    Thank You! I am Haitian, American born. I am the youngest and never really "learned" how to cook Haitian food. I have the basic concepts but that was it. My current boyfriend is Haitian. He loves food and is always hungry and looking for a meal. I found your channel, hooray! I was able to prepare this chicken as well as white rice & sos pwa noir. Everything I made was well seasoned and amazing! Thank you so much. Excited to try other recipes.

    My boyfriends white and I'm originally from Bangladesh but we LOVE Haitian food and once in a while go to our fave casse croûte haïtien to get our poulet en sos fix with the rice, plantain and all. I love cooking and I've always wanted to make Haitian chicken so your channel is my saviour! I reallly like how thorough you are and it's clear. Saw the épis et macaroni au gratin video and now this so far and i have them saved already loll let me assure you, I'm gonna make this recipe and I think I'm gonna start using épis in all my cooking also thank you Annette!!!

    I went out and bought a Ninja Pro blender and made your Epis.....its the most FANTASTIC spice mixture I have ever, ever used...and my best friend was watching me do all this, and we both just love the smell...so now I am going to be making this dish this week, going to serve it over white rice. My husband tasted the spice I am going to use over the chicken...he says I have to put it on everything now. THANK YOU for sharing your beloved recipes!

    Just made this. Tastes like the one my mother-in-law makes which is a good thing. I always like a lot of sauce and there is never enough. Now I can make this using a little chicken but tons of sauce! I need to also make the bread soup. I made it and liked my version but my husband didn't think it tasted right. I don't even know the name of it. Do you have a video of that?

    I really love the way you’re clear and detailed in your directions! I enjoy listening and watching you cook. I just wish Haitians didn’t use so much Maggi. I saw your epis video without it. What about dishes like this without it? Would you make your own seasoning salts and such? I’ve always loved Haitian food so I want to make it the same but without those premixed spices. I hope it comes out close enough. Beautiful job with the videos. Thank you

    • @dorannette26
      @dorannette26  Рік тому

      Wow, Please don’t tell me you don’t wash your herbs before using it!! We Haitian’s wash everything before using it!! Definition of wash (to clean by means of water or other liquid, as by dipping, tumbling, or scrubbing, often with soap). So yes we Haitian’s use water to wash the thyme.

      Remarkable ... I use Muir Glen, 365, hunts , Great value (Walmart brand), contadina or GreenWise ( Publix brand) organic tomato paste. The key is to not use a lot and make sure you cook the tomato paste in oil for about a minute to remove the raw taste. I hope this helps.
