      @@itfreetraining Let me add this useful command which allows you to see the copy from the server. So access the files using \\servername\Share or \\servername\D$\folder to see the “Previous Versions Tab“. From the explorer

    One of the first questions that are going to be asked by client is about pricing? Do you have a video about Windows Server 2008 pricing?

    Hi, this is a very nice video thanks for sharing. I have few questions if you may please answer them for me.
    I have to copy database files from Drive A to Drive B. So if i bring down the database services and perform shadow copy of Drive A to Drive B. Once it is complete I can copy the file and paste in Drive B. Is this advisable. Please note during this time SQL Services would be down. The Size of files to be copied is about 330Gb. Please suggest.

      That should be fine. However, I would check with the people who make the database software. They may have a utility or script that can use shadow copies to backup the database without taking the SQL Services down. That is the idea of shadow copies that you should not have to take the database down to make a copy of it.

    No longer works in Windows 10

      This video was made long before windows 10 and shadow copies stills exits in Windows 10. Just the interface to access it has been removed.

    • @lockedloaded1849
      @lockedloaded1849 7 років тому

      Yes you can install it but it needs a backup drive to make it work, does not work the same like in WIN7.

    • @itfreetraining

    does black hat hackers use this to create a fake image of your computer?

    • @itfreetraining
      @itfreetraining  8 років тому

      +Birk Opdal No, Shadow copies do not create an image of the computer. They are used in the 'Previous versions' functionality.
