I believe that 4 sec of Nævis took so much time and money, that would be too expensive for SM entertainment to create all the characters that way
EP2 is talking about their weakness, worries? My conclusion:
Karina : expectation of her perfection. Everyone said that Karina is reliable, and Karina said about her worries , which is that the ae-karina is perfect , but real Karina can't be always so perfect.
Giselle: criticism of her appearance and . EP 1, Giselle is enjoying the camera and dreams to be a super star, but ep 2 she is fear of the camera,people have been attacking her figure and her appearance . Everyone is watching you, everyone wants to replace you.
Winter: misunderstanding of her by others. Saying that she had a bad personality or that she "bully" her teammates, so she turned around and wanted to run away. i think this is also why her eyes turning black? cause Naevis say "never turning back", she didn't run forward but back？
Ningning: Hate comments from all over the Internet (the knife under the keyboard) + nationality controversy (the blood in the video,there also some voice saying "Chinese" in behind). Everyone knows ningning loves "surfing" on internet, all the cute emoji turning bad because of the people attacking her through internet.
Last but not least, I'm guessing that Naevis scarified herself to save the girls, as the lyrics in the SAVAGE MV (i know your, scarifies~~) and also, she said that she can't step out/ leaving from FLAT, but in the end of the video, NAEVIS is at the train station

It looks as though each episode of aespa's drama will be released after the MV comes out, not before the MV. So, really being lost when you watched their "Black Mamba" MV, was exactly how everyone was supposed to watch it for the first time. LOL The first episode was meant to explain their backstory and what we saw happening in the "Black Mamba" MV.
Everything in aespa's virtual world is supposed to remind you of things from all of SM's artists, and the company itself, because it's all part of the SM Culture Universe. For example, in ep. 1 we see a scene from Super Junior's "House Party MV" and Super Junior-K.R.Y.'s "When We Were Us" MV.
And in ep. 2 the butterfly they follow through Kwangya looks very similar to the butterfly you see in NCT-127's "Favorite (Vampire)" MV and SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" MV, as well as the butterfly in EXO's debut "Mama" MV, etc. The butterfly is also thought to be used as a metaphor to represent a woman (possibly representing a connection to the heart of the Tree of Life from EXO's storyline) in each of the MVs -- and it is thought that this is one of the ways that SM is creating connections between the storylines of its groups. For example, in aespa's storyline NingNing's symbol is a butterfly, which is thought to possibly be connected to the butterfly we see in EXO's "Mama" MVs from 2012, and it's even thought could be connected to the butterfly in SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" MV from 2009. And now that we know the butterfly is what they follow in order to not get lost in Kwangya, it makes sense why we are also seeing the butterfly in all of SM's other groups' storylines, etc.
The big square labyrinth maze we see floating in the sky in ep. 2 that blocks aespa's way looks exactly like the labyrinth maze we see floating in WayV's "Love Talk" MV. I see the cube as part of SM's labyrinth concept where, like EXO, WayV might be trapped inside a maze. Which, if the maze is part of the Red Forces' plot, could be why they are in a foggy dream state in "Love Talk". We often see the EXO members in a sleepy dazed state because they are under the Red Forces' control.
In EXO's storyline it is thought that the Red Force has trapped EXO in a maze and the maze dulls EXO's sense and makes it so they are unable to fight back, as we first see in EXO's "Overdose" MV and continued across most of EXO's other MVs. Therefore, it makes sense we would also see the maze in aespa's storyline because it could be connected to SM's SM Culture Universe other world and other dimension storyline that connects all the company's groups and artists together.
And I think the roller coasters you see in ep. 2 as they enter Kwangya are supposed to remind you of Red Velvet from their "Zimzalabim
" MV, etc.
From the very beginning, it has been thought that Red Velvet could possibly be the Red Force, or they could at least be members of the Red Force. I think the Black Mamba maybe working with the Red Force, or it could be a separate evil being who also wants to find the Tree of Life and prevent peace from being restored in the Universe. So, if Seulgi is the Black Mamba, this would only further the theory that Red Velvet is connected to the Red Force. But no matter what, I am sure RV is definitely part of the SM Culture Universe.
In aespa's "Next Level" MV we see aespa and their avatars with what looks like the Mother Tree from the Hollywood movie "Avatar," so I think maybe aespa were made the guardians of the Tree of Life, tasked with hiding the two halves of the tree. So, maybe the Tree of Life is what the Black Mamba is after.
As we are told in the intro of EXO's debut "Mama" MV, the Tree of Life was split in half in order to prevent the Red Force from gaining control of the heart of the Tree of Life. However, things on Earth have gotten out of hand, so now EXO needs to reunite the two halves of the tree in order to restore peace. Therefore, I think part of EXO's mission is they are on a quest to find aespa in order to reveal where the tree was hidden.
The giant pink bear in ep. 2 is SM's mascot, and you see it all over in things to do with SM, such as in EXO's "Dancing King" MV and a lot of other things that SM produces.
If you watch the behind the scenes videos of the photoshoot for SM's New Year's Eve SMTown Concert last year, you also will see that not only is the subway train in ep. 2 supposed to remind you of their "Black Mamba" storyline, but it also looks a lot like the set of aespa's photoshoot for SM's New Year's Eve promotions, which was set on a subway train car filled with flowers, etc. (All of SM's artists and groups had subway train car themed photoshoots for SM's New Year's Eve concert and album last year because they were supposed to be traveling to Kwangya for the concert.)
The Black Mamba becomes a bully putting self doubts in the girls heads in order to try to get them to stop trying to reach their goal and fix things, as we saw depicted as cyber bullies, people who want to catch them in unflattering moments and post the pictures online, people that spread rumors that aren't true, people who say and do mean things because of jealousy, etc. But in the end you see Karina and the other members refusing to give into the Black Mamba.
You see the butterfly reappear, which is presumed to be sent by naevis because she said she would be watch them. The butterfly redirects Karina and reminds her of what she needs to do. She vows to keep on fighting against the Black Mamba and not allow it to control her. Which is where I think aespa's "Life's Too Short" MV continues the story.
If you haven't already you should also check out "Free to Fly" by Kangta, who is a member of the very first Kpop boy group H.O.T., which debuted under SM in 1996. Kangta is now a solo artist, vocal coach and member of SM's board of directors. "Free to Fly" is a remake of H.O.T's song, which was originally released in 1997. The new MV for "Free to Fly" came out last year and it features Winter from aespa and Sungchan from NCT as the characters within the MV's story and the story is connected to the whole SM Culture Universe.
So don't feel bad if you don't understand a lot of what is happening in aespa's storyline, because in order to really understand it all you have to pay attention to everything SM produces from all if its groups and artists.
Yo, didn't you realize the song played by the orchestra in the ep2 was kind of in tune with the instrumental version of next level. Amazing!
