Another more straightforward option is to send the composition to the render queue of Adobe Media Encoder, which has an option to render it directly to animated GIF.
Yay! I searched for exporting gif in after effects and found this video which shows how to do it in photoshop! Genius! Nice tutorial, but why not to rename it "How to do it in photoshop", instead of After Effects? Such a waste of time. ((
Thanks for your tutorial, but my GIF has a white border after export from photoshop :( Resolved: choose another color of Matte in window export. The default color Matte is white, you need to change color witch you need (bg of your website).

This is not quick tutorial, don't go photoshop. In AE just go Composition then click Add to media encoder queue...and select Gif animation then render
my layers had a trnasparency gradient which could be seen in photoshop. but after exporting as a gif, it all became flat.. help anyone?
try using flat colors only
this dint work for me , it says dynamic link error .. :(
Make sure your both software are of same year
save the project file and open the project file in media encoder and hit render.
when exported quality down
It won't open the file in photoshop :( no tutorials tell me how to fix this
can you send me the file?
thank you
Why do i have white outline in my rendered image ?
