iMac G3 was my dream in 1998. I was 10, Star Wars Episode I was still a tiny trailer downloaded via 56k on our Win98 SE box, and all we got that Christmas was a Turbo Man doll....

My favourite desktop computer of all time. My prize jewel is a Snow white model. Awesome video!

I collected a few iMacs before I had kids and had to make room. The macs I have that can still run OS 9 are fun to pull out sometimes but the task of making them useful when most of my use of computers involves internet is so frustrating that I shut them off after about 30 minutes. Back in the day I had tons of software on my old systems but having to install the old software is so daunting, I’ll wait till I’m retired to spend all day tinkering with one of these again. And to think the countless hours I used to do that when they were new.

I had a typing class in High School and we used these. Mostly I just played CDs and watched the trippy visuals on the media player. Somehow I still learned how to type. LoL

Thank you, very much for sharing this vintage G3 CRT iMac. Just love this type of You Tube content so, I hope you will post a lot more with this and other vintage mac systems. Like yourself, my first Apple desktop was a PowerMac/Performa All-in-One 5400 with an internal Apple video card system, internal Apple TV/FM radio card system with its matching black remote control. However, I never liked the colorful CRT iMac models. Because what, I wanted when these were being sold was an All-in One G3 model with its 15-inch Sony CRT, CD-ROM, Zip Drive, floppy drive, and three (3) open PCI card bays for adding two USB ports in the first card slot, and two Fire-wire 400 ports in the second card slot and, I would still have an open PCI bay for something later (smile...smile).

I had that very same iMac back in 2000. I hated the look and feel of OS 9. When I installed OS X I immediately loved it! Best Mac OS ever

I think Ives was the designer, not Jobs.

You need a digital video camera with a FireWire port to import footage into that iMac. Can be mini dv, digital 8, or whatever else you can find with a FireWire port.

The theme switcher you showed, is that OS 9 only?. I also suppose you could do useful stuff with Linux on it

Steve Jobs didn't invent nothing, he however had the merit in assembling very good teams that created such good products, because that's what a good CEO does.

I never see one of this personally, only in american movies 😂. Apple never was an option for normal people in Brazil, only the richest and artists. I'm still using my old macbook early 2009 that i bought in 2019 to see how mac works. Great video!

Pra eu ter um MacBook, só comprando um mais em conta, com defeito pra eu mesmo consertar... Caso contrário, jamais irei pagar esses preços absurdos por um notebook...

Try checking out DosDude1's patcher so you can run a modern MacOS on it if you haven't already.
