What a great job you did explaining....very clear and concise. Other channels left me with questions still...yours did not. I think a part 2 video for gold would be awesome. Thank you very much!

I use 18k. It turns the milky milky color when silver (750) or higher. I assume the blue milky color is silver chloride

I use 18k not 14k, the silver scratches turns bright blue, but i heard you cam get false positives with some metals
The silver test acid i have says green is .500 silver, but i tested it on a 50% 1968 canadian dime and it didnt look green to me, just looked less red then the .800

That's exactly what I just told them. I wrote up a post explaining how to test it the proper way. I'm sure you know the truth and that that red acid is unneeded

If it's fake silver, but plated, which most fakes are, will it still show as fake? Or can the thin plating give a false readinG?

Silver plated usually has copper or brass underneath. If you scratch jewelry and see red/brown color it's definitely not silver.

I have silver plate, but when I tested it says it's silver?

For silver plated, as I understand it. You have to file deep enough to reach the base metal that the silver covers for the acid to react to it.
