Nothing Phone 2a comes rocking a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 pro 8 core 4nm CPU with 8/12GB of RAM and comes with an 8GB of RAM booster along with a hyper-engine 5.0 to smooth out gaming frame rates. The OnePlus 12R comes rocking Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and is coupled with 16GB of RAM and Android 14. Nothing Phone 2a as of the recording of this video has Android 14 and Nothing OS 2.5.3. I've had my OnePlus 12R for just about a month now. It's pretty much like a rebranded Oneplus + 11 phone with last year's flagship specs with a Snapdragon 8 gen2. And since the OnePlus 11 phone was compared to a Samsung 23 ultra at least in speed test. With high performance mode on the OnePlus 1950 single/5200 multi geekbench.

12R is like double the price of the phone (2a). 12R is more expensive than phone(2) in India, even thr 512gb is cheaper of phone(2)
In the US and UK it’s pretty close in price, India prices are higher on a lot of phones

@@akshay5569 it's cheaper. Check again, with all the offers applied, nothing is cheaper. And it's more than what OnePlus offers, 12gb, 512gb, wayybetter software, performance and trust, with frequent updates. I have the phone(2) already though.
I really want to see the Phone 1 vs Phone 2a. I have both and from using both in a lot of ways the Phone 1 is snappier, but I know that comes down to Phone 1 being very well optimised and the 2a needs more work to get there. 2a can be snappier, but also quite slower in some other aspects.
Staying with phone (1) is better/wait for nothing phone 3

Great comparison, however the base 12R, with only 8GB of ram, which I'm using now to type this, is $150 more than the 12GB Nothing Phone 2a, unless you have an old phone to trade in & save $100. The 16GB OnePlus 12R you're using is significantly higher at that, $150-$250 more, again depending on trade-in. I also have a 12GB Nothing Phone 2a coming in myself & think both are fantastic, but the price differences are going to be more, than just a little bit, for most people, understandably.
You just have to put in Any phone Trade in for $100 credit, you don't even have to send in the phone
Also, limited Verizon 5G support on Nothing is a negative for people who use Verizon/Visible/Straight Talk/US mobile ext...

Frankly, they're specifications aren't even close to being similar. The nothing phone 2A utilizes the mediatek dimensity 7200 pro chipset with the MG 610GPU. Once more, it has 12 gigs of ram. 10:20 You forgot to turn on HIGH PERFORMANCE MODE in Battery settings then you will get single core of 2000+ and multicore score of 5400+ ... unlike other brands oneplus underclock their CPU in normal mode for battery efficiency
That’s not how it comes out of the box. I test these at the out of the box settings.

The drawback of having a curved display is that you cannot use tempered glass properly to protect your display. In addition to that, it might be painful to hold it for a prolonged period. So, I'd prefer the Nothing Phone’s design.
