we can all help protect and encourage our precious wild flowers, here’s how.
By removing the more robust weeds and woody hedgerow growth, sunlight will reach the ground which will in turn stimulate plant growth. If nettles, thick grass and docks overwhelm the area then these mainly delicate plants won’t be able to compete and will eventually disappear into the darkness..
Here i am using a cutter which will leave the grass cuttings loose on the surface. These must be removed to leave a clean, unobstructed habitat for next seasons growth.
Over the years you will be rewarded with more flowers and therefore butterflies 🦋 ..
