have amazing kids friends and family. Sound like a dream to me. Awesome content as always. 😃
Hey Scott, sorry about your hard drive issues. I love the high low high. And don't worry. Nobody,s going anywhere just because you lost one vid. Stay positive brother.were all in your corner and more importantly so is God!
For years I filmed hours of Canadian wilderness fishing with friends and family. My go to was backup the sd card to the hard drive and then store the sd card without formatting it until I had uploaded the video. One year I lost most of the trip to a bad go-pro. Now I use two go-pros and still follow the same procedure with the SD cards. Cards are cheaper than memories.
Killer video. Liked the high/low chat thing. Billy is a blast.... would like to just hang out with you guys!!! Now, Hallman just killed it!!!!! Dang I have heard that saying a thousand times !!!! I’m still smiling about the deck scene.... Living and working in East Tn, it’s a adventure..
my high was excited for a scott martin upload my low was i was watching it while on the john... my high again was the everyone was kept in good spirits over the HD incident 😂😂😂
Really nice house that you guys rented it is nice and big and that sucks that you lost all of your footage I was ready for more fishing videos but good luck this time I hope it works the way you want it to work so that you will have more tournament videos I am ready for more good luck this tournament.
My top 2 biggest bass came out of Alabama waters. 7.8 pounds out of Guntersville lake, Guntersville Al. And there are at lake Neely Henry, there in Decatur Al.. I wish I still lived in Alabama just for the fishing opportunities. MR. Martin, you and you dad are my idols. I had the privilege of meeting you in Columbus ohio at the fishing expo. Thank you for your videos tips and advice. Yall are awesome!! Tight lines!!
I just saw the results for today. I know you have had a rough few days but stay positive and keep smiling. We believe in you and are will keep positive for you too. Go get them on day 2.
Scott not sure if it’s a future option, but maybe look in to a cloud storage option. I know with video storage you’ll need a decent amount of storage, but again I’d take a hard look at that.
Good luck on Cherokee. If you can figure that lake out right now pat your self on the back. It’s fishing very tough lately! I might ride up sat and watch weigh in! 👍
Sitting around watching SMC with the family. My wife decided that we are stealing the high-low-high. Pretty cool to see the personal side of these guys.
By the time you retrieve that footage DVD's will be a thing again 😆 Like billy said just forget it and move on, apparently y'all wasn't catching anything anyway! This video reminded me of what to be thankful for with the high low high game. Good friends! Andrew
Backup, Backup, Backup, is all I can say. External HDs are great as a backup for all your hard work. I'm surprised McCoy didn't do this. I learned this lesson the hard way as well a long time ago in the Military when my work computer crashed with all my work on it. Luckily the info was salvageable, but again lesson learned keep backups of everything on EHDs....
I’m going need you to pump out more content lol! B-lat says he’s not gonna be posting as much! Much love and tight lines boss! Hate the footage was loss smh 🤦♂️
Good stuff Hallman. We call it 2 good, one bad at our table. My youngest doesn’t let us leave the table without doing it. Scott, I am gonna send you a good whole pork loin brine and cook recipe. Easy to do, feeds a ton, and if y’all have never brined a loin it will be a treat. Cook her on the Traeger a couple of hours to the proper temp. Like butter.
Beautiful place to stay! I had that happen to me once which was embarrassing because I’m a software engineer 😳. Anyway, mistakes were made once, but never again. My solution was to subscribe to Dropbox. Everything goes to the cloud, but it also goes down to all the computers I attach to that account. So I have 3 physical versions in addition to cloud storage. It costs a little money... I think $129/year, but it’s worth it for the piece of mind. I love it because I don’t have to remember to do anything. If a file changes and I’m connected to the internet, Dropbox detects the change and starts moving bits around between my computers and the internet.
Was wondering about the Neely vids. Stuff happens. Bet it never happens again. On a bright note. It’s one thing showing us the baits and techniques but to see and hear how you all feel after a tough tough day. I’m absolutely loving this stuff. To have the perspective from all angles of some the top pro bass fishermen is cool and very unique in the athletic world. Even Billy’s co angler comments are super relatable. Something i and a lot of us fans can and want to do. Again thanks for the awesome peak into your world and for opening my eyes to how much detail and hard work it takes to be a top Bass pro. Then to see how incredible you are on the salt is amazing. Folks. Seriously only a handful of people on earth have these skills.
As a colleague of mine use to say, it's okay to keep all of your eggs in one basket as long as you have a duplicate basket. :') Microsoft SyncToy (or FreeFileSync for Mac), two hard drives and discipline boys. Love the content, keep it coming!!!
Loved to see all the guys sitting at a table after I'm betting, since i fished Cherokee on Sunday and it was BRUTAL, a super shitty practice day, enjoying some grub and a beer.. Besides the Bass Angler Therapy, this was an awesome glimpse into what u guys do after you get off the water... Besides a Spook you better put a spinning rod in your hand Scott..
Poor McCoy hard drives breaking, drones crashing on mountain tops and rattlesnakes. The life of a videographer seems to be pretty tough. Good luck to the whole SMC team this week.
Cloud, external drive... heck, ANYTHING to back it up so you don't permanently lose everything. I live in southeast TN down near Chick, and I can verify what Hallman said! And, I'm a little disappointed the Honeymoon Suite has no bidet. 🤣😂 Give Cherokee hell Scott! 👊🏆
Sorry about your trouble brother. When I was in management, i backed up my hard drive every day before i left work. That's my suggestion. Thank you for another great video from SMC, FAVORITE RODS, GOOGAN BAITS, YAMAHA and many more. 👊👊👊
Love the content man even if you lost some stuff, I live in East Tennessee and think this could be a great tournament if you guys hit the right stuff. There are a lot of great sayings but us ET Boyz like the saying “Wake Life” in the fall
I have lost a bunch of footage this year. I go to edit the video and the footage is all corrupt. This has happened 6 times this year on 4 different SD Cards. The only thing in common was my GoPro Hero7 Black. I haven't lost any footage on my other cameras.
Adversity builds character. Anyome can master being awesome when things go perfect but it's your bounce back game that shuts the trolls up. GIVE EM HELL SCOTT!! Oh and Billy is 1 amazing dude. So.positive and a great guy!+
I am a architectural engineer with over 15 years of autocad files for hundreds of commercial buildings. I used a external back-up hard drive for years but had concerns about damage from fire or natural disasters. My computer guy gave me the best advise, Carbonite. It backs up my chosen files when I want it to back up and I have access to everything from any location with internet connection. I was in the Keys last year on a fishing trip and needed to make changes on a project, logged onto Carbonite to save the file to my laptop and I was working within minutes. Otherwise that file was on my PC and external hard drive 900 miles away.
A couple of thoughts. 1) There are several companies on the internet that specialize in recovery of hard drives. If this did fail due to being dropped, then it may be possible to remove the disks from the unit and place them in another unit that these companies have a recover at least some of the data. 2) you should always back up to another type of media. SD Cards are one option. I think the best is to subscribe at least one of the Cloud companies. MS, Apple and Google all offer very good possibilities. Hope this helps.
Sorry you all had a bad day but the number one high should be that you all woke up and saw another day thank the Lord for that all you got a turn that frown upside down !! 😂✌🏼🎣🎣
Get 2 SSD hard drives and run a tool like "SyncToy" to mirror data on both drives. Don't just move data to a "backup drive". Always have 2 copies and even a 3rd in the cloud or thumb drive. Also, get backup software like Acronis True Image. If you ever loose your drive, simply put a new drive in and run the recovery tools and it will restore the new drive exactly to the old drive and everything will operate as if the drive never failed. No reinstallations of your software necessary. (For Windows, not sure how to do the above with Apple products).
NOTHING gets erased or written over until it's saved in AT LEAST TWO other places. Take enough memory for the camera with you so no media gets erased until you get back to HQ if needed. That way, the original content would be there to fall back on while you're on the road no matter what happens to the laptop in the roughhouse, er. . . . I mean bunkhouse. Time for McCoy to level up on his professionalism in that respect. He's young and will probably make more mistakes (better not make this one again though), but he really does produce some excellent content. That said, protecting that footage is JOB #1. Without it there's not much point in having him around. Let's go McCoy, you can do this!
I’ve dealt with personal computers since 1980 (CPA that couldn’t risk loosing data). You need to do the same thing you do when you launch your boat. Back Up, Back Up, Back Up. Sorry I know your pain from personal experience. Tomorrow will be better. Consider using a cloud based storage system like Drop Box or Box. These systems act like an external drive, are encrypted for security, and risk of loss is significantly reduced. The cost is reasonable as well. Hope this helps.
He ain't lying about that East Tennessee shit. lol I'm just about an hour or so from Cherokee, near Bristol Tennessee. Doesn't get any more East Tennessee than that.
Traveling fishermen may not have reliable internet connection, much less one that will support large file uploads like raw HD video footage. Cloud should be part of the backup when able, but it can't be their only option in this case.
If anyone has any suggestions as far as avoiding this issue and file recovery please let us know! Thank you for all the support Team SMC.
Scott your my fav fisher me. Ever wish I could fish with u
Call the FBI lol
😂
For avoiding, save it to multiple places. Your stuff isn’t safe unless it’s been saved to at least 2 locations!
Look for a cloud storage service, for what you do ot would be worth the cost.
There is nothing more accurate than the S10s, mufflers, and the East, TN- Southwest, VA "Giver her hell" lol that's some funny stuff there.
Gotta say the high for this video is Bradley screaming Give it hell!
We need a give it hell SMC signature merch drop

Truly best travel vlog ever. So sorry about the lows, but still seeing good friends enjoying each other is awesome. It’s why we do it.
Billy always pokin' pokin' pokin'...."what's that smell? smells like somebody burnin' up a hard drive or somethin'" 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Really enjoyed seeing you guys come together for dinner and enjoying each other’s company. Makes me miss a guys trip for sure!
This is one of the best videos you have done in a long time. I will take more of the behind the scenes stuff then the actual fishing
I love that y'all indulge in a adult beverages. It opens everyone up to laughter even when the fishing is tough
Hate you lost your footage but this is definitely one of the best vlogs y’all have done! As much as I like watching the fishing, I enjoy the brotherhood of the whole group!
Excellent video don't worry about the harddrive mishap because there is always more content to put out. Great video!!!

Back up hard drives to external portable drive. Not a huge fan of the cloud but that’s an option too. Chin up, good luck & tightlines. 🎣

Hallman is hilarious!!! Great video!
why are you not using solid state drives?
Y’all sure do eat good . Enjoyed it
Always backup. You edit. Save to a plug and play hard drive. Their cheap nowadays
There is a place you can google that you can mail your hard drive to and they can pull anything off of it and put it on a new hard drive!
Adversity builds character. Anyome can master being awesome when things go perfect but it's your bounce back game that shuts the trolls up. GIVE EM HELL SCOTT!! Oh and Billy is 1 amazing dude. So.positive and a great guy!+
Have a backup. Could be disk or thumb drive
Bahahaha, “I’m trying to keep you high man!” Hahahah
I wondered what was up. I've been looking for your Neely Henry stuff

Hallman, "take their mufflers off their ford rangers" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dang I hate you lost it I was so excited to watch it, because neely Henry is my home lake. Maybe you can visit again. I hate that that happened.
Just got to back the files up I’d use a separate hard drive or I’d just use a flash drive
Nice vid keep up the great work
Cloud storage backup. You need a decent internet connection and to purchase some cloud storage. Start backups before going to bed.

New start !
No worries my friend. Contact Drive Savers in California they will recover your data.
Dude billy is a different fn breed.. funny dude 🤣😂
Always back up and back up often!! Tell your techie to look up the rule of three's when it come to backing up your data. Follow that rule!
Dont get cracked out and forget where you dropped it off! 🤣
Upload it to the cloud first before editing or anything, you’ll never have that problem again.
Traveling fishermen may not have reliable internet connection, much less one that will support large file uploads like raw HD video footage. Cloud should be part of the backup when able, but it can't be their only option in this case.
yes if you want to pay for your own footage
