Even though it was 1978, this song has the feel of the earlier glam sound of The Sweet. A wonderful track with Brian singing lead vocals, just like the old days.
The swan song...Brian with his most beautiful, distinctive, caressing, nuanced voice of the early days...without it and those grey-blue eyes as dark as night, the Sweet were nothing... enchanting
That was a wonderful time to enjoy music. Discovering the B side was part of the fun of buying 45s, and Sweet had some of the absolute best B sides recorded. This song sounds as great as when I was in high school in 1978.
This was the B side song on the Love Is Like Oxygen 45 record I bought as a teenager. I wore this song out! I loved it so freaking much! Only place I could find it was here. Amazon music, iTunes, etc don’t have it to play. Guess I’ll be doing a screen record of it to save it to my phone. This song was so underrated.
This is exactly my situation but I found another 45single. I think it should have been an A side as its so good. It should have been on the level headed album.
I always liked that song! I thought the intro was very similar to "La Grange" & the opening line in the chorus seemed to be taken from the Beatles - but I still loved the song!
Is it Beatles, maybe, but a very nice copy - uugh I need your love and etc etc...great bass work from Steve and the riff is so familiar....Beatles and the piano part is excellent.
Cover Girl and listen to Beatles´s Eight Days A Week...uuuu, I need your Lovin, 8 days a week etc etc..the rest is pure Sweet....copyin is not that bad, cos all bands do it. If fans think I am moggin Sweet, they must be nutts. I´m not and full stop.
How could ooh i need you love make it a copy, how many songs have i need your love lyrics, its a cliche. Get real guys nothing like the tune of the beatles.
On one hand, you'd have to be a complete feeb to deny the obvious Beatles influence, especially the bass. But on the other, you'd also have to be a complete feeb to think this sounds like "a Beatles song."
very interesting track! Was this really recorded during Level Headed sessions? To me sounds more like Off the Record sessions and maybe left off that album? I's a great solid track that should be heard by all Sweet fans!!
Give me your love, you gotta help me make it through the day and night Just a taste, of success is the front cover of time and life Ooh, I need your love Only you can satisfy me Ooh, I need your love You are in my head Oh, you ain't going nowhere, no way, baby I fell in love, with the golden sunshine deep within your eyes In dreams I touch, the softness of your skin is paper thin Ooh, I need your love Only you can satisfy me Ooh, I need your love You are in my head Oh, you ain't going nowhere, no way, baby I picked up the magazine from the rack and you were there How does it feel to be the centre of attraction for so many, ooh yeah Ooh, I need your love Only you can satisfy me Ooh, I need your love You are in my head Oh, you ain't going nowhere, no way, baby
It would've been recorded around October 1977 in France along with the rest of Level Headed. There's an interesting demo version on the album Platinum Rare which features Andy on lead vocals.
What a superb B side ! This song still stacks well even today. Just great rock with no complications.

Man würde kaum vermuten, dass so eine toller melodiöser Chorus kommt. Tolle B-Seite, toller Shuffle Groove!
Brian´s voice is fantastic.
Brian’s voice is just too beautiful

Brian Francis Connolly...he us fantastic....amazing..love You too much!!!! 💕💕🇧🇷
Could have been a top 10 hit on it’s own.

Class 70s Glam Rock Band ✨✨🎆
Great song. Haven't heard this in a while.
I love it!
Played constant at the skate rink! Ah, the days.
One of my absolute favourites
never heard this, good song and vocals
Another amazing B side
I always liked that song! I thought the intro was very similar to "La Grange" & the opening line in the chorus seemed to be taken from the Beatles - but I still loved the song!
Blur's 'Parklife' sounds like the main riff, with a bit of Hawkwind's 'Orgone Accumulator' thrown in.
Que tal joya!!
Brian
Wow where were they hiding this gem!
Is it Beatles, maybe, but a very nice copy - uugh I need your love and etc etc...great bass work from Steve and the riff is so familiar....Beatles and the piano part is excellent.
Sounds a bit more like Sweet to me.

@@andreasuhlbrandt6743 yes i agree. The chorus does sound a bit like the Beatles 8 days a week. Thx.

Give me your love, you gotta help me make it through the day and night
Just a taste, of success is the front cover of time and life
Ooh, I need your love
Only you can satisfy me
Ooh, I need your love
You are in my head

I fell in love, with the golden sunshine deep within your eyes
In dreams I touch, the softness of your skin is paper thin
Ooh, I need your love

You can hear a Beatles influence in this.
What Year Was This Song Recorded? It's Sounds Like Previous To LEVEL HEAD?

@@goldenboat9106 wasn't off the record recorded in 1977?
@chrisc9389 Off the Record was out by April 1977, I believe recording on that album finished around February.
Is this Brian on lead throughout, or does Andy have a lead segment at one point???
I think I hear Steve at 2:09
Mostly Brian in great form, Steve sings the part 'I picked up the magazine from the rack...' No lead vocal from Andy on this one.
No doubt it 's Steve Priest. RIP
@Mike Brock Andy sings the demo on Platinum Rare.
@@ulrikes6588 You're right, how did I miss that upon first listen?
True glam boggie rock and roll
You can that see a lot of bands copied their style
queen did it.
