Clip from Season 1 Episode 3: SHOTS AND SALSA - It's flu season and Cloud 9 is flooded with shoppers looking to get vaccinated. When Jonah (Ben Feldman) offers to help out in the store pharmacy, he is tasked with administering flu shots, resulting in his most stressful day yet. Elsewhere, Glenn (Mark McKinney) needs an employee to put on a sombrero and hand out samples of the new store salsa and conspicuously looks to Amy (America Ferrera) and the one other Hispanic employee Carmen (Grace Parra) to do it. Both of these series of events lead to an impromptu diversity seminar for the staff. Nico Santos, Nichole Bloom, Colton Dunn, and Lauren Ash also star.

ABOUT SUPERSTORE
America Ferrera and Ben Feldman star in the hilarious workplace comedy "Superstore," about a unique family of employees at a supersized megastore. "Superstore" centers around Amy (Ferrera), who recently was promoted to be the store manager and is the glue holding the place together, and Jonah (Feldman), a dreamer determined to prove work doesn't have to be boring. Their fellow associates include the sardonic Garrett (Colton Dunn), the sweet and clueless Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom), and the perpetually dismissed Sandra (Kaliko Kauahi). Also on the team are Glenn (Mark McKinney), who stepped down as manager in an attempt to have more family time, and Dina (Lauren Ash), the aggressive assistant manager who enforces Cloud 9 policy with an iron fist. Mateo (Nico Santos) was also part of the team, most recently as the self-promoted floor supervisor, until being detained due to his undocumented status.
Superstore is available now on Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal. Watch thousands of hours of hit movies and shows, plus daily news, sports, and pop culture updates. Stream now on Peacock.

When the lady said, Nelson Mandela is African American, Garret looks around to see if anyone else noticed. This is a great example of why this show is so well written and so well acted.
o
😂 true
ayo LOL
Nelson Mandela wasn't Black; he was mixed Khoisan-Black.
@@eromalandersson5716 Black is a race as in your skin colour, not to do with ethnicity.
😬 for Sandra
I love how Amy is the one TRYING to get the team to notice their own “stereotypical racism” and it’s totally her fault they have to watch the videos!🤣
😂😂😂
I feel kinda bad for her tho
Her intentions were good though
Me Too.
@@francesbernard2445 Hella Funny🤣!!
Wait a minute, did they call Nelson Mandela African-American??? 💀💀💀
Yes, it caught my attention too.
I thought someone was gonna correct it but it never happened.
Yeah. I specifically rewatched this episode to hear it. I crack up every time 😂😂😂
There are a huge amount of Yanks that call every black person 'African-American' because they have no idea about the rest of the world.
I literally JUST caught that too!! And I've watched this series all the way thru at least 6 times!
It's on purpose, it's part of the joke
“All the colors of the Cloud”
But clouds are white…
“Exactly”
you never seen dark clouds? or sunshine clouds?
@@kimeli yes
White light can be split into the colours of the rainbow. So there’s that… 🌈
I also love how as soon as Amy does the offensive Asian accent Mateo immediately reverts back to SoCal English! “That would be messed up!”🤣
Exactly. That snapped him out of it.🤣

Lost it when Garett said "I hoped when I woke up this morning I was gonna learn about racism from a white lady"
That part kills me 💀😭
Amy's look of concern for Sandra always gets me. 🤣
What do Martin Luthor King, Malcolm X, and Nelson Mandela all have in common, they were all prominent African-American leaders. Yes, from the great states of Georgia, Nebraska, and Mvezo respectively.
They're all dead. That's what they have in common. 😀.

one of my favorite episodes. I love it later when Amy actually does end up dressing in the same clothes as Mateo and starts dancing around to La cacaracha in the store 🤣
La cucaracha
*Cucaracha.

La cacaracha 💀💀💀💀

The fact that Mateo said he's Jose but Mateo is already the Spanish version of Matthew lol
Isnt Mateo filipino? And arent Filipinos Hispanic as well? (Since they were colonised by Spain)

Oh, how I miss this show. The humor is 100% authentic! Like, the spot-on accuracy is so real and so funny how they give it!🤣 Also, "Yeah, we're not going to watch another video, Sandra!"🤣
The look on Amys face when the Asians see her is too funny!
I love that Nelson Mandela is referred to as African American.
Yes. This is the inherent flaw with referring all black people as African-Americans.
africa = america
Its part of the joke that learning about racism from that white lady on tv doesnt help at all as she clearly knows nothing
The comment "Thanks a lot guys, when I woke up this morning I was hoping to learn about racism from a white lady" describes a situation I have been in way too many times
Can we talk about how they are able to pull everyone off the floor for an hour+
Have you ever been to Walmart or Big box store it's almost exact same thing You're like where is all the employees at in the break room 🤣
The way my jaw dropped when America did that asian stereotype 🤣🤣🤣 - hilarious scene
I have watched the whole show twice its so good!🤣
At least 7 times
Only twice 😂
@@thorpeparkgals6254 same lmao

I sense sarcasm
Mateo could have literally kept calling himself his own name....Mateo would be a common name in Mexico lol
Nah but Amy's stereotypical impression of an Asian woman was way too good, brilliant actor she is😂
I think racism is such a touchy subject in America not only because is very prevalent BUT because it is ACTUALLY used to hurt people; it goes beyond stereotypes...
It used to hurt actual victims. Now people are just casually offended, especially on other people's behalf, because they think that automatically makes them good people.
@@TheSinlessAssassin 100% true
@@TheSinlessAssassin its still actually hurting people. Old people and women are being assaulted on the street because of racism. What if somebody is racist to a friend of yours in front of you, but behind their back? Wouldnt you call them out?
Stereotypes can hurt people man and it can lead to violence.
@@swanurine that’s so true.
Mateo should not even be offended, he's Filipino and she's mocking mostly East Asians😂
Filipinos are (South) East Asians
@@gwesaugust2489 Aha? East Asians are China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea...which what the girl was mocking. South East Asia has different group of countries 😉
@@gwesaugust2489 learn the difference between East Asian and South East Asian
To be fair, Mateo is mocking Mexicans and she's Guatemalan American. Stereotypes aren't usually concerned with being specific, and it's usually applied to a diverse group of people. That's part of what makes them stereotypes.
@@jmhorange I thought Amy was Honduran?
This is so funny 🤣🤣 I'm Mexican American and my cousin's and I laugh so hard when we see this episode
wait! wasn't colorblind same thing as being ignorant about racism? at least I remember something from one of the episodes in the office.
It is. The old idea was that you shouldn't notice colour ("I don't see race") which is absurd.
People say it’s not realistic for mgmt in the show to pull everyone off the floor for a useless 30 min + meeting, but I’ve had retail jobs where they did just that, only to then freak out why every dept was behind the rest of the day
Im watching this show for the 3rd time now... but i dont feel like its enough😂
It isn’t, I don’t even remember what number of times I’ve rewatched it, I just keep rewatching it
This is among my top 3 sitcoms. Brilliant writing, brilliant acting.
Fun fact:
MC Cool Cloud committed suicide in 1994
Then, there was a band named Nirvana,
There was the singer and guitarist ALSO committed suicide in April 4 1994.
how is that a “fun fact”
@@flutter1518 Garrett says it was a fun fact.
The cherry on top of this segment is that line "Color blind is color kind" 😅 this is such a good show I put one episode yesterday and ended up watching the first three seasons again....
Well that statement is true
y'all are spoiling us, aren't you? anyway, i'm eating it up, i miss amy so so so much.
Same here!
Sandra constantly apologizing is why we need feminism
To be fair, Sandra goes on a long journey throughout the series and finds her voice, asserting herself hilariously at times.
bun bun
By that logic it was a feminist ignoring her…
She needed therapy actually.
How long you've been a racist?

Jonah 🤣
Lol Superstore is actually a grocery chain in Canada
I have watched this entire show 3 times and i never stop laughing 😂
Where's my damn MC Cool Cloud spin-off, Peacock?!
Poor Sandra. 🤣😳☹️🤣

Mateo is also a common name in Latin America, you know Matthew.

That's right, you don't just ease in to your racist caricatures, you go from 0-100 immediately.

Amy is Honduran why is she offended for us Mexicans?
I’m pretty sure she’s just offended by the Hispanic stereotype all together.
It’s a stereotype for latinos in general not just Mexicans
This, schitt's Creek and parks and rec are my absolute faves!

He said he is Filipino. Mexican food and Filipino cuisine have much in common. No racist word hit Mateo, only 'rice'-LOL.
Jokes on her, all of those stereotypes she did on asians only apply to east asians lol.

Okay, but are we gonna mention the MC Cool Cloud bit? 😂 This show can be surprisingly dark at times.

Why is it that the Passing lady looks more offended than the Dad and the Grandmother?
She looks Asian, not passing…
Why did he just say "library" in spanish?
I love how Mateo changed his name to Jose even though Mateo is a Hispanic name
Did you hear the one about the Jewish bird?✋😭
It's funny that he "changes" his name to Jose to seem more Hispanic when his name, Mateo, is already the Spanish form of Mattew.
Mateo isn't a Spanish enough name for him
"no matter how good of a dancer Jerome is" 🤦
