- I decided to include a short unboxing and post installation view of the progress. Care should be taken in the battery order and most care when removing the bottom cover. Other than that, pretty simple. I'm not putting the link to the battery here as there are so many variations of laptops you need to carefully pick yours out. So enjoy this helpful hint to give new life to your old battery.

I have this same model laptop and the trackpad has lifted out from the casing. I think it's because the old battery is expanding. Just got my new battery and I'm about to give this a shot. Thanks for the tutorial on replacement, I hope this works.
And I'm done! Seems to have worked. Man, my old battery was super puffed up. I'm glad I did this. Now I have to find a way to dispose of it. It's weird having a track pad that clicks again, lol.
@@sc0rpio79 Congratulations. I was a bit scared at first but like you it went great and restored my laptop.
Followed the instructions and it is as simple as it looks if you are not rushed and have adequate workspace. (Don’t want to drop those tiny screws!!) since both cleanliness and temperature were mentioned during the process, I would have appreciated some commentary on what to do if the inside of your computer looks dirty or sooty or if it is running hot.

No data loss at all.
The battery on my laptop never charges and in order for me to be able to use my laptop is by keeping it plugged in to the power.
Is this after you changed the battery? This battery continues to work fine after about 3 years. Let me know.

Can i simply remove the failing battery completely and just keep it plugged in all the time or is that harmful to the rest of the electrical parts?
I honestly don't know the answer to that. If you could purchase a new battery, i would suggest going that way. Sorry I couldn't answer your specific question.

What is the model number for this battery.
How was the new battery doing now? Has the battery life faded after few months of use? Many people claimed that after few times charging, the new battery that they purchased on Amazon declined.
I am going to reconfirm shortly. Checking with person i did the repair for. Last check, all was working like new.
@@lostinthe60s Ok for sure. My laptop is in critical condition for months now and needs a new battery. However, DELL no longer sells battery for my laptop model on their website. Amazon has mixed reviews so I am nervous to make a purchase. Thanks in advance!
