Wow look at that, mine is also a 1985 but black and in pretty dissembled condition at mo, recovering from serious illness as I have yet to recable her, new rear shock to do and just fettle and finish before she goes back on the road... Mine doesn't have the T5 7 port engine in, instead it has a 5 port 150cc LML Xpress engine which has the same power and torque as a P200 and she will cruise all day long at 75mph as the Xpress is known in India colloquially as LML's "P200", I bought it direct from LML for about £300 and its a nice motor as I bought my T5 missing engine.

Excellent job on the restoration! I am in the process of restoring my 1987 Motovespa T5. I am trying to keep the scooter original, what shocks would you recommend? The previous owner replaced them with aftermarket shocks.

Very popular in the UK because it was as fast as the P200 yet still learner legal. A learner must be 17 or over. The motorcycle must not exceed 125cc, 11kW, and power to weight ratio not more than 0.1kW per kg of weight. The T5 complies with that.
That legshield trim should be black not chrome, the MK1 T5's all had black legshield trim hence why they got the nickname "Airfix models" for some reason.
