That's some pretty specific technique for snagging fish. ha! How about if a guy just varied the retrieve fast, slow, hops etc. and let the fish show what they want to take on a given day?

You didn't catch any fish at botany bay not because of the technique, just because it's not the right time, or right place you cast, fish not there. You are sure to catch fish if you are familiar with this spot, just try all the time, morning , afternoon, and evening, also, high tide, low tide. Someone could catch fish at there because they are familiar with this spot, or they are very lucky fishing there at the right time and right location. My Catching Fish = 80% Luck + 15%knowledge + 5% techniques . Gook Luck Next Time Mate! 👍👍👍

So better use jigging rods, you could go to some tackle shop inquire about the fishing gear, they should have more choices. Hi Josh, I would use sugar pen about 10g for the earlier morning and evening chasing tailor, salmon, even kingfish, and light soft plastic or soft VIB for other time for the bream and trevally.Good luck mate!

How do you choose jig for shore jigging? Because it seem like some jig is being used on the boat, and some can be used from the shore?
Yes Mate, you use shore jigging if the water is deep enough , deeper the water, heavier the jigs.
